Thank you for your comments-the drive has been constantly repaired when needed for short periods, mainly due to us requiring emergency access for our residents at all times, and we will be attending to it again soon despite the huge inconvenience it poses. We are a small private company, not eligible for funding the access road, and made the decision in the last few years to reinvest in the areas around the Home ie the extensions and the grounds ,where residents are able to spend quality time in lovely surroundings.

Having been a registered nurse for over 30 years, it is a huge privilege to have held the manager position here at Ysguborwen for the last 8 years, and my biggest passion is contributing to the enhancement of the quality of our resident's lives and experiences in their home. Every day is a gift and with my highly skilled and caring team, our residents can live life to their potential and more importantly, maximise their wellbeing.
I was first introduced to the care environment when I was 18. I started my career as a care assistant working my way up to becoming a registered manager. Knowing and caring for a person with Dementia is a true passion for me. I have thrived in being able to make a difference to all of our residents living with Dementia. Improving the lives of those living with Dementia will always be my passion.
I have been working at Ysguborwen for 17 years and during that time I have progressed from a care assistant to a dementia manager. My passion is ensuring people living with dementia are able to lead fulfilled, normal lives every day with quality and choice. I believe here in Lilac we make that happen.
I have held a senior care assistant role here for the last two years and I now combine that with a training coordinator post and now recently, promoted to assistant manager. My aim is to provide a platform for staff to assist them with a knowledge base and understanding of all different aspects of working within the care industry. Each resident here at the home has their own individual needs and characteristics and this helps us all to get to know the residents and deliver their care in a person-centered way. I love coming to work every day at Ysguborwen. Every day is different and brings new challenges.
Having worked in manufacturing for over four years, I found myself questioning whether I was making a difference in the world so I decided to make a change. For the last five years, I have been thankful and lucky to be in a role where my priorities are keeping our lovely residents safe and comfortable in this caring environment.
It is a great privilege to work with our lovely residents for the past 30 years in the role of well-being enhancement. I have met so many individual characters maintaining life skills and developing new ones. It's a joy to be part of their creative journey. I'm always excited to meet new people and use innovative technology to interact at all different levels.
My name is Cerys an I am the Admin Manager here at Ysguborwen Nursing Home. I started work in February 2006 as an Admin Assistant and have worked hard to gain various qualifications to get me to Management level. I love working at the home. Although some days or situations are tough to manage or deal with, overall, working at the home is very rewarding. I watch staff grow and develop and seeing the residents laugh and smile each day is a big bonus to my working day. They all have individual and funny characteristics; two days are never the same; they certainly brighten my day. It's a daily challenge but I'm very privileged to work in such a diverse and caring environment.
