The support that everyone at Glain House provides to my dad continues to be excellent. I hate the idea of giving 5 stars to everything, but I simply cannot fault what all the staff there do for him. Beyond looking after daily needs - all of which they handle with never any fuss - the considered medical
care plus the imaginative activities and the love and energy the staff bring to every interation mean he really is getting as much as he can out of every day.
A special note for the effort Glain puts in when residents have a celebration. The afternoon tea my dad was recently treated to was 'knock it out of the park' impressive. All the staff who organised and ran the event should feel proud of their huge contribution to making his day special.
Reply from Chris Adamowicz, Home Manager at Glain HouseThank you so much for your incredibly kind and thoughtful five-star review. It truly means a great deal to all of us at Glain House. Our team is passionate about supporting not just the clinical and daily needs of our residents, but also their wellbeing, happiness, and sense of fulfilment and it's wonderful to know that this is making a positive difference for your dad.
Your kind words about our staff's dedication, compassion, and energy will be shared with the whole team, who work so hard to create a warm and engaging environment for everyone in our care. We're especially pleased that your dad's afternoon tea celebration was such a success. Creating meaningful and memorable moments is something we truly value, and it's lovely to hear that the occasion made his day so special.
Thank you again for your support and trust. It is a privilege to care for your dad.

Our mother, a resident for 3 years in this wonderful 'open door policy' home, feels safe, secure, and very happy. Needs are met with care and dignity. Although immobile, using suitable equipment, staff involve her with activities, meal times or just relaxing in the lounge. Having a specific dietary
choice, catering staff prepare a variety of fresh, delicious, nutritionally balanced meals. It is kept spotless, by cheerful domestic staff. The carers, like family, are wonderful, attending any needs promptly, with care and dignity. Nursing needs are tented by a team of competent nursing staff, also with friendly knowledge, care and dignity, keeping us well informed. Plentiful entertainment provides the individual resident with variety, suitable to their needs, also enabling & encouraging residents into the beautiful garden. Importantly, the home is managed so competently by an actual Nurse, who's knowledge makes her very approachable, giving us total reassurance on how the home is run.
Reply from Becci Roberts, Home Manager at The Court Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. It truly means a great deal to our entire team. We are delighted to hear that your mother feels safe, secure, and happy in our home. This is always our highest priority. It's wonderful to know that our team's efforts to provide care with dignity and respect, while supporting her individual needs, are making a positive difference to her daily life. Your kind feedback about our carers, nursing team, domestic and catering staff is truly appreciated. We're pleased your mother enjoys the activities, meals, and time in our home and garden.
We are also very pleased that you feel reassured by our management and communication. Maintaining an open, welcoming environment for residents and their families is incredibly important to us, and your feedback reflects the values we strive to uphold every day.
Thank you again for your trust and support over the past three years. It is a privilege to care for your mother.

It was a very emotional time for us as a family when my grandmother moved into care, but from the moment she arrived at Glain House, we felt a real sense of reassurance that she was in the right place. The staff have shown such consistent kindness, patience and genuine care that it has made all the
difference to us. They treat her with real dignity and warmth, always taking time to speak with her properly and understand what makes her comfortable and happy. The little personal touches they notice and remember mean so much and it's clear she is truly valued as an individual. Knowing she is safe and

Choosing a care home for my mum was the hardest decision, but from the moment she arrived, the staff made us feel we had absolutely made the right choice. The love, kindness and genuine compassion shown to her daily, is nothing short of extraordinary. They do not just care for her needs, they care for
her as a person. They know what makes her smile, when she needs reassurance & treat her with such dignity and affection, it feels like she is surrounded by extended family. All staff go above and beyond and their kindness means the world to us. Seeing mum comfortable, respected and safe gives us peace. The atmosphere is always welcoming and filled with genuine care. The staff show incredible professionalism alongside such heartfelt compassion. Their dedication shines through in everything they do. When we suddenly found we needed a care home that could take both my parents with different needs very quickly, we were very worried that this wouldn't be possible. Glain House was a huge stroke of luck for us and we are so glad mum and dad ended up there. The managers came out to see mum and dad and
have been very involved throughout, which is really reassuring. Staff at the care home are amazing, taking great care of my parents and always welcoming us when my sister or I visit too.
My dad who has Alzheimer's is now much safer. My mum who needs palliative care is feeling much relieved from caring for dad, and I haven't seen her smile so much in ages. The staff are very aware that mum and dad need to be together each day and make sure this happens.
I checked the reviews on carehome.co.uk before they went to Glain House and we were all much reassured - it was great for mum to be able to get an idea of what it would be like beforehand.

My sister and I met with Glain House management on 9th January, looking for a placement for both our parents as an urgent measure, and were given an excellent first impression. Management obviously care deeply about their responsibilities in the care home. Mum and Dad were accepted into Glain House
and the level of care they are receiving is outstanding. All the staff are well trained, very kind, and friendly to our parents. They have settled into their new home very well and are getting the care they need. Mum is having palliative care and Dad has late stage Alzheimer's. A big thank you from my sister and I to Glain House. We would definitely recommend them!

