I was devastated when my husband had to be taken from hospital and put into a nursing home. The realisation I was unable to care for him anymore was unbearable. All I can say is, if you are in a similar situation you need not worry about the care your loved one will receive. The carers and all support
staff I interact with are absolutely fabulous. My husband is kept clean and as comfortable as possible. He eats reasonably well as the food is good and there is quite a variety. The new manager is superb and extremely dedicated to the efficient running of the home and care of his patients. All I can do is give praise to Parc Wren. Thank you!

Abergarw Manor Care Home

from Laverne L (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I can't speak highly enough of the wonderful staff at this nursing home. We have lost Dad in the last few days but the care given from day 1 up until after his passing has been exceptional. All staff care for their residents as extended family. The home is beautiful and always clean. I particularly
loved the cinema room. There is always entertainment and events for all residents and family members to enjoy. Dad was a private man and reverted back to taking himself off to his room but that didn't stop staff popping in and 'visiting' him.
We were kept informed of every concern, and included a monthly catchup to review his care plan.
His last night was special and a moment that will remain with me for a lifetime. He was treated with the highest dignity.
Much love and appreciation to all the staff at this wonderful 'home' xx

from Keith B (Son of Resident) published on 21 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I live nearby and I visit very often. Staff are kind, helpful and willing to go the extra mile with positive interactions. Engaging activities, e.g. dog, music therapy. Mum, 94, is treated with dignity. Strong visible management in running the home. The manager, a Welsh learner, has a passion for caring
for residents. Staff are trained, competent, with ongoing training. The home is safe, clean, with a comfortable environment. My mum appreciated the flexibility at eating times. A person-centred care approach. Safety protocols are in place, as well as healthcare/GP access. The home provides good food. The nurses 24/7 are approachable, many with "super clinical skills". Always a warm welcome! The home has recently had a facelift, new reception, paintings, a sensory garden, including a veranda, and new flooring. Making the home more appealing. I highly recommend.

Myself and my family are very happy with the care my mother receives at Cwm Cartref. Management and staff are always helpful, pleasant and courteous. The home is always clean and doesn't have the unpleasant smell that unfortunately some homes do. I am always informed immediately if Mum has any issues,
and I know she is in safe hands, and I can have peace of mind knowing she is in good hands.

Can't explain how pleased we are with the care mum is receiving.
Having been at a brand new home for a short period it became clear that care is more than a new building, it's the people who provide the care that make the difference. Since moving to Cartref Annwyl Fan mum has improved significantly
and is enjoying being looked after properly.
All staff have been brilliant, couldn't recommend highly enough.

It was heartbreaking when we were unable to to care for my dad at home it's one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do.
Firstly I looked online for nursing homes in a 30 mile radius of where I live, I knew what my dad needed to be comfortable and happy so narrowed it down to 3 possible nursing
homes and went to visit them after I came out of 2 of them in tears and not because they weren't suitable but I felt very alone then I arrived at Park Wern all staff were so welcoming I was introduced to to everyone including some of the residents the manager talked me through the process they were so welcoming I went back and forth a few times in the following weeks and I was made to feel comfortable and at ease they answered all my concerns. I visit my dad most days and have come to know the staff and residents.
They have got to know and understand my dad and are respectful he's not just a number it feels more like an extension of our family and friends they even check that I'm ok.

Reply from Wilson Ncheke, Registered Manager at Parc Wern Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, we are deeply touched by your honesty and kind words. It means the world to us to know that Park Wern could offer you and your dad comfort during such an emotional time and we are so pleased you felt welcomed and supported from the very first visit. My husband has been in Valley View since Nov 23 and we have had a very positive experience so far, although at first I was heart broken at having to see him go into a home. It is the calibre of the staff that make a good home. We were all very sad to see the manager leave and we are eagerly anticipating
the appointment of a new manager, as at the moment the home feels rudderless. I am also very very sad to hear rumours of one member of staff in particular leaving, she is a vital part of the home.

Review of

Brynmawr Care Village

from Nigel B (Son of Resident) published on 4 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mam has been well looked after in the home, she seems a lot happier and healthier in the home. In her last care home she had repeated falls, UTI's and incidents of aggression, these are now no longer the case. There are plenty of activities to keep her amused and engaged, when she is in the frame of
mind to participate. It is a huge relief for me and my family, after the previous disastrous experience in the other home. Well done to the staff of the home.

Abergarw Manor Care Home

from Yvonne H (Wife of Resident) published on 30 June 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I was so worried about my husband now needing dementia nursing care ,I went and viewed a few care homes before finding Abergarw Manor, when I walked in here without making any appointment I was pleasantly surprised by everything within, seeing how wonderful the staff were with the residents, the love
, compassion, and empathy ticked my first box, seeing the residents being entertained participating in activities was so wonderful to see. They were all looking clean and well cared for. The home itself was beautiful +spotlessly clean, I asked a lot of questions and the received the answers I wanted I was hoping for. After speaking to the lovely manager and depute manager my mind was made up .
My husband is very happy here and has been here almost 2 months already . Highly recommend this home and it's wonderful staff , nothing is too much trouble for them . Wonderful parties here for the residents, and their families who are always supported and included in everything

I honestly can't thank Abergarw Manor enough for the care and compassion given to my Aunt whilst a resident at the home.
Not only did they treat her with the upmost respect, they also provided me with the support I never knew I needed.
Each and every member of staff are an absolute credit to the
company and I can't thank them enough for everything.

Three Cliffs Care Home

from C H (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 June 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

Mum has been a resident in Three Cliffs for almost 2 years. The home is kept exceptionally clean, and always smells fresh. Mum is well cared for, her personal hygiene needs are well taken care of and she is always dressed in clean clothing. the carers even match her jewellery to the outfit of the day
and paint her nails. The staff are all dedicated and professional, and they show compassion to all of the residents and visiting family. Mum has recently been extremely unwell. I did not want her to be hospitalised, I was overwhelmed with how dedicated all the staff were in caring for her every need. Thank you to all the nurses and carers who nursed Mum back to health. Truly appreciate you.

Reply from James Colburn, Registered Manager at Three Cliffs Care Home

The Beeches Care Home

from Debra H (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 June 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mam has been here since 2023 and so far I have no worries about her care the staff are excellent with her. Could not be more pleased. Also the home is very clean and her room is always spotless. Though some of her clothes are not hers. And there are one or two things missing from her room. I would
like her brown bag replaced a photo of her with her sister. Also a navy blue dressing gown with pink hearts found. Thank you all for the hard work you are doing.

Reply from Kenni Price, Registered Manager at The Beeches Care Home
