Occasionally have to remind staff my husband has not been shaved.
Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that there have been some occasions when this has been missed. I will pass this on to the team and we will continue to improve.
I am 87 years old, I cannot stand or walk anymore. I have only been a resident here since January 2024, but I feel happy and 'at home'. The care here is excellent, I have to be hoisted everywhere, yet I never feel a burden, I am always met with kindness and humour, which I love. Nothing is too much trouble, they cater to my every need, which includes a diet, as the food here is too good and very high in calories! I think I am going to enjoy living here.
Thank you for your kind words. I am delighted that you feel at home and have settled here in Allt Y Mynydd. We look forward to assisting you to live a fulfilled life here in the home.
Every time I visit, my mother is always clean and comfortable. Her room is always clean and tidy. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Welshing speaking staff, which is important to us, work here. The food is lovely and always hot. I cannot fault my mother's care. The staff are kind and patient. I am made to feel welcome whatever time I call.
Thank you for your kind feedback. It is always appreciated and comforting to know family members are happy with the care and setting. We look forward to welcoming you again soon.
My client is well looked after by caring staff. Always a warm welcome.
This is a very welcoming atmosphere provided by the friendly staff who are always on hand to help the residents or answer questions from relatives.
Plenty of activities for the residents and we relatives are encouraged to join in and to visit at any time.
Thank you for your review your feedback is much appreciated. We look forward to welcoming you to the home again soon and hope to share many more experiences and activities with you.
My mother has been a resident at Allt Y Mynydd Nursing Home for a number of years and my sister and I visit her often completely unannounced and always find our mum well dressed and clean. The staff are very caring towards her and always make us feel welcome. My only negative about Allt Y Mynydd Nursing Home is the fact that the owners do not employ local builders to carry out essential building work. The main entrance conservatory has been ongoing for two years and is still far from being completed.
Mum has been in Allt Y Mynydd Nursing Home for approximately two years. All the staff are excellent and now they have become a part of our family. Nothing is too much trouble. They look after Mum as if they were looking after their own mum, that is a great comfort to us as a family.
Many thanks for such a lovely review. This means so much to me and the team at Allt Y Mynydd. Look forward to seeing you soon.
Very happy with the care, food is excellent and all staff are very friendly and look after our parents, the place is very clean and when we go to visit the staff always greet us with a smile
Hi Alan,
Many thanks for your kind review. We are always grateful for any kind of feedback.
Kind regardsAmie
Everything is always well prepared for us, staff are welcoming and always supporting residents. They provide us too with a cup of tea/coffee and biscuits at the end and give us a good opportunity to meet and speak to residents and get to know them on a more personal level. This is always a delightful experience and we are sure that it is a great opportunity for residents to be truly valued. They appear to enjoy the whole experience as it gives them a sense of community spirit. Staff are always professional, always mindful of any needs, outgoing and obviously display a sense of enthusiasm and fulfilment in their work. We enjoy being there.
Hi Gareth,
Thank you for your kind review. We thoroughly enjoy your visits with and the residents have such a lovely time with you all. We look forward to future visits.
Kind regardsAmie
A group come to hold a meeting on Sunday afternoons. We are warmly welcomed and enjoy singing and sharing the Gospel news with the residents. It is always a pleasant time and the residents seem to enjoy our visits.
Good afternoon David,

