My family and I are very happy with the care my mother is receiving to date in Ysguborwen Care Home!
She has been a resident there for over a year now and after a short while of settling in she now seems to be happy and content due to the care she is receiving! The staff are not only professional but are also very friendly with her so all in all a good situation for her to be in!

Thanks, Ysguborwen Care Home.

Ever since my mother moved into Ysguborwen Care Home just over two years ago, I have been absolutely delighted with the care she has received. All of the staff, without exception, have been amazing with her and nothing is ever too much trouble. Everyone is always friendly and supportive and I have been kept informed at every stage when my mother has visited a GP, nurse, optician etc. I cannot commend it highly enough and am so glad that I chose Ysguborwen for my mam's care.

Always very helpful and accommodating. The setting around the home is very picturesque and being able to go out in the wheelchair helps with the resident's morale. The accommodation is also very pleasant and very clean with lots of activities for the residents to enjoy if they want to.

It is 9 years since my mother became a resident of Ysguborwen after suffering a major stroke. The care and support she receives from the nurses and carers is unparalleled. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and no matter the time of day you visit they are all working hard to ensure the comfort of the residents. They have a fantastic entertainment and activity programme and I have been lucky enough to visit when a concert, or dancing, is going on. They have a wonderful garden area outside that is used extensively during the warmer months. The home is spotlessly clean, as is my mother's room and it is very obvious they treat my mother's space and personal items with the utmost respect. During what was a very difficult time Ysguborwen, with its staff and carers, have made it a lot more manageable.

I cannot recommend Ysguborwen highly enough and I will always be grateful for the care they have given to my mother.

My mum has only been at the home a few weeks. She has settled in very quickly due to the kindness and how welcoming the staff has been.
She was in hospital a long time and most days refused to get out of bed and slept all day. Since being at the home, she gets up every day and spends the day in the main room with everyone else. She is usually one of the last ones to go to bed.
She has also enjoyed being in the beautiful gardens when the weather has permitted.
The staff and care are exceptional. We are informed of any health issues and GP advice or referrals are dealt with promptly.

Hopefully as time goes on Mum will start to join in with the activities and enjoy the fun the staff bring to the home.

My godfather recently passed away whilst a resident in lilac unit, Ysguborwen. Ysguborwen had been his home for 2 years prior to his passing. The staff were always so friendly and caring not just to him but to me and my family. During the last 2 weeks of his life, they were nothing short of amazing, went above and beyond to accommodate his every need whilst also supporting myself and showing so much compassion during this time. I have immense gratitude for the staff, who made a difficult time more bearable.

My dad was a very keen gardener, winning awards for his beautiful garden. We thought this would be the best place for him. We were so right, always something going on inside and out. The staff are so welcoming and the care they provide is exceptional, good contact with us in regards to my dad's health and wellbeing. Smiling faces always from receptionists to cleaners, I really enjoy visiting the nursing home it's a delight to see the residents enjoying activities and music.

Ysguborwen are always welcoming, you can visit at any time. They are easygoing and work very hard, as whenever I visit the staff are always busy looking after the residents' every need and nothing is too much for them. There are activities going on on a regular basis and residents are moved around so they engage with different residents. Rooms and daytime quarters are very clean and homely and always lovely and warm. Excellent!

The approach road to the home is a disgrace. It is positively dangerous due to the surface finish, i.e. potholes, patches, very uneven surface.
The shock absorbers on my car scream in protest. The gas injections can be heard inside the car.
How the staff and ambulance men put up with it amazes me.

Don't the managers or area managers drive and then complain about it?

Reply from Debbie Strong, Manager at Ysguborwen Care Home

Thank you for your comments-the drive has been constantly repaired when needed for short periods, mainly due to us requiring emergency access for our residents at all times, and we will be attending to it again soon despite the huge inconvenience it poses. We are a small private company,not...

Ysguborwen Care Home is, without a doubt, the best I've come across. We wish things were different for my grandmother, but we have reassurance knowing that she is well cared for in a home that provides lots of stimulation, warmth and personalised care. We particularly love the grounds and regularly take my grandmother for a stroll around the pond, which she loves. We are so grateful to all staff, who go above and beyond to care for her. Thank you.

My mother has been in Lilac unit since February 2021 and we are so relieved and happy with the care she receives there. Following my father's death from vascular dementia my mothers' Alzheimer's dementia deteriorated considerably and she came to Ysguborwen Care Home. We had heard only good reports and peace of mind was paramount in our choice of home. The staff are brilliant, they are all friendly, caring and seem to go out of their way to engage with the residents to make them happy. My mother, although she doesn't realise why she's there and thinks she's going home tomorrow to dad says "It's a very nice place and the staff are lovely". She engages with all the many activities and entertainers and looks so much more healthy since being here. She is vegetarian and the catering staff give her a veggie diet. The building and grounds are well maintained and she loves the pond and chickens which makes visits in the better weather more easy and pleasant. 10/10.

What can I say about this nursing home; it's absolutely amazing.
The staff are so caring and friendly.
The home itself is beautiful and absolutely clean.
The care they show my mother-in-law is amazing; they have welcomed her into her new home with open arms... and have settled her in so well that she now does not miss us.
