A lovely small family-run home with 28 residents - consistency of the same staff and all have a lovely rapport with the residents. Very clean and modern - good activities and entertainment throughout the year. Homemade food, good variety - any questions needed to be answered - the staff will help in any way.
We find this home fantastic. From the owners to all the staff - they are very caring in all aspects. They all go that extra mile for the residents. It's a lovely home.
An excellent care home I would highly recommend it. The home itself is kept spotless always smelling clean and fresh, well-maintained furnishings and fixtures and decor very homely. The staff are always kind, compassionate, helpful and treat the residents with dignity and respect. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is freshly made good quality and variety of menu choices available. My aunty's health and well-being have greatly improved since her move to Swn-Y-Gan.
My mother in law likes sharing a room as it makes her feel safe and she enjoys all the entertainment.
As a family, we are happy and confident that the resident is having the best possible care whilst we are going about our everyday lives.
The staff provide the utmost care and attention to all care users and nothing is too much trouble.
Swn-y-Gan offers a home-from-home attitude and every effort is made to make my mothers stay as welcoming and comfortable as possible.
The home is always smelling pleasant and is clean.
When I am too old to look after myself, I would be happy to be cared for in Swn-y-Gan.
My husband has Alzheimer's and I had to find a nursing home. I visited two a day in the Swansea and outskirts. After visiting for three weeks I asked myself which would I like to visit and be happy with him being in. When I visited the home I felt this was the one. He has been there one month and seems to have settled there and is looked after really well.
Having visited most of the nursing homes in Swansea and having had direct experience of three others within the last 18 months Swn-y-Gan stands head and shoulders above everything I've seen in terms care management and friendliness. The residents are genuinely cared for. The staff are carers in reality not just a job title. The open welcome to all visitors is unrivalled compared to the chilling indifference experienced elsewhere. Residents are afforded dignity and tolerance. Nothing is too much trouble and requests are dealt with promptly, with kindness and humour. This is how care should be. A centre of excellence.
My mother came to this home in March 2008 at the age of 92 years and in July of this year, 2016 celebrated her 100th birthday there. She has always had wonderful care from all the staff from day one up to the present time. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them and as my Mum is bed bound now, then that care is exceptional. The food is excellent and all the rooms are the same. Everything is spotless and in its place. A truly magnificent nursing home.
Staff are professional and compassionate towards my mother and immediate family. My mother is treated with warmth and respect at all times. My mother told a relative it was the best hotel in Gover.
Swn-y-Gan is a home from home. Staff make sure residents are cared for both from a medical and social perspective. Relatives and visitors are made to feel welcome and where possible residents views on any improvement e.g menus, social gatherings are sought and catered for. I can honestly say from the kitchen staff through to the matron all are considerate, friendly approachable and care for their residents.
Swn-y-Gan is a lovely small privately owned Nursing Home in village surroundings with very competent, efficient and friendly staff. The rooms are clean and bright and the atmosphere is homely. The home cooked food and cakes are superb. Mum receives excellent care medically, on a day to day basis, and her psychological needs are looked after as well. Nothing is too much trouble and she has improved loads since she’s been there thanks to their care and nurturing. The staff are always there for you too, should the need arise. I would recommend this wonderful home to anybody.
