Prior to March 2020 when the national lockdown occurred due to Coronavirus, I visited my sister on a weekly basis. I found her to be happy with the staff and her surroundings. I was also happy and built up a good relationship with all concerned, joining in with the activities provided. However, I have
only seen my sister once since lockdown commenced and that was a garden visit, so therefore I cannot really comment on how things are going on at Parklands Care Home. However, I do phone regularly and am always told that my sister is fine and in good spirits.

Could not be more grateful for the wonderful care that my mum receives from the staff at Parklands. The staff have become mum's family in there during these difficult times something they have embraced and willingly do with great care and genuine dignity. It is a real comfort for our family to know
that mum is in a caring environment where she is safe, well fed and above all, happy. A big thank you to all at Parklands.

Care very good as Dad's settled in from day one. The room needs attention and could be a little cleaner. He gets his days but is 90 after all. Laundry needs a better system. The room needs carpet. Overall very good as his care takes priority.

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. During recent months, the levels of cleanliness in our home and infection control practices have been a big priority, and as such, we have maintained high levels of cleanliness throughout. Anti-slip vinyl flooring increases the effectiveness of sanitation and cleanliness in bedrooms and is our preferred choice for our residents own rooms. Part of our enhanced infection control practices this has included our laundry and linen management. We aim to return laundry to resident bedrooms within 24 hours, and the effectiveness of this process is greatly improved by individualised, durable labelling to resident items to ensure they can be returned to the correct resident in a timely manner.

It is about 18 months since my sister came to Parklands, very infirm and quite miserable, non-cooperative. Since then she has, with encouragement, physically and mentall much improved and enjoys the activities etc. provided. I must congraulate the excursions organised and the effort made to make very

Parklands is in the process of acquiring a call bell management system which will allow the identification of trends and concerns on the system use and response times. My experience of Parklands has been positive. I've found staff to be pleasant and helpful and the facilities of the home suitable for the comfort of residents.
With regard to "activities" and "value for money". I am not able to comment.

I visit my auntie regularly and have always found the staff extremely helpful.
They always try to involve my auntie with activities although she is not able with her condition.
The food looks presentable. Her room is lovely. All good.

I am trying to adapt to my new surroundings as there is no place like home. I have found the transition difficult. All the staff are very caring and do their utmost to cater for my needs. I am finding difficulty in sleeping. I enjoy the food most of the time. It would be nice to have a resident who

There is now a good management team at Parklands.
The residents seem a lot happier and take part in the activities, enjoying themselves singing and joining in with everything.
It's nice to know if you have a problem, in my case my wife, don't be afraid, speak to the home manager or nurse.
My wife
has been ill 17 years on her next birthday and I'm glad to say my sons and family know my wife is well looked after at Parklands.

I find the staff really caring and understanding to everyone's needs, they are always smiling and seem to really enjoy the work they do for the elderly. The management are really easy to talk to and you don't feel that nothing is too much for them. I have seen a vast change in my Mother-in-law, she

“Kindness comes from the heart and it’s about being open and honest with Residents, relatives and members of the team.”


Alison has gained more than 25 years of experience in providing care and support for older people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest possible standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked at HC-One for a number of years before moving over to Parklands, Alison shares that HC-One’s vision is aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She uses her experience to motivate her team to deliver care and support in a way that Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby organisations and is always quick to welcome the local community into Parklands.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Alison said: “Spending time with Residents and listening to their views and any feedback they would like to share.”


Outside of work, Alison enjoys holidays abroad, speaking French and spending time with her family and friends.
