Just a few niggly bits but Mum is a very happy resident with very little work.
This will give us three activities people working across HYC...
Staff are extremely obliging and kind. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they often go out of their way to ensure the comfort and happiness of residents.
Thank you for your review we are thrilled you have reviewed our service as excellent in relation to supporting people with dignity and respect. We are recruiting new team members into our housekeeping team to increase our bank team of cleaners. We are also advertising for a housekeeping team leader...
He has dementia which means he can sometimes be a little agitated. They attend to his needs, taking him into the lounge/dining room for interaction/food and are at hand when he needs personal care. Room is a good size with a toilet, we are able to personalise it with pictures and a TV to keep him occupied/stimulated. Staff are always cheerful, the home has activities/entertainment most Fridays, you are able to have tea/coffee and meals if you mention this and give them advanced warning.
Thank you so much for the review we are so pleased your family member has settled in so well. Please keep us informed of anything else we can do to continue to build on our knowledge and relationship with your father-in-law.
Caring staff are conscientious and very caring to my wife. Pleasant and respectful.
Thank you for your feedback, Norman. please come and speak with me or a member of the team to let us know what we can do to improve our activities offered.
Extremely satisfied with the staff and care home.

Sarah is a Registered Nurse with a wealth of knowledge and experience within the nursing/care home sector taking over as General Manager in July 2021.

I am Emma and have been the Deputy Manager at Hafan Y Coed since March 2025. I have a Master’s Degree in Health and Safety and am currently working towards my Level 5 in Leadership and Management. I have been a registered Nurse for nearly 26 years with experience in various medical fields.

Katie joined as the Hafan-Y-Coed administration assistant working on reception but has recently been promoted to become the home's administrator. She will often be the first point of contact with the home with her friendly voice on the phone.

Hello, my name is Chloe and I am the Administrative Assistant here at Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home. I work in the Administrative office alongside Katie. I started Barchester in 2017 in another local Barchester Home working on reception. I have also previously worked on Activities entertaining the residents on a daily basis. I enjoy working in the care environment as I love getting to know new residents and families and I am very proud of the success of Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home and the excellent reputation held within the local community.

I am the Head Chef at Hafan-Y-Coed. Although I have been in this role for just over a year, I bring nearly 40 years of experience within the hospitality industry. Throughout my career, I have led kitchens in five-star hotels, fine dining restaurants and outside catering, as well as successfully owning and operating my own restaurant. My professional achievements include being featured in the Michelin Guide’s recommended places to eat, the Castell Howell Products Signature Collection, and the 2016 Great British Cookbook, alongside renowned chefs such as James Martin, Stephen Terry and Levi Roots. I am passionate about my role as Head Chef, particularly leading teams and sharing the culinary skills I have developed over many years. This position has also strengthened my focus on dietary requirements and the creation of well-balanced, suitable menus.

My name is Marie, and I started working at Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home in 2022 as the Lead Activities Coordinator. My job involves planning daily and monthly activities for the residents, as well as arranging weekly minibus outings. I also organise community events for people to get involved in. Here at Hafan-Y-Coed, we love to invite new faces into the home to join in with all the fantastic activities and events we have to offer.

My Name is Ryland, and I have worked within the home since 1993, starting as the gardener and maintenance assistant. After years of experience, I moved up to the role of head of maintenance in 2020. We have three maintenance assistants alongside me who help maintain the building and grounds to a high standard.

Hello, I am Nicola, the head of housekeeping. I joined Hafan-Y-Coed in 2002, and I really enjoy working with my team to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness all around the home. It is a delight to chat with residents as we clean and deliver their laundry.

My name is Clare, and I am an Activities assistant here at Hafan-Y-Coed care home. I have worked here since 2014. I have also worked on Care for both of our Memory Lane Communities. I have obtained both my Level 2 and 3 QCF in Health and Social Care as well as being the Dementia Champion for the home.
I enjoy working alongside my team, entertaining the residents on a daily basis, taking them out on our minibus every week, getting involved with the community and going above and beyond to deliver the Barchester Life Enrichment Programme.

My name is Sue, and I am one of the Activities Assistants and Dementia Champions here at Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home.
I have many years of experience working in elderly care and people living with Alzheimer's and Dementia. I first started working here back in 2013. The best part about my job is getting to know the residents and also getting to know their loved ones. I have a passion for making sure the people living here lead rich and fulfilling lives.

My name is Vicky, I have worked in Hafan-Y-Coed since 2005 and I’ve worked my way up to a Team Leader, I am also very proud to say I am one of the Dementia Champions here at Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home.

My name is Ryan, I work in the laundry department. I have been working in Hafan-Y-Coed since 2019. I enjoy my job as I love to make a difference in the resident’s lives. Making them laugh and smile on a daily basis makes the job really rewarding.
