Glain House is a comfortable and welcoming care home care home situated in central Cardiff. The home is a short walk away from Cardiff Queen Street train station and is easily accessible by bus. The city’s main shopping centre, theatres, and a range of bars and restaurants are all close by.

The spacious home encompasses a range of features including numerous communal and quiet lounges, a roof garden, a veranda and an accessible garden (all outdoor areas are wheelchair accessible). In addition, all bedrooms have en-suite facilities.   

High quality care is delivered by an experienced team of staff and the care team strive to create a homely environment where residents feel included, listened to and stimulated. Care plans are tailored dependent on individual needs, and resident satisfaction is the homes number one priority. Structured activities and planned entertainment is a regular occurrence and family and friends are encouraged to partake in home life.

I can’t begin to tell you how much this place did for our dad and us. Both my wife and I are nurses by profession and the carers and nurses here (as well as the great GPs who look after the residents too) can’t do enough. They reminded me why we became nurses in the first place and there is no doubt
in my mind while those folk remain that this is the best there is. The bricks and mortar don’t make a home a care home it’s the staff and residents. In that sense there is no finer place. We were dreading “putting dad in a home” but could not really cope anymore. These people in here became our family too and chatted laughed cared and ultimately cried with us and dad at the end. Nursing 101.


I am known to be an awkward customer when it comes to nursing standards but I am still in love with these guys!

I would just like to say, how happy I am with the care and attention my mother is receiving. She is holding conversations, asking questions and recognising visitors. It is true to say I have not seen her so well for 7 years.
