My dad moved into the home in February, and we were delighted that he has settled in really quickly. My dad was so independent living on his own. All members of staff have been excellent at making him feel at home.

I have been very happy with the excellent care provided at Hawkhill. I have never passed a member of staff who is not smiling. The staff are always helpful whenever I have a question and I am always made to feel welcome. My client’s health has improved hugely as a result of the consistent care she has received. Thank you

We were impressed after our initial tour of Hawkhill House for my mum who has dementia and didn't feel that we needed to view anywhere else. Hawkhill House is very homely, the rooms are a good size and all with ensuite and tv's. It has an open-door policy so you can visit at any time, staff allow access and is therefore very secure. There are daily activities displayed on their wall which we like to look at. The staff are caring and treat residents with dignity. Mum has settled in and appears relaxed and happy there. Relatives are encouraged to make suggestions and feel involved. Excellent overall.

When I felt I could no longer care properly for my wife at home, I was very apprehensive about her moving into a nursing home.
From the moment I entered Hawkhill House, I was impressed by the general atmosphere and friendliness of the staff I met. Sadly, my wife was only in the home for four days and was unable to take part in activities other than watching the lovely pantomime put on by the staff. Throughout that time, everyone was extremely kind and caring and I knew she was being very well looked after.
I was impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the very obvious positive team spirit. It was clear that everyone enjoyed their work in Hawkhill and this good feeling is transmitted to visitors and residents.
The manager should be very proud of the team she has built up.

Thank you all very much for helping me and our family through such a difficult period in our lives.

My father is 96 and was admitted to Hawkhill House, a couple of weeks ago. Since that day, I have felt a sense of relief that my father is being so well cared for. He says the food is ‘first class’ and the nurses and staff are kind and caring. My experience with the Manager and her staff is that they are exceptional, kind, knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Every time I go to visit my father, they tell me where and how he is in the home – before I even ask.

I first rang Hawkhill 2 weeks ago to get help for my father (I live in New Zealand and had just arrived). The Manager and a senior Nurse came and assessed him within 3 hours, and with both his and my agreement, moved him into the care home the same day. Since then, his appetite, general demeanour, mobility and conversation have all improved beyond expectation. I can only thank them all for their continued kindness, calm professionalism and genuinely caring attitude, which prevails throughout Hawkhill House.

When I first came to visit my aunt, I was unhappy with what I saw and smelled. After having the opportunity to attend a family meeting, one nurse was very kind to answer all of my concerns, share the care plan and address my concerns.
It's very difficult to live so far away and depend on others to care for her.

I am going back to my home secure in the knowledge she is being well looked after.

I was invited to join my mother in preparing and then enjoying the meal which was cooked in situ. It was a great opportunity to bond with my mother in a scenario just like we used to do when she lived independently. It was also a lovely opportunity to engage with the 2 nurses who were in charge in a non-professional capacity and have a general chat on a range of issues.

I must praise the range of activities on offer at Hawkhill House. My mother loves to participate in them. The meal, too, was delicious.

My mother has been here for 4 years - the reason we chose Hawkhill was because of its homely feel, unlike other homes in the area. Overall she has had a good experience, treated and cared for well! Staff do a good job and act upon queries efficiently.

The staff at Hawkhill House Nursing Home are very kind and caring towards my aunt and the other residents. She is treated with dignity, there is always something going on for the residents to take part in for example, trips to the park and a 'come dine with me' experience. The rooms are always clean and tidy and the food is excellent. Keep u the good work!

I have found that nothing is too much to ask of the staff who are all too willing to help if there are any questions you have regarding medical or nursing care. Each time I have visited Mum I have been made extremely welcome and always asked if I would like a cup of tea. Very impressed with the overall assistance given at a particularly difficult time of stress, when having a family member going into a care home. My wife has been well-looked after since she arrived at Hawkhill House Nursing Home. I highly recommend Hawkhill House Nursing Home.
The dedication of care from the staff is outstanding.
My auntie is thriving and healthy thanks to the amazing care she receives.
The basics of cleanliness and nutrition are wonderful.
For me, the amount of activities and organisation the staff do day-to-day is just outstanding, and the compassion shown to every person there is just the best.

It was a sad day when, because of dementia, my aunt could no longer care for herself, and I had to find a home for her; however, choosing Hawkhill care home was indeed the best decision I could have made.

Hawkhill is an excellent nursing home, the staff are all very caring towards my aunt, taking into account her changing needs and frailty.
Communication cannot be faulted, as I am contacted regularly and as and when there is something the staff consider I should be advised of regarding my aunt.

Having now been living at Hawkhill for almost 8 years, I am still confident I could not have found anywhere better for her.
