From the outset this Care Home proved to be welcoming and friendly. All staff made residents and visitors feel that they belonged, in this, their "home".
Systems are in place to cover all eventualities and relatives are kept informed of relevant information promptly.
Residents are helped to feel safe and secure and thus the settling in period is completed smoothly reassuring all concerned.

A wide variety of activities are provided on a regular basis. This stimulus, so helpful to the residents of the Care Home, benefits the participants enormously. Certainly this is a Care Home

My uncle came into Balfarg in February 2025 until his passing in December 2025. We all experienced the most wonderful kindness from everyone. Whilst the rooms are a bit tired, the loving care and attention he received was second to none. The end of life care was exceptional

Thankyou to all in Balfarg.

Balfarg has provided my mum with excellent care for 3 years now. Balfarg was our only choice of home as I feel it provided a home from home atmosphere. We are always made to feel welcome from the fantastic staff and are encouraged to visit at any time of day. The management are not only informative but are open to suggestion to provide the best possible care.

Hi My mum is a resident I'm Balfarg care home and we are so happy overall with her care but a special mention has to be said for her 70th birthday in early October where all the staff went above and beyond to make sure she had an amazing day, which she did along with all her family. My father was in there for 10 days start of april. The whole place was smell of amonia an pee .told the the staff that he was unresponsive. The answer i got back was that he had just had a big meal and was napping. It took all of sunday in monday morning before he got took to hospital. He imediatelly got diagnosed with pneumonia and passed 5 days later also after 5 days he was attacked and punched about the head. On saturday i went he was slumped to the side of chair. I would not recomend this care home.

My dad was diagnosed with a terminal illness in April and on finally leaving hospital care, spent his final four months in Balfarg Nursing Home up until he passed in October. The difference in my dad's mood, mobility and appetite remarkably improved when he moved here. He enjoyed participating in the various and regular activities provided. He made many friends in that short time with both staff and other residents, he felt safe, well cared for and who could ask for more. The support the staff offered was faultless both to my father and to myself after he passed. Staff took time to speak to me about their memories with him and show photographs which helped give me peace of mind that we chose the perfect place for him to spend his final months.

Balfarg Care Home is a wonderful home for our mother, now aged 82. All of the staff are caring, friendly and approachable; they all go out of their way to ensure everyone is well looked after.
Our mum is immobile now and the staff take every care to ensure she does not suffer from pressure sores, taking preventative measures. They communicate all changes in Mum's care with the family and review her care plan on a monthly making her 'resident of the day' to ensure we are happy with the care she is receiving.

We, as a family, have absolutely nothing but praise for the care Mum receives and for the caring staff who provide that care.

Mum has been at Balfarg Care Home for fourteen months and has settled in very well, she is more happy and contented than I would have ever though possible. Any friends and family visiting her have commented very favourably on Balfarg and I am most grateful for all the kindness and care shown to Mum by the staff and management. I would happily recommend this care home to others.

Possibly the best care home in Fife. My mother has been here for more than 2 years. My father, for 4 months before he passed 2 weeks ago. The staff are just fantastic. They are funny, silly, energetic, and so, so empathetic with the residents. Their patience is amazing, I know this as my dad was very challenging due to his dementia. They didn’t judge, they treated him with such respect and humility as they dodged his punches and violence. I can only hold my hat to these seriously underpaid, undervalued beautiful human beings who take the amount of abuse they do and turn up for work every day, I and my family will always be in your debt.

I find that meeting carer, nurse and social workers and discussing all prospects of my husband's care very satisfying. The care home is lovely I have no complaints of any kind about all the staff, food, entertainment and cleanliness etc. They are all second to none. I visit my husband and I can go back home, knowing that my husband is being well cared for. Big thank you to all.

I've been visiting Balfarg Care Home since July this year. This was my first experience of bringing a therapy dog into a home and I was made to feel very welcome. I was given excellent assistance and information on the home and its residents by the activity coordinators. This is still the case today, the administrator is polite and helpful. I have got to know the staff, they are friendly and caring and always busy. A lovely environment.

The staff at the home are very caring and considerate, not just to my mother but to my family as well. My mum just had a birthday and the home put on a wee lunch to celebrate which was absolutely perfect in every way. They put up balloons, table settings, a buffet and music. My mum thoroughly enjoyed her birthday and so did the other residents. I have peace of mind, knowing that my mum (and mother in law) is being looked after very well. Thank you to all staff.

When one is asked to find long-term care for a loved one, it is an emotional experience. But when I drove up to Balfarg Care Home, I immediately thought this is just like a home. When I enquired about a place for my wife, I was made to feel at ease and was shown around the home. The management and staff are so caring and respectful of such a difficult position you are in putting a loved one into care. The care my wife is receiving is the best I could ask for. Thanks to all the staff at Balfarg caring for my wife. Has to be the best care home in the area.

It has taken a short time for our mum to settle into her new surroundings. She is now enjoying her time at Balfarg. She is well cared for by the excellent staff. They appear to treat all of the residents with dignity and care whilst injecting some humour into the process. The meals and snacks always look to be of a high standard. Having an on-site hair salon, beautiful gardens to sit in and entertainment all contribute to the resident's quality of life. We wouldn’t want our mum staying anywhere else.