Overall experience and care support are excellent. The rooms are kept in a high level of cleanliness. Everything is done to a high standard. My uncle is being very well looked after. Highly recommend this pace.
Many thanks for the great review. Your uncle is a pleasure to care for.
My sister moved to this home earlier this year. We always wanted Allt Y Mynydd as a first choice. We were so pleased they had availability. Staff are friendly and supportive of family as well. I can call anytime for updates.
Such a lovely review, it's always heartwarming to know we are appreciated.
Many thanks
Amie
Due to covid restrictions, I’m unable to visit mum as much as I’d like but I’m kept updated of mum's well-being regularly. I highly recommend Allt Y Mynydd Nursing Home and more so the staff, who do an amazing job. Thank you all.
Thanks for the positive feedback, we really appreciate it. Kind regards.
Amazing care home and staff! Couldn't ask for better care for my mamgu who has severe dementia! Feel comfortable and happy leaving after each visit! Staff are always friendly and welcoming! Highly recommended.
Thanks for the lovely review, we really appreciate feedback. Kind regards.
Mum has been in Allt y Mynydd since 2019. I used to worry about family members going into care as you hear some horror stories, but I needn't have as everyone is so friendly and helpful, I always receive a warm welcome when I visit and there’s always the offer of tea and cake. I can see my mum that she is happy, all staff members treat the residents with the care and respect that they deserve, they are like a little family. The food always looks and smells delicious, the home and grounds are kept clean, neat and tidy. They also have activities twice a day which I know mum enjoys, especially pamper sessions and bingo. Unfortunately, due to COVID, I haven’t been able to visit mum, but I’m always kept informed of her well being either by phone or FaceTime (with mum), and I can contact staff at any time of day for updates and I’m not made to feel like I’m being a pain. I couldn’t wish for better care or a better home for my mum to be in. Thank you all so much.
Thank you very much for your kind review. We look forward to welcoming you back when restrictions are lifted. Kind regards, Amie.
I was very happy with the way my husband was looked after by all of the staff. They made what had been a very difficult time much more tolerable for both him and me. Thank you all.
Every single member of staff played their part from the Management to nursing staff, care staff, domestic, entertainment staff, and groundsmen. Mother was very happy there and all residents spoke very highly of the attitude of all. She was very happy with the food and the entertainment provided by the home. A home from home. It makes up for the fact that the home is a little old fashioned and could do with some investment by the owners. That would make the job of the staff so much easier. Not that it seemed to affect their caring attitude. Thoroughly recommended.
My mother has been resident at Allt Y Mynydd Home, Llanybydder for the last 12 months. The care provided by the home and the staff have been outstanding. The care, compassion, dignity and professionalism of the staff have been wonderful. The home is resident focused and driven. They have activities all day and hold a residents forum where they are given an opportunity as to what activities they want to do. I work and regularly visit my mother at all time of the day and night, and there is a warm welcome every time. The home has a welcoming feel to it and is always warm and comfortable. Home from Home.
I went to Allt Y Mynydd for the first time last week to visit a relative who had recently moved to the home. I had been worried about what I might find given the horror stories we hear about care homes but I needn’t have worried. The surroundings are beautiful and the atmosphere in the home was so cheerful and friendly. The staff were chatty and helpful and I could see that they all had such a good rapport with the residents with lots of laughter throughout. They have a wonderful activities team with something going on every morning and afternoon - while I was there they had a Shetland pony visiting, even going in the rooms where residents were unable to get out of bed! The food looked very appetising and plenty of it and I was offered tea and some delicious home made cake. The visit really put my mind at rest, I know that my relative is getting the best possible care and I would recommend Allt Y Mynydd to anyone in the unfortunate position of having to put a relative in a care home.
My grandmother has been a resident of Allt Y Mynydd care home for almost a year. The decision for her to become a long term resident in a residential home was a difficult one at the time. The care, support and upkeep at Allt Y Mynydd has made the transition a very positive experience. As a family, we are happy that our grandmother is being cared for to the best possible standard. Her physical, mental and social wellbeing are being nurtured in the best way and we are always welcomed to share meals, drinks and spend time with her as we please. We are so grateful for the care and support at Allt Y Mynydd not to just my grandmother but also to us as a family.
Thank you for such a glowing review.

Meet the Team (8)

I am a qualified nurse and have been nursing for 16 years. I have an extensive clinical background in both NHS and Social care settings. I have been a care home manager for 8 years and am passionate and dedicated to my role.
I have two children and enjoy spending my spare time exploring both locally and further afield, cooking and reading.

I have been working at Allt Y Mynydd for 8 years where I have progressed from carer to team leader. I find it so rewarding meeting many people with different needs and conditions. I hope we enrich their lives a little more whilst giving their required care.

I have been a working at the home for 5 years and as a Registered General Nurse I really enjoy the challenge of working in a care home setting, it is very rewarding.

I really enjoy my role as Care assistant, helping residents in their day-to-day living. The home is very friendly and we ensure everyone feels like they are home-from-home and living with one big happy family.

I’ve been at Allt Y Mynydd Nursing Home for 3 years, and enjoy working here, it is a lovely place with lovely staff and residents. Everyone is very friendly and eager to help.

I have been a care assistant here at Allt Y Mynydd for 8 years, and it's been an incredible journey. Supporting our residents with compassion and dedication has been a privilege. Together, we've fostered a community where everyone feels valued and cherished.

For 18 years, I've been a kitchen assistant here at Allt Y Mynydd. It's been a rewarding journey, serving up nourishing meals and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our residents. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be part of this kitchen team and to contribute to making our care home feel like home.

In her spare time, she enjoys singing, has a great love for animals, and takes part in all kinds of water-based sports. Her inspiration to work in care came from her mum, who worked in a care home. As a child, Charlotte would often join her, helping with crafts and spending time with the residents, experiences she found truly rewarding and enjoyable.
