My father has been in Hafan Y Coed for 18 months. Going into a care home was hard for him after being so independent all his life. ALL the staff have been friendly and caring towards him and the family.
I feel that everyone does their best to look after the residents as if they are their own family, with respect and compassion. They are always up-beat and cheerful. There are lots of events and entertainment to occupy the residents .Dad says that the food is very good.
There have been some times that Dad has needed minor medical attention, which was handled professionally and with consideration.
I have asked Dad how he feels about the home, he said that he has "no complaints and everyone is very good to me."

I think that everyone would prefer for their loved ones to be at home with them, but I can recommend this as a second home. I feel that Dad is safe and looked after.

It can be difficult decision to place a loved one in the care of others when it is no longer possible to look after their daily needs at their own home without 24 hour support. Hafan Y Coed offers good facilities for full time residential care and when my mother's mental and physical abilities changed where it was no longer possible for her to do anything for herself, the decision to place her there was the right choice. The Nursing Staff offered 24/7 support by assisting with all her daily needs, building up a friendly rapport with her that made her feel that she was being looked after by friends, rather than strangers and they would engage her in conversation to lift her spirits and reduce loneliness. They ensured that her overall healthcare and welfare was monitored and ensured their nursing treatment was always supportive and in a friendly manner during her two years there.

Sadly my mother passed away at the age of 95, but I am content that her time there was comfortable and with people who treated her with first class care, compassion, dignity and as if a personal friend. I would like to thank all the Staff and Nursing Team for their efforts during her stay and the Management Team for their assistance and compassion in dealing with her final affairs.

I am so happy with how caring everyone was for my Grandmother. they really do look after everyone so well and it is amazing to see. I see my Grandmother 3 times a week in the home and the staff are so welcoming and comforting with everything and they do as much as possible for my Grandmother. also the food in which they provide is exquisite and definitely deserves 5 stars. My overall experience has been amazing and outstanding would definitely recommend to others searching for a care home for relatives.

My mum became a resident of Hafan Y Coed Care Home in August 2025. It has such a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, she has settled in so well and made lots of new friends. All of the staff are attentive and supportive to the residents and their family. It is a huge decision to place your mum in a care home, I know she is so well looked after, night and day. Mum is always chatting to the staff and residents, she loves the concerts and activities too.

My family and I are deeply grateful for the outstanding care my grandad received during his time at this home. From day one, the staff showed genuine empathy and compassion - not just towards him, but also towards us as a family.
Every interaction, whether it was direct care or simply someone taking the time to ask how he was doing, meant so much to us.
In my grandad's final months, we were comforted to know he was surrounded by warmth, dignity, and kindness. He passed peacefully in an environment where love and respect for residents is clearly at the heart of everything.

We will always remember the staff here for the difference they made during such a difficult time. Truly exceptional care.

My father has had fantastic nursing care while being a resident here. They have also looked after his psychological and emotional care when needed. He's been taken out on excursions which he's enjoyed. The manager has also explained we can ring them any time for ant advice.

Thank you all so much.

What a wonderful home with such lovely caring staff. You looked after my dear mum for her last few months of palliative care and did everything to make it comfortable for her. I was so glad that she joined in activities and was even able to walk using the zimmer frame after coming out of hospital in a wheelchair.
As a home all the staff showed my mum, me, my family and my mums friends a genuine welcome when there.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this home.

My mum has been a resident at Barchester Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home for fifteen months. The support my mother, myself and rest of the family have received is priceless. My mum's needs have been challenging at times and difficult for myself, as an only daughter, to manoeuvre but the team at Hafan-Y-Coed at all levels has been phenomenal. From the manager, office, reception and every single one of the activities team, without forgetting one member of staff, in particular, and all the carers, who show immense patience and great advice, during one of the most difficult periods in my life, I feel that the team at Hafan-Y-Coed are my 'comfort blanket'. The facilities are terrific and the effort that is put in at all levels by all the staff to provide the very best in activities to keep residents, like my mum, focussed, as well as some imaginative trips out, is quite literally unbelievable. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

I can't tell you how grateful I am to all the carers and staff at Barchester Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home for the care they have shown to my husband over the past two years. He could not be in a better place. Everyone goes above and beyond to give the best care to all the residents and, of course, this includes the activities team. Thank you all so much for everything.

Our family cannot praise Barchester Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home, Llanelli enough. My mum is virtually incapacitated except for one arm due to a stroke. She also has dementia. All the care staff are wonderfully caring, thoughtful and jolly. The nursing team are excellent and thorough. My mum was recently admitted to hospital for a short time and her nurse from Hafan-Y-Coed constantly liaised with staff at the hospital. The entertainment team are fabulous and is constantly coming up with fun and interesting activities. The meals are varied and excellent. We are very grateful that my mum is in such a fantastic home. Thank you.

I like the staff I met when I visited my mum from Singapore in April. They appreciated how close we were and how much we enjoyed each other's company. When I left, there was a promise to set up weekly video calls. Sadly, that never happened. It is very disappointing to repeatedly send links, wait around for 30-45 minutes then give up. Barchester Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home have not offered reasons why and emails go unanswered. It is a shame that they are over-promised or are unwilling/unable to go the extra mile.

The staff at Barchester Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home are amazing. They are the most caring and lovely people. So much effort goes into the activities - it's always wonderful to see the residents enjoying themselves.
Mum has been a resident for just over a year. Her needs are challenging but the staff look after her brilliantly and always treat her with love and respect.
The home itself is well-maintained and feels very homely.

My mum has been at Barchester Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home for a year and a half and it's the best decision I've made. Mum's needs are always met and she thoroughly enjoys joining in with the activities on offer. Mum enjoys going on the minibus trips to various places, including an afternoon tea dance.
