Cheese & wine afternoon was a great success. Staff, residents & family members appeared to enjoy this activity.
The staff interacted well with all the residents.
The choice of drinks, biscuits & cheese was very good.

I look forward to the next one!

My mother was in 4wks respite, treated very well by staff, joined in on most activities. Enjoyed her meals during her stay. Her room was always clean & tidy. Gave the family peace of mind to know that she was looked after very well during her stay.

Burnside Culture Day 25 July 2025. Staff from all areas of the care home came together to deliver an afternoon of fun and joy. Many of the people involved were volunteering their own time and talents much to the delight of the many residents who attended in the well tended, flag bedecked garden. Residents enjoyed food, music and dancing including Scottish Highland dancing accompanied by a piper and a "flash mob" of staff all happily dancing together. The food - a very important thing, for many residents, was excellent. A hot buffet of Asian food prepared mainly by the Fillipine staff. There was a variety of textures, smells and tastes. The multicultural event included songs from various countries. A happy, happy day!

My wife has been in Burnside since April 2024. Overall, the staff are excellent, obviously some better than others, but I have no concerns about quality of carers and nursing staff.

There is a nice clean area which we use regularly for fresh air and relaxing.

We, my family and myself, were delighted with the change in my husband within just a few days when a resident for respite care. He was more alert and we understand he participated in all of the activities available to the residents. All of the staff caring for my husband were so kind and looked after him so well. They made us very welcome when we visited. My husband was treated like a king by all of the staff. Thank you.

Visited Burnside Nursing Home to see my dad, who had just enjoyed his Burns (supper) lunch. The care and friendly banter from the staff towards all the residents is lovely to hear and see. And it's reassuring to know that he is being very well looked after.

My husband and I felt well cared for at Burnside and were made to feel most welcome by all staff at all times. A minibus tour was organised by activities coordinators the first week we arrived which allowed us to learn about the local area with some of the other residents. I felt everyone was supportive of my husband and his condition. Both carers and nurses always discussed issues and I felt that together we resolved issues in a proactive way. All staff were approachable, supportive and caring making me feel valued and part of my husband's care team. The care team at Burnside encouraged and mobilised my husband so much so that he was able to come home after I gained experience and confidence while working with carers. Thank you!

I feel my mother is well cared for in Burnside Nursing Home. I have just attended a quiz night with my mum, for fundraising. The carers are all very pleasant to Mum and will discuss any concerns I have about Mum and act on them.

Very happy with Mum's care - very good meals with choices. Mum is always clean and tidily presented, as is her room.
Staff are friendly and will attend to Mum's needs.
Activities offered are many and varied and now the weather is improving, residents are more often out in the beautiful presented garden.

Staff know Mum and her likes/dislikes.

My mother was in for respite care and we could not fault the home. Her mobility was poor, urine infection and confused. The staff were outstanding. They took control of Mum's medication and got things under control. Working with the family concerns, they supported Mum to move and on leaving, her mobility was much improved.

My partner wasn’t able to understand that he needed care and so was resistant to help. The staff at Burnside Nursing Home treated him professionally, kindly, cheerfully and with the utmost respect.
The huge support and friendship given to me as his partner made a difficult time so much easier.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Burnside.
