Hawkhill House is located within one and a half acres of colourful gardens which provide peace and seclusion in the town of Milltimber. The home has a warm family atmosphere, with highly trained staff available to get to know residents individually offering the highest standards of residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short stay basis.

Hawkhill House is home to residents above all else and every aspect of daily life is planned with this in mind. Staff work hard to enable residents to continue living full, active lives, providing personalised care and support as and when it’s required. Hawkhill House staff assess all of the prospective residents to ensure the home can meet their specific care needs. A care plan is then developed, which sets out the tailored package of care and hospitality as agreed.

Within the home, all of the bedrooms are tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard. Residents are encouraged to bring small items of furniture and other treasured possessions to make the rooms more homely.

When I first came to visit my aunt, I was unhappy with what I saw and smelled. After having the opportunity to attend a family meeting, one nurse was very kind to answer all of my concerns, share the care plan and address my concerns.
It's very difficult to live so far away and depend on others to
care for her.
I am going back to my home secure in the knowledge she is being well looked after.

I was invited to join my mother in preparing and then enjoying the meal which was cooked in situ. It was a great opportunity to bond with my mother in a scenario just like we used to do when she lived independently. It was also a lovely opportunity to engage with the 2 nurses who were in charge in a
non-professional capacity and have a general chat on a range of issues.
I must praise the range of activities on offer at Hawkhill House. My mother loves to participate in them. The meal, too, was delicious.

My mother has been here for 4 years - the reason we chose Hawkhill was because of its homely feel, unlike other homes in the area. Overall she has had a good experience, treated and cared for well! Staff do a good job and act upon queries efficiently.

The staff at Hawkhill House Nursing Home are very kind and caring towards my aunt and the other residents. She is treated with dignity, there is always something going on for the residents to take part in for example, trips to the park and a 'come dine with me' experience. The rooms are always clean
and tidy and the food is excellent. Keep u the good work!

I have found that nothing is too much to ask of the staff who are all too willing to help if there are any questions you have regarding medical or nursing care. Each time I have visited Mum I have been made extremely welcome and always asked if I would like a cup of tea. I can only have praise for each

Very impressed with the overall assistance given at a particularly difficult time of stress, when having a family member going into a care home. My wife has been well-looked after since she arrived at Hawkhill House Nursing Home. The staff are very friendly and it is obvious that the management team

I highly recommend Hawkhill House Nursing Home.
The dedication of care from the staff is outstanding.
My auntie is thriving and healthy thanks to the amazing care she receives.
The basics of cleanliness and nutrition are wonderful.
For me, the amount of activities and organisation the staff do
day-to-day is just outstanding, and the compassion shown to every person there is just the best.
It was a sad day when, because of dementia, my aunt could no longer care for herself, and I had to find a home for her; however, choosing Hawkhill care home was indeed the best decision I could have made.

Hawkhill is an excellent nursing home, the staff are all very caring towards my aunt, taking into account her changing needs and frailty.
Communication cannot be faulted, as I am contacted regularly and as and when there is something the staff consider I should be advised of regarding my aunt.
Having
now been living at Hawkhill for almost 8 years, I am still confident I could not have found anywhere better for her.

My friend has been in Hawkhill House now for 18 months and I can't praise enough the care she receives. My friend is happy and healthy and enjoying her time joining in with the many activities offered to her. The home provides a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere which makes me confident she is
getting the best possible care. Thank you to all the staff who work hard to ensure the residents feel secure and safe in their care. The manager must be very proud of all her staff.

I visited several local nursing homes before deciding on Hawkhill House Nursing Home for a very elderly relative. After nine months under their care, I am relieved to find that my relative is happy, well looked after and has improved both physically and cognitively beyond my expectations. The management
sets high standards for care and I appreciate that all the staff works hard to achieve them. It is a friendly, safe and inviting environment that is a pleasure to visit. I am in no doubt that I made the correct decision.

My sister has been in Hawkhill House Nursing Home for over a year now and and I have found that the staff are very helpful and answer any questions regarding my sister care promptly.
The staff are friendly and helpful at all times. There is plenty of entertainment during the week which keeps the the
residents happy.

Staff did not follow written instructions, incorrect administration of medication on numerous occasions, the patient ended up with bedsores, he had a fall from his chair whilst unsupervised, incorrect clothing was put on him, and not enough fluids were given to him, despite several staff being told
he was susceptible to urinary tract infections.
When issues were reported to management, they were abrupt, rude and defensive.
We will never put him into Hawkhill again.

The process of moving my mother into Hawkhill House made very simple and easy. On arrival, the staff met us and made me and my mother feel very welcome.
We visit my mother regularly and are always happy to see her room very clean and tidy.
The facilities are good, with very nice public areas such
as the lounge and dining rooms.
In general, the staff all seem very nice and I feel confident that my mother's needs are being met more than adequately.

My aunt has been at Hawkhill House for eight weeks and in that time she has settled in well, enjoying the company and has participated in events when able. The staff are very friendly and I am happy to say her comfort seems to be priority she needs personal care and what is done in a caring and dignified
way. From the management team down the staff are interested in her comfort which is a comfort to me.

Rae qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2003 and began her career in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, before discovering a passion for elderly care. She soon transitioned into the care home sector, where her compassionate nature and leadership skills saw her rise through the roles of Staff Nurse and Deputy Manager before becoming a Home Manager in 2012.


With over 20 years of experience, Rae is deeply committed to creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel truly at home. Known for her hands-on, person-centred approach, Rae leads her team with empathy and encouragement. Outside of work, she enjoys horse riding, hill walking, and spending time with her family.

I get to know every resident personally and their specific needs. I work closely with other teams to keep up-to-date on any changes to our residents health or nutritional needs.
