Glain House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My sister and I met with Glain House management on 9th January, looking for a placement for both our parents as an urgent measure, and were given an excellent first impression. Management obviously care deeply about their responsibilities in the care home. Mum and Dad were accepted into Glain House
and the level of care they are receiving is outstanding. All the staff are well trained, very kind, and friendly to our parents. They have settled into their new home very well and are getting the care they need. Mum is having palliative care and Dad has late stage Alzheimer's. A big thank you from my sister and I to Glain House. We would definitely recommend them!
Reply from Gemma Howells, Head of Marketing at Glain HouseThank you so much for sharing your heartfelt review. We are truly grateful that you and your sister took the time to describe your experience during what must have been an incredibly emotional and important transition for your family.
We are delighted to hear that your first impression of Glain House gave you confidence and reassurance, and even more pleased that your parents have settled so well into their new home. Your kind words about our staff, their training, kindness, and friendliness will mean the world to the whole team. We thank you for your recommendation.

My sister moved to The Beeches 3 months ago for nursing care, as her needs had increased beyond what her previous care home felt they could provide. I've seen a big improvement in her general wellbeing. She seems much happier and more content in herself, whereas she had often seemed quite anxious &
upset previously. I feel goodness prevails in this place. The care & love shown by all the staff, has uplifted our spirits during a difficult time of change. Thank you everyone.
Reply from Gemma Howells, Head of Marketing at The Beeches Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a lovely review. We are so pleased to hear that your sister has settled well over the past three months and that you've seen such a positive improvement in her wellbeing. Knowing she feels happier, more content, and less anxious means the world to us.
Our team works hard to create a caring, uplifting, and reassuring environment for every resident, and your kind words about the love and compassion shown by our staff mean a great deal to everyone here. Transitions can be difficult, and we're grateful to have been able to support both your sister and your family through this change.

The care mum gets at Cwm Cartref is excellent. All the staff are very helpful and patient. The activities and facilities are first class. There were many events and activities throughout the festive season, and there is plenty more to brighten up a gloomy January.
I feel included in my mum's care
at all times and am informed of any changes very promptly. The atmosphere is always calm and welcoming, whatever the time of day I visit. Nothing seems too much trouble. Mum is definitely well looked after and as comfortable as she can be despite her many healthcare needs.

After coming to view Treetops for the first time, for a care home for my dad, it was so welcoming, bright and homely. Dad moved in to Treetops in June 2024, and loved his new room. Dad enjoyed the company of other residents and the staff. As I live in Cornwall, it was such a blessing to know my dad
was in a safe and caring environment. The staff are all wonderful, with a wide variety of activities to keep all residents stimulated and lovely food options. Sadly, Dad passed away in August 2025, but in that time, he was at Treetops he was treated with, love, care and dignity. Thank you.
Reply from Gemma Howells, Head of Marketing at Treetops Residential Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review of your dad's time at Treetops. It was a privilege to care for your dad, and we are so pleased to hear how much he enjoyed his room, the company of other residents, and spending time with our staff. Your kind words about the activities, meals and the welcoming atmosphere will be shared with the team, who always strive to make life meaningful and enjoyable for every resident.

As a family, we are very happy with the care my father is receiving at April Court. We are always kept up to date with any health issues. The staff are very friendly and caring, but still efficient. My father has settled in very well and says he is very happy there, although he would rather be in his

are encouraged to use it. The rooms are clean & furnished and all residents are treated with care and dignity. I particularly like the social media page which always shows the residents enjoying themselves.

As a family we have nothing but praise for the amazing staff team here. The process of admission was seamless and handled with dignity, compassion and empathy for us all as a family. The staff go over and above to ensure Dad is cared for, they also have made the effort to get to know his grandchildren,
and great children, knowing them all by name. This is what care should look like for everyone, not only caring for the resident but for the family too as it is a very difficult time for everyone involved. As an ex Care Home Manager, I would be so proud of this staff team, and we will be eternally grateful for the care they give to our Dad.
Thank you to everyone at Crosfield House.

