My Mam came to Cwm Cartref for a months respite. In her short time here she made lots of friends with residents and staff. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the happy smiling faces was just the tonic she needed.

Review of The Court Care Home from Elwyn D (Son of Resident) published on 1 September 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
I cannot recommend The Court highly enough.
From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. The staff treat residents with dignity, warmth and genuine care. Mum lived here and was truly part of the family.
What stood out most was how much they respected her desire to be as independent as possible. They didn't just do things for her - they found ways for her to continue to do things. Mum was encouraged to help set the tables, water the plants and to welcome new residents with her warmth.
The activities team kept her busy with music, crafts and trips out. The kitchen team produced meals that she enjoyed.
The nursing and care team were patient, kind and professional and they always supported mum to do what she could for herself while being there when she needed help.
Most importantly the love and support we received from all the staff on mum's final day will stay with us forever.
The Court gave us complete peace of mind knowing mum was safe, happy, respected and loved. Thank you.

I am satisfied with the care provided to my husband. I really enjoyed the summer party on the 1st of August. And look forward to more events going on in the home. I don't feel like the food is good enough, there is not enough variety and it seems quite bland, quite childish.

Overall Experience
My family and I are incredibly grateful for the care and support my mother receives at this care home. The staff are always approachable, friendly, and genuinely caring. They take the time to get to know each resident as an individual and consistently treat my mother with dignity, kindness, and respect. What stands out most is the compassionate and professional approach of the team. Nothing ever seems too much trouble, and they are always happy to answer questions or provide updates, which gives our family great peace of mind. The staff create a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel safe, valued, and well cared for.
I am extremely happy with the standard of care my mother receives and the dedication shown by everyone who works there. It is reassuring to know she is in such capable and caring hands. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for exceptional care for a loved one.

Review of Brynmawr Care Village from S P (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 August 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
I have to say that the staff at Ty Plasgellar are absolutely phenomenal with Dad. They treat me like one of the family which means I am always able to approach them with any questions or concerns. Dad has had some health issues recently and they have been absolutely excellent at keeping me informed on what's going on, how he is doing etc and also taking all my concerns about his health, physical and mental, seriously.
The most important thing for me is that my dad is treated as an individual and as a human being, and this is never an issue with the staff. They laugh with him, joke with him and treat him as they would have done had they known him before his diagnosis. There is always some activity going on to keep him and the other residents stimulated and engaged.

Review of The Beeches Care Home from J H (Friend of Resident) published on 5 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card•
Overall Experience
My friend has a pleasant room with some of her own possessions around her. Today as normal she was seated comfortably in her armchair with pillow support and rug for knees. The room was tidy and a small fan was on a nearby unit as the weather was warm. Staff entering the room were polite and she was brought a cup of tea by a carer who noted she had pressed her call buzzer and asked if she needed anything - she didn't. On the negative side she had pressed her call buzzer before I arrived and it was a good 20 mins before the carer asked re her needs - although, as I was with her, perhaps they assumed she was ok.
