My mother in law has been a resident at Plas y Dderwen care home for over a year. During this time i have nothing but praise for every person involved in her care. Within the care setting she is stimulated with various activities, celebration of events to which family are also invited and external visits, both individually and as part of a group. She is treated as an individual and her ongoing needs of care are assessed regularly. As her fmaily, we are kept updated to changes in her care and are contacted if any concerns arise. Personally the care that she has received has been exceptional, and as a care home the team should be very proud of what they are achieving. Thank you all.

After my mother's fall and stay on a trolly in A&E from 9:00 am Tuesday until 6pm Wednesday at the age of 93 it became apparent that it was cruel to leave her there even though she had been given the go ahead to leave - with a fractured pelvis. I contacted the care home Plas-y-Dderwen and my mother was admitted that evening. The manager was wonderful in organising and eased my anxiety and the staff have been wonderful to her. It is a short stay but I know that the care she will receive will help her with her recovery and it has allowed me to have time to organise things for her homecoming.

I am a nurse who came to work at Plas Y Dderwen eleven years ago. I had previously worked for the NHS for 30+ years as a psychiatric nurse. I work nights on Teifi unit and love my job. I have met the most amazing people during my time here and consider it a privilege to care for people living their journey through dementia and its challenges. The staff I work with are well trained and experienced in delivering a high standard of individualised care. The home is a friendly comfortable environment with plenty of trips and activities going on. The management are very supportive of all the staff and their various needs.
