St Mark's Court Care Home

My mother has settled into the home, it's all new to her and her family as she previously lived in sheltered accommodation, but due to a fall and a long stay at hospital she was not safe to be on her own anymore. It's taken a while for her to adjust but she has now settled in with the routine of the
nursing home. The staff are friendly and helpful and treat her with respect. The food is cooked on site and is always nice. Any problems have been reported to the management and dealt with promptly. I would recommend this home to families with elderly relatives.
Reply from Gemma Howells, Head of Marketing at St Mark's Court Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share this thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that your mother has settled into life at St Mark's. Moving from sheltered accommodation into a nursing environment can be a big change, and we're pleased that with time, support and routine, she has begun to feel comfortable and at ease.
It's wonderful to hear your kind words about our team. We take great pride in providing friendly, respectful and person-centred care, and feedback like yours means a great deal to the staff who support your mother every day.
Thank you again for your recommendation , it truly means a lot.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother has been a resident at Cwm Cartref for three and half years progressing from residential to nursing care. The management and staff have always treated my mother with care and respect as well as providing invaluable advice and support to myself and the wider family during health challenges
through Dementia.
Cwm Cartref takes pride in its service and is always well-maintained, clean, and well-presented. Circulation areas are welcoming.
Visitors are welcome at any time and are encouraged to participate in activities. It's a very caring and family-orientated environment and I am satisfied with the care and support that my mother receives. The facility would benefit from more staff providing further care and support for all residents in social activities as their condition deteriorates..
I would highly recommend and thank all (including other families) for their ongoing support.
Reply from Gemma Howells, Head of Marketing at Cwm Cartref Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your review. We used April Court Care Home for respite for my husband for 3 wks in Dec/Jan 2026. We have been v.satisfied with the dedicated care provided by carers + nurses with total respect and dignity. Most of all, I was able to keep in touch in messaging and video calling my husband from 3000 miles away on

Glain House

from Angela E (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 February 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
When we suddenly found we needed a care home that could take both my parents with different needs very quickly, we were very worried that this wouldn't be possible. Glain House was a huge stroke of luck for us and we are so glad mum and dad ended up there. The managers came out to see mum and dad and
have been very involved throughout, which is really reassuring. Staff at the care home are amazing, taking great care of my parents and always welcoming us when my sister or I visit too.
My dad who has Alzheimer's is now much safer. My mum who needs palliative care is feeling much relieved from caring for dad, and I haven't seen her smile so much in ages. The staff are very aware that mum and dad need to be together each day and make sure this happens.
I checked the reviews on carehome.co.uk before they went to Glain House and we were all much reassured - it was great for mum to be able to get an idea of what it would be like beforehand.
Reply from Gemma Howells, Head of Marketing at Glain HouseThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. We are truly grateful for your kind words, and it means a great deal to the whole team at Glain House. We understand how overwhelming it can feel when care is needed quickly, especially when supporting two loved ones with very different needs. We are so pleased we were able to help at a difficult time and offer a place where both your mum and dad could feel safe, supported, and together. Our team will be delighted to know that their involvement has been reassuring for you and your family. Thank you again for sharing your experience.

Overall, happy with Plasgellar Care Home. On occasions, it is somewhat upsetting to see my husband's chest area very wet from where he dribbles. I feel he needs to be changed more often when this happens. I have provided lots of cravats/bibs to help with this problem.

My sister and I met with Glain House management on 9th January, looking for a placement for both our parents as an urgent measure, and were given an excellent first impression. Management obviously care deeply about their responsibilities in the care home. Mum and Dad were accepted into Glain House
and the level of care they are receiving is outstanding. All the staff are well trained, very kind, and friendly to our parents. They have settled into their new home very well and are getting the care they need. Mum is having palliative care and Dad has late stage Alzheimer's. A big thank you from my sister and I to Glain House. We would definitely recommend them!

My sister moved to The Beeches 3 months ago for nursing care, as her needs had increased beyond what her previous care home felt they could provide. I've seen a big improvement in her general wellbeing. She seems much happier and more content in herself, whereas she had often seemed quite anxious &
upset previously. I feel goodness prevails in this place. The care & love shown by all the staff, has uplifted our spirits during a difficult time of change. Thank you everyone.

Our team works hard to create a caring, uplifting, and reassuring environment for every resident, and your kind words about the love and compassion shown by our staff mean a great deal to everyone here. The care mum gets at Cwm Cartref is excellent. All the staff are very helpful and patient. The activities and facilities are first class. There were many events and activities throughout the festive season, and there is plenty more to brighten up a gloomy January.
I feel included in my mum's care
at all times and am informed of any changes very promptly. The atmosphere is always calm and welcoming, whatever the time of day I visit. Nothing seems too much trouble. Mum is definitely well looked after and as comfortable as she can be despite her many healthcare needs.

After coming to view Treetops for the first time, for a care home for my dad, it was so welcoming, bright and homely. Dad moved in to Treetops in June 2024, and loved his new room. Dad enjoyed the company of other residents and the staff. As I live in Cornwall, it was such a blessing to know my dad
was in a safe and caring environment. The staff are all wonderful, with a wide variety of activities to keep all residents stimulated and lovely food options. Sadly, Dad passed away in August 2025, but in that time, he was at Treetops he was treated with, love, care and dignity. Thank you.

Our experience is good but we feel we have not been informed of where mum's health/care plan is without us asking. We would like a regular meeting to inform us more. However, we feel everyone is very caring towards our mum and family. Thank you.

April Court Care Home

As a family, we are very happy with the care my father is receiving at April Court. We are always kept up to date with any health issues. The staff are very friendly and caring, but still efficient. My father has settled in very well and says he is very happy there, although he would rather be in his
own home if that had been a possibility. I would not hesitate to recommend April Court.
