Glais House is a unique, warm and welcoming nursing home based in Swansea. The home is situated on 4 acres of well-kept gardens, home to local wildlife and protected trees and an outdoor patios.

Glais House believe that having spacious and green environment makes a difference and enriches the lives of residents at the home.

Rooms at Glais House are bright and welcoming, with each room furnished with a profiling bed and WiFi. Residents at Glais House also have access to spa baths that can play residents’ favourite songs.

My mother was very happy and told me that the staff there were lovely. They are always cheerful and can't do enough for the residents. There are lots of activities every week, and the family are invited to join in. We are made to feel very welcome. All the staff always appear happy and create a welcoming
atmosphere for family and friends. Seeing my mother so well cared for makes me feel happy.

My sister and I come every three weeks or so to see our cousin. We visited today and as usual she was well cared for. She is very happy here and likes all the staff. She has a lovely bedroom, to which her daughter has added familiar possessions (photos etc.).

Mum has been at Glais House for 14 months. The improvement in her health (mental and physical) is attributable to the professional and loving care of the staff (all of them). She now feels safe and secure. She is well loved, care is taken to ensure she gets outdoors whenever the weather permits. Following
a nasty fall, when mobility was badly affected, every staff member helped and encouraged Mum to work hard to regain her previous level of self-care and mobility. Miraculous! Full marks to all of you. She remains strong, determined and such a pleasure to visit. We feel blessed. Thank you.

My father and I chose Glais House based on previous visits looking for a home for his late wife. He and I have not been disappointed as the standard of care has met all our expectations. When I visit Dad I check every time that he remains happy and looked after and he remains very happy with all aspects
of life at Glais House. I have witnessed interactions between Dad and staff and they have at all times been respectful, caring and supportive. He has been in the home since February 2021 and remains happy, content and comfortable.

I am very happy that Glais House made my mother and our family very welcome at the Jubille party in the grounds. The food was delicious and the atmosphere warm and inviting. The music and animals helped everyone to relax after Covid. The carers were attentive and kind to everyone, just as they always

After a fall my dad had been hospitalised for two months and then put in an interim placement at a care home - all by social services. During all this time he was classed as bed bound so for around five months never showered or moved from his bed. Within seven days of being at Glais House, he had been
showered and was sitting in an armchair - magical.

An extremely well run and clean establishment. Staff are qualified, very helpful and care for the residents. My father is a more recent resident, and due to Covid restrictions, I am unable to quantify marks for food, facilities and activities as access is difficult, but I will say my father is happy
in his environment and wants to stay. He is also putting on weight! Value for money is difficult and unfair question and a political bone of contention eg, "what price do you put on care"! There is always a price. My father has worked all his life and paid his dues, but now pays for his own care. If he hadn't had nothing, it would cost him a lot less! The care home provides super service, overheads, quality, qualified staff are not cheap and costs can seem unfair, but it is a business. If it were not for the homes, many would suffer.

My mother, who has dementia, has been a resident at Glais House for almost two years, during which time she has been very well cared for and is happy and contented. Glais House is a warm, friendly, welcoming home with a unique family atmosphere. The staff are very caring and treat the residents with
respect and dignity. The management are very approachable, who will listen and take on board any concerns or issues and take the appropriate action where necessary.

In January 2019 we had to move our cousin from his residential home of 8 years due to the deterioration in his health. We had been very worried about finding him a new home and what effect that moving him would have on him. Finding Glais House was the answer to our prayers. The atmosphere is lovely
and the staff exude that perfect combination of solid professionalism with a very caring attitude. Our cousin thrived. We will be eternally grateful to the staff for being his substitute family during the pandemic and keeping us updated via phone and videos.
Our cousin's health deteriorated in January and he passed away. The staff could not have been more caring, empathic and well organised during this period. We could not have asked for better care for him - or for us - over these last two years.

My father has been a resident since August 2020 during the covid lockdown. The care home have succeeded magnificently during these most difficult times. I have been unable to meet my father and have had to rely totally on feedback as Skype communication is not feasible due to my father's advanced dementia.
The home have gone out of their way to report back by describing my father's condition in a totally honest way, which my family do appreciate. My father seems so settled, is eating well, (who wouldn't with their fantastic chef) has put on weight and looks so well and presentable. (VCR is essential for this). The staff go out of their way to care for my father, he has been introduced to other residents and has made so many friends. If it was not for the dedication of the staff, we would have found the lockdown experience unbearable. I only hope that the situation does improve and once again we can meet and hug our loved ones. Bring on the vaccine.

My dad has lived at Glais House for the past 14 years and due to their care and support, they have treated dad with the utmost dignity. Nothing is too much for the carers and management. The care team are amazing, each and everyone play a special part in caring for my loved one. The love, care and respect

My brother and I chose this care home for our mother.
We are very pleased to see how well she settled in Glais; how her disposition has improved since moving in just over four months ago, after having to leave the family home where she lived alone. She now has a structure to her day, eating well and
thoroughly enjoys the companionship of residents and staff.
The care home is situated in a pleasant location with well-maintained gardens and stunning views. The spacious day room is light and airy, comfortably furnished with easy access to the garden seating area.
The management team provide a highly professional service - they kept the residents safe by introducing lockdown measures well in advance, coupled with testing facilities and contingency plans. All staff are kind, welcoming and friendly.
We have been kept well informed of our mother's health and needs by phone and Skype. The Facebook site is regularly updated with photos of recent activities giving easy access to relatives.

I have over 20 years of experience of working in Human resources. I have worked at Glais House for the past 11 years. I find the home to be exceptional in its care, as I had my own Mother here as a resident for a while. It has a very warm and cosy atmosphere with attentive and caring staff to look after the residents.
