My wife has been in Bankview for over three years. When the family were looking for a suitable care home Bankview was top of the list and we have not been disappointed.
The staff have been ever so friendly and helpful to both my wife and myself.
For a while, my wife was refusing to sit down for her
meals. The staff would chase along the corridor with a sandwich or cake in hand to ensure she was not missing out. Fortunately, she has now got over this phase and appears to be eating them out of house and home.
Facilities are clean and tidy.
There are plenty of activities going on although my wife appears to enjoy the quieter life.
Reply from Julie Merrick, Service Manager at BankviewDear Ian, thank you for your kind words, we are pleased to hear you are happy with the care provided at Bankview.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. Facilities are clean and tidy. I enjoy the activities offered but am not forced to do them if I am not feeling up to it. Meals are generally good and I always find something I like to eat. I enjoy when taken out on trips and I am looking forward to my Christmas
outing.

My mother has stayed in Bankview for 4 years.
She has a big bright room with a nice view.
The staff are very friendly and will do anything to help.
There is always lots going on to entertain the residents, which I am impressed with, days out, pantos, singers, musicians etc.
The areas are all kept
clean and tidy.

My Aunt has now been in Bankview for 2 years and during this time, the health care provision has been generally good, but about 4-6 months ago, major changes were made in respect of management and staffing levels and this has resulted in a much higher level of service in all areas.
I feel the new internal
management has made huge changes which now puts Bankview as a leader in this field in Central Scotland.
Prior to my Aunt going into care, we spent a lot of time checking out care homes in our area and Bankview was seen at that time to be about the best available, but, while in the 2 years my Aunt has been there, we felt things were reasonable good, noticeable improvements in all areas have been made in the last 4-6 months as a result of restructuring and a much-improved commitment by staff at all levels.

After a period of mismanagement from September 2016 - May 2017. The home is now improving under the interim manager. The staff morale is much improved, the residents seem to be less agitated and more relaxed. The recruitment process is now in progress with a few new faces. Activity staff are very proactive
with lots of new ideas being implemented to enhance the residents.

My husband has been attending this daycare for over 4 years and would have no hesitation in recommending it. The staff are outstanding, always professional, very competent with a good sense of humour. Most have been there several years so can cope with anything. The management are always available to
discuss any problems.

My mum has been in Bankview for five years now, the standard of care has been very good. There have been some issues but they have been resolved. The home is in the process of new management, therefore, improvement for the benefit of residents is very apparent.

My mother has been a resident in Bankview for over 4 years. She is always spotlessly clean and well cared for. Staff are always very caring and helpful, taking time to discuss her wellbeing. She is always treated with dignity and respect. Since new management has taken over I am more than happy
with the changes that have taken place and with the long term plans she has for the care home.

The care which my gran receives at Bankview is excellent. She is always immaculate and all staff are very kind and caring. They always take time to listen to our queries and concerns and have been especially supportive when she was admitted to hospital recently. Entertainment and activities are well
organised for residents and their families and the recent open day was fabulous. We are always made feel at home when we visit and nothing is a bother to any of the staff. I would highly recommend this care home.

I am the service users wife and carer and I know my husband loves going to daycare at Bankview. He has dementia and is unable to speak but understands everything being said.
He really loves going and the staff are excellent with him and me. They are always smiling and friendly and take good care of
the day patients.
Plenty to occupy them with different activities and well fed and taken care of.
I don't know what I would do without the staff.
Including the mini bus staff, so friendly.

My mum is well cared for. Staff know her and her ways very well. Staff are patient and understanding and manage her behaviour with patience and a sense of humour. They treat her with the respect she is due. I can relax in the knowledge that mum is looked after, as I can't manage many visits due to long
working hours.

My grandmother entered Bankview with many ongoing health issues but mainly dementia that was difficult to manage in her care. The staff welcomed her in and have cared for her in such a remarkable way. She is now content and is looking well and putting weight on. Staff always open and honest and listen
to family views and concerns.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.845)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.845) out of 10 for Bankview is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 40 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.845 for Bankview is calculated as follows: ( (413 Excellents x 5) + (52 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 476 Ratings = 4.845
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bankview is based on 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13, which has been reached with 40 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