Our experience of Crosfield House as a family has been very good. My mum has complex and developing needs. The care team are exemplary, the management responsive + supportive, and the welness team help to keep care personalised and the entertainment varied. I am an ex care manager so I have some idea
of what first class care looks and feels like. I'm grateful to CH for keeping mum safe and cared for. (They also make us welcome as visitors)

The Beeches Care Home

My mother June was resident at The Beeches for just 4 months but in that short time she was treated like a Queen! The care and kindness shown by every single care + nursing staff member was second to none. They showed empathy and gentle patience to my mother. I believe she lived longer just by living
at the home and receiving the care by staff. The management too were wonderful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Reply from Wayne Rees, Head of Region at The Beeches Care HomeThank you so much for sharing your kind words. We are touched to hear that your mother felt so cared for during her time with us. Anwen Care Home

Mum moved in 6 weeks ago, after 8 years in various care homes which Anwen outshines in so many ways. Ewa's positive, warm & professional ethos eminates through to all her staff: cleaners, laundry, kitchen, care staff, nurses & business support. Mum loves their beaming smiles. They clearly love their
work and are all trained in & passionate about dementia care. The activities duo light up the room with their enthusiasm, energy and ideas, and are born naturals, sometimes also seeing Mum 1:1 in her room.
Mum is frail, hoisted and needs help with everything. I love the way staff take care to coordinate her outfits, pamper her, find her TV programmes and remember to make her favourite cappuccinos! Seating which is comfortable & mobile between rooms has been a challenge. Also many residents on her floor have limited conversation & can seem disturbed at times which Mum has found disappointing, but she feels happy sitting by the window in her lovely airy room.
Reply from Ewa Lewinska-Owen, Registered Manager at Anwen Care HomeThank you so much for sharing your thoughts. We are thrilled to hear that your lovely Mum has settled in so well and is enjoying the personal touches, activities, and the dedication our team brings to dementia care. We also appreciate your feedback regarding seating and the social environment and will take your comments on board. Please don't hesitate to reach out at any time; we are always here to support you and your Mum.

My husband has been in Brynwood for two weeks now and from the day he arrived he has been amazingly well cared for.
The home feels warm and welcoming and my husband has space to be himself. I could see him relax into this lovely atmosphere as soon as he arrived and I feel that this has really helped
him to settle into his new environment.
The staff are clearly well trained and are always kind and respectful to residents, rapidly responding to their individual needs as they arise.
Thank you Brynwood staff, I am so glad that my husband is here with you

Anwen Care Home

My mum moved into Anwen in August after spending several months in hospital. At a young and spritely 73 visiting care homes was something that was never on our radar this time last year but her condition (Alzheimers) deteriorated so suddenly and at such a rate that the decision was taken out of our
hands. Against dad's will I dragged him around to visit a number of homes and he left every one in tears... except Anwen! As soon as we walked in we knew this was who we trusted to look after our loved one!

The staff are genuinely second to none and care for mum as if she were their own family member with genuine empathy, sensitivity and a cheeky smile which, although she struggles now to speak, mum returns every time! The variation of activities on offer and boundless enthusiasm with which they are run is a genuine pleasure to see. Residents always seem happy and busy and it's so heartwarming to see them making genuine friendships!

I'm forever grateful we found Anwen for mum!

Reply from Ewa Lewinska-Owen, Registered Manager at Anwen Care HomeThank you so much for your review and for sharing your family's experience with us. Cartref Annwyl-Fan Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum needed residential care and I chose Annwyl Fan as I used to work with some of the staff at a different care home, they left and moved to Annwyl Fan probably 5 years ago and are still there which, to me, speaks volumes. However, that turned out to be only half of it! Mum has been there 8 weeks
or so and I couldn't be happier, all of the staff are lovely, the home is clean and warm, the food is excellent and the entertainment second to none. My mum has gone from being on her own and sleeping most of the day in between her care visits to being interactive and engaged with the staff and residents. She's sung, danced, baked, carved a pumpkin and done jigsaws. She's had her hair done twice and seen the chiropodist. I've taken her to the beach and within 2 minutes of getting back she's sat with a cup of tea and some cake. As I said at the beginning I couldn't be happier, she's having a fabulous time and I can relax as I know she's safe. Thank you Annwyl Fan.
Reply from Joanna Williams, Registered Manager at Cartref Annwyl-Fan Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a wonderful review.
