The building is light and airy with pleasant views to the outside even in the corridors because the building is constructed around courtyards. The staff are without exception warm, friendly, and professional. They seem a very happy team and in the 9 years I have been visiting there has been little staff turnover, so my mother sees the same friendly faces and hears the same voices. I'm sure this is reassuring for her. In all these years I have been confident that my mother is receiving the best possible care. There are lots of activities and large open lounge spaces to encourage residents and families to socialise.

My mother has only recently moved into the home, but the care from day one and even prior to moving in has been faultless. It was a very stressful and difficult decision to make regarding my mothers new home, but the whole team have been very reassuring (receptionists, housekeeping, carers, maintenance). I now have peace of mind that my mother is being well looked after in a caring environment. The home is always spotlessly clean, and there are numerous activities going on to provide stimulation and entertainment. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a placement for their loved ones. Keep up the great work, everyone!

Everyone at Albert Edwards Prince of Wales Court has been extremely helpful and accommodating with regards to my mum, this place and staff are a cut above with genuine interest and care. It is a traumatic time when someone you love has to go into a home you feel a failure, and it's hard to come to terms with. Everyone at Albert Edward makes you feel welcome and all are very approachable. Thank you, Albert Edward.

My mum has been in this home since March of this year and having come from the hospital all I can say is that the home has made her very comfortable and caters for her every need. The staff ensures that she gets involved with all sorts of activities, and they are very well thought out and various. The staff are very welcoming and helpful as well as being very kind and caring towards my mum. I feel that my mum is having the best possible care.

From our first contact to the moment my mother became a resident, we have found the whole experience to be very professional and supportive in every way possible. All the staff are attentive, polite courteous, respectful and always willing to assist and help to resolve any situation with ease. We would have no hesitation in highly recommending the Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court to everyone seeking a supportive and safe home full of new friends for their loved one, where dignity and respect are delivered with a smile and care. They can't do enough to help. Faultless to the last degree.

It was with some trepidation we agreed to my parents moving to Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court. My mother moved in first followed by my father 6 months later. The care and attention they both receive is second to none. This applies to all staff working there from all disciplines. I thoroughly recommend this care home. They all have worked their hardest throughout the pandemic, so life can go on as normal. If I could book a room for myself I would!

The home is run with a total care approach and not as a business. They have great communications with residents families and we have been kept fully informed during the pandemic. Everything is spotlessly clean, modern and fully functioning.

Having visited many care homes over the years whether run by local authorities or private concerns, none of them could ever compare to the Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court for its total commitment to the care and welfare of its residents. The staff and carers are a dedicated team who make you feel like a special individual and always seem to go the extra mile to meet your individual needs. The end result is a happy and contented environment for everyone. I am so fortunate and privileged to be a resident at Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court.

As soon as I arrived here I was made to feel welcome and 'at home'.The staff are helpful and efficient but never too busy to have a friendly chat. Despite the covid restrictions I have settled in well and am happy to be in such a caring environment and lovely surroundings.

My mother has been a resident for the past couple of months and I have nothing but praise for the home and staff. Allowing some of Mum’s furniture into her room has made it homely and familiar and she has settled well and is smiling and happy. The room is bright and sunny and looks out onto a lovely seaside-themed garden. But it is the staff that make the place. From the carers, nurses right through to the management team, everyone has done their utmost to make Mum and us as a family feel comfortable with the home. Kindness and happy smiley people must be their keywords of operation, along with competence and total care.

For the four years that my mother has been a resident, she has received outstanding care. All aspects of her care! General health, Covid, comfort, cleanliness have all been addressed to a high standard. The staff who care for her approach the job with humour, which she loves. Facilities at the home are modern and well planned. My mother often comments how lucky she is to be at Albert Edward. Top marks from me!

The whole set up of the home, from admin staff, service staff to nursing staff have been exceptional. The ethos of the environment is tangible, you can feel the kindness, support and trustworthiness, it is so comforting. Nothing is any trouble for the staff, they are always helpful and their communication skills go far and beyond. I have never experienced an environment like it and am so thankful to have my relative in a place of love and care. I would class this place as a home and am amazed how quickly my relative settled into the environment and it is reflected in their happiness. It is a big decision to make and to find a place that ticks all the boxes is so reassuring. I have no negative comments to make, the whole experience has been smooth and I now have peace, knowing my relative is in the best home possible.