The Court Nursing Home (or Ely Court as called in our family) became home for my mother for the last 10 months of her life. The wonderfully caring and friendly team treated Mum like a member of their own family. Everyone knew her name and gave her so much love and care and, most importantly, gave her
their time.
The opening of the new garden in May made a real difference and Mum enjoyed the peace, the smells and the quiet places. The home is very professionally run by a dedicated team of people who all work well together and clearly enjoy their roles. We were welcomed as a family to visit at any time and nothing was ever too much trouble. The modern accommodation was very comfortable, with really practical bathrooms and other appropriate furnishings, to make living and mobility as easy as possible, with everything being scrupulously clean. Mum also enjoyed the food, both in choice and quality.
We will miss Ely Court but so appreciate all that they did for our wonderful Mum.

The home have been fantastic caring for mum over the last 4 years with her dementia. I found all the staff to be caring for my mother to a high level. Also their genuine care & concern for their residents impressed me far more than just them doing "their jobs" as it were. When I've had queries, they
have always given me their full attention & support despite their heavy work loads. Examples help to demonstrate this 1. My father visited Mum twice a week & they always supported him as well to make the most of their time together. They would allow them to have some quality time & to eat together. 2. They recently celebrated their 70th anniversary & my sister & I were given the opportunity to use a room to have a celebration with family & friends which was really appreciated.
3. My father once had an issue with his walking aid & she kindly arranged for a workman on site to do a temporary fix on it. Thank you again so much for caring for Mum whilst she was in your care!

I would highly recommend this nursing home to anyone. It has a very high standard of care and is easily accessible for anyone using public transport.
Our mum was admitted there in the spring of 2024. Prior to that she spent just over a month in a nursing home which we were not at all happy with, because
it did not provide the specific care she needed as a person with dementia, although the staff were aware of her condition.
When we moved her to Glain House it was a great relief to us. The room was lovely and bright, with a well-equipped en-suite bathroom. She perked up considerably after the move, and was much more communicative, although she was very frail. She was very well cared for; all the staff were very friendly and professional, and attentive to her needs. They did all they could to make her comfortable for the last few months of her life, and for that we are deeply grateful.
Reply from Chris Adamowicz, General Manager at Glain HouseThank you for your kind words and for trusting us with your mum's care. We are deeply grateful for your recommendation and send our best wishes to you and your family.

It was a comfort to see my father in such a caring, sympathetic & gracious involvement, especially the compassion of the staff from the management & medical & carers. Their interaction with those in need & their thoughtfulness for the residents and those who visit loved ones. It has become reassuring

We are very lucky we found this place for my brother 18 months ago when he was deteriorating with a neurological condition. The care he has received has been exceptional. The staff are amazing and all of them seem to be glad to work there and there's very little staff turnover. My brother took a long
time to adjust to the change when he moved to Ely Court (due in part to his condition) but is now genuinely happy there and doesn't hesitate to say it's his home. The activities programme is impressive and now 7 days a week, and my brother is happy to join in those activities he likes but also content to entertain himself in his room at other times. When the new garden is complete this will make quite a difference for my brother because if there's any criticism it's the lack of exercise available to him (as an adult in his 50s) and I'm sure circuits of the new garden will become part of his routine once it's finished.
Reply from Becci Roberts, Registered Manager at The Court Care HomeThank you for your kind words and for sharing your brother's experience with us. Our team takes great pride in providing compassionate, high-quality care, and it's wonderful to know their dedication has made a positive impact. We chose Glain House after visiting many homes in Cardiff because it was light and airy, the corridors and the rooms were big, it did not feel like a hospital and there was an outside space. We also liked the living space which was a very large area of a combined living room and dining area. My mum
also has a sister there and was recommended by her relatives.
My father stayed there for nine months before he passed away in the early days of 2025. The staff were very sensitive and helpful during this time.
My Mum enjoyed joining in the activities during visits to my father. Visiting family and friends are made very welcome and are encouraged to visit as often as possible. The visiting times are not restricted I would quite often arrive
at the home at 8:30 in the evening.
The staff were helpful and professional, they would do anything they could to help me and my Mum.

My father is being cared for by some wonderful people.
They are very kind and they always have a smile when I visit, they go out of their way to make their patients happy and at home.
But I am reviewing because they work so very hard on what seems like low staffing. Caron Group need to look after
their staff and be aware of their needs as if these members of staff give up through working too hard with no appreciation from Caron Group they won't have a care home to profit off any longer. Thank you to the staff. Any lack of stars is directed at not enough staff to help existing staff have a better day.
Reply from Chris Adamowicz, General Manager at Glain HouseThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly value the hard work and dedication our team puts into providing the best care and support for our residents. It's always wonderful to see that recognised, we ourselves have various ways in which we additionally acknowledge the dedication of our team, both from within the home and via Caron Group. Regarding staffing levels, please know that we are continually reviewing our team requirements to ensure we meet the needs of our residents effectively. These involve thoughtful discussions between the Home Management team and Caron Group's Central Support, working together to reach a consensus on the best approach. It's difficult to describe how good Ely Court Care Home is. Every single member of staff has a very warm, welcoming and friendly manner towards residents and their family and friends. Real effort is made to create a happy, supportive environment for all and those efforts have really paid off in creating
what must be the model for excellent care homes everywhere. Myself and family will never be able to thank all the staff for everything that they do for mum to enable her to be happy and have fun and laughter in her life after what has been a very difficult time for her. Since my wife has been at Glain House she has come on great. She is a different woman. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff or management.
