My mother settled well into Cranford and is very happy there. She often comments on how kind and caring the staff are and I have found this to be true. They are very friendly and welcoming and always ready for a smile or a joke with my Mum. Before the pandemic, there was a variety of activities each
day and special events from time to time e.g. Christmas, Burns Night, Easter etc. There are few changes of staff and that has helped my mother and the family to get to know the carers. I think this is very important as it allows relationships to develop. The past year has, of course, been very difficult for everyone but the staff have tried to make sure that we have been able to stay in contact with phone calls, Facetime calls, Facebook posts and indoor/outdoor visits when allowed. The staff are very well led by the manager who regularly communicates with families in an open and honest way. I feel that I can discuss any concerns with her and that they will be acted upon.

My mum has been a resident for nearly two years. The staff are providing excellent care. They are always very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Cranford Care Home staff provide a safe, secure and nurturing environment for all their residents. My mum settled very quickly ad seems to be happy
and content.

My mum is extremely well looked after by a very caring team at Cranford. I would like to say a big thank you to you all for keeping the residents' spirits up in what has been a challenging year.
When indoor visits had to be suspended, due to the lockdown, we were able to stay in touch with a phone
call or FaceTime. I have now been lucky enough to visit Mum indoors again and am so grateful to the staff for their assistance with these visits which are very organised.
It is so good to be back in Cranford and I look forward to a visit in the summer house when the weather is warmer.

Thank you

My mum moved into Cranford Care Centre on February 2020. On Mother’s Day March 2020, it sadly closed its door to visitors, to keep residents safe. We were in a pandemic as Covid had arrived. With regular video calls every week, I have kept in contact with my mum. Every time I see my mum she looks very
happy and always smiling into the carers face - what more could you ask for. Seeing Mum so happy and looked after when I can’t get to visit her, is so comforting. Now I am looking forward to visiting my mum next week and can’t wait to see her. The team at Cranford have done an excellent job keeping all the residents safe and happy.
Thank you all.

My husband's nana has been in this home for about a year and has thoroughly enjoyed her time there. She's made a lot of friends and enjoys her time in the common area with everyone else. The staff look after her so well and they are so lovely when we visit.

We had a lovely visit to Cranford recently to visit my lovely cousin. Our first time here and what a pleasant surprise. The home itself is lovely, the features in the old building are stunning, lots of effort had been made for Christmas, well done. All the staff we met were lovely, we were made to
feel very welcome.

Felt I had to write to acknowledge and praise the wonderful care my cousin is receiving at Cranford Care Home. It was an absolute delight to visit recently and the staff are doing a fantastic job (each and every one of them). They even provided me with food and drink - afternoon tea is a huge hit, the
cakes were great.
I enjoyed the fact that they all know the residents well and families all felt so at home when visiting.
My cousin is enjoying her time at Cranford and seems to be settling in very well.
The home itself, is so lovely as is the setting.

Staff always very pleasant and polite. Home, generally, is always clean and tidy. I like that it's been painted recently and freshened up. I'm grateful to the staff for looking after my relative.

My mum became a resident of Cranford over 8 months ago, and due to the care, help and support she has received, she settled in very quickly and continues to enjoy being a resident here. I have always found the care team, nurses and management to be extremely helpful. There is a great variety of activities
arranged for residents which my mum enjoys taking part in. The centre itself is always very clean and tidy, as is my mum's bedroom and toilet. My mum says she is very happy with the food and enjoys the tea-parties. I feel the staff do everything they can to make residents feel at home.

Mum has been in the home for nearly a month and I have noticed big improvements in her health and wellbeing.
She has got her appetite back and is enjoying all the home bakes and home-made food.
Carers all doing their best and always willing to listen to any concerns we have.
Management and nurses
always there on hand if we need them.
Activities very good, always plenty for them to do.
I would highly recommend any of my friends and family to choose this home.

My mum in law has been a resident at Cranford Care Centre for approximately 19 months. Each and every member of staff has treated her with dignity and care. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. As a retired nurse, I know how demanding a job it can be. Everyone works as a team. Well done!

I was very impressed with the facilities on offer at this care home. On talking with staff and management who were very friendly and described how everything worked seemed well organised from the care and support down to meals and activities and safety and security. Rooms were very spacious and clean
and had everything close to hand you needed.

My sister and I dropped in at Cranford Care Centre without an appointment and were welcomed with warmth, respect and kindness. We were shown around the home and facilities. The lady who showed us around made sure that we were able to see all aspects of the home and she answered all of our questions
with openness. She explained the process regarding admission to the home and immediately made us feel that relatives were welcome and encouraged to be part of the care home family.
I am unable to comment personally on the care in the home, but I wanted to comment on the aspects that I did observe on our visit such as cleanliness which is very good and especially the immediate impression that we were made welcome as visitors and that the questions answered and involvement regarding relatives was part of the homes ethos.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.539)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.539) out of 10 for Cranford Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.739 for Cranford Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (70 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 92 Ratings = 4.739

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cranford Care Centre is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 39 registered maximum number of service users is 7.8, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