Arranged visit - time and date specifically for birthday. Greeted by cheerful, helpful staff. Visiting rooms are spotless, and very homely/comfortable. Resident very hard of hearing but microphone works very well. Resident very happy and comfortable. Staff checked to see if he could hear. Discussed his health and recent update. Everyone helpful, cheerful and mindful of resident's needs. Very successful and joyful visit for resident and visitors. Thanks to all.

I have been very pleased with all aspects of my mum's care. She was given a nicely furnished room with views of the gardens. The staff were friendly and caring and I felt that standards of hygiene and shielding were very good. We could not visit her because of COVID-19 but were able to make phone contact with the help of staff. Unfortunately, she was very frail and died from a short non-COVID illness. The staff were more than helpful and sympathetic and the palliative care she needed was carried out very professionally. As a family we couldn't have wished for a nicer place for my mum to end her days. Sadly she was too frail to take part in activities and socialisation, but she enjoyed chatting to the staff once she got to know them.

I cannot praise everyone at the home highly enough for the care of my father. He quite rightly loves the home and the staff. He feels safe and cherished. Everyone is working hard through the challenges Coronavirus brings to ensure the standards at the home remain outstanding.

My father moved to Albert Edward from another home where he felt unhappy and unsafe. He was extremely satisfied with the care he received at Alberys Edward. The staff without exception are professional kind and caring. My father was dying from prostate cancer and his nursing needs were expertly looked after. While the carers took the time to make sure that they catered not only for his bodily needs abut also cheered him with their personal attention.

Teresa Picton
Teresa PictonJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2008

I have worked at Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court for many years, firstly as a carer between 1992 and 1996. I then completed my nurse training and returned to the Home in 2008 in the role of RGN in our nursing area, and then progressed to my current role.

Before coming back to Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court, I worked as an Advanced Practitioner and independent Prescriber at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, out of hours. I also managed the hospital at night in the absence of the coordinator.

I decided to retire from the NHS and join the team at Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court, and I have enjoyed my time here. I am very proud to be part of this team.

In my spare time, I enjoy travelling in my motor home and knitting, especially for our residents' stalls at events. I am part of a quiz team in our local pub and enjoy being part of the Home's events.

Donna Griffiths
Donna GriffithsJob Title:Deputy Home ManagerJoined: 2018

I began my care career in 2007, completing NVQs and working my way up to Deputy Home Manager. With the opportunity to be part of a commissioning team for the flagship home of a previous care provider, I moved into care home administration before joining RMBI Care Co.

Here at Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court, we strive to provide the best care and exceptional service to all from the moment they walk through our doors.

Shelley Owen
Shelley OwenJob Title:Business Relationship ManagerJoined: 2018

Having worked at Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court for five years, I have progressed to my current role as Business Relationship Manager. I hold several qualifications, including a degree in Health and Social Care practice, and I am currently working towards further qualifications in my role.

I work closely with residents and staff, so I remain fully aware of the needs of residents. I use this experience during training sessions to make it relatable and real, and to keep our staff and residents safe.

Simon Roberts
Simon RobertsJob Title:Facilities ManagerJoined: 2015

I’ve been working at Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court for the past 8 years as the Facilities Manager. I'm responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all buildings, grounds, furniture, fixings and equipment.

From school, I started an apprenticeship with the Ministry of Defence as an Aeronautical Engineer and then moved up through the ranks, managing aircraft servicing and their surroundings. I eventually ended up on the business development side, planning and scheduling when I left after 16 years, qualified to HND level.

From there I moved into fleet car sales, working for Sinclair Volkswagen in Bridgend for 6 years. Then I moved into self-employment (painting, decorating and property maintenance).

Having lived in the local area for the past 40 years, I was lucky enough to fall on my feet and land the Facilities Manager's job at Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court. It is a wonderful place to work and only a stone’s throw away from my home and family.

Nicola Osborne
Nicola OsborneJob Title:Activities CoordinatorJoined: 2022

I am part of a small team responsible for providing a range of activities for our residents. Our aim is to make activities fun, stimulating and beneficial, and to really make a difference in our residents' lives.

A warm smile, a kind gesture and a listening ear are essential for this role, and we try to embrace this every day. Being a little crazy is also beneficial, my role model for this job would have to be the iconic Sir Charlie Chaplin. We might not manage to change the world like he did, but we will certainly try to fill our Home with smiles!
