Burnside Nursing Home kindly allowed us to have a lovely afternoon tea today to celebrate my father in law's birthday. They had the table all laid out with a lovely tea set and delicious sandwiches/sausage rolls/pork pies and cakes and then to top it all off the cook had baked a birthday cake. It made my father in law's day to have all the family together. The staff are so kind and helpful and it is very reassuring to know that our loved one is being cared for in such an excellent facility. Can't thank them enough.

During my visits to the home, it was evident that the staff were compassionate, respectful and showed great decency towards my mother's well-being, even though most of the time, mum was bedridden, the staff made every effort to make sure her stay was as pleasant as possible. She was always kept clean, comfortable and safe. If she could write this review I'm sure she would tell of how pleased she was with the kindness and excellent care. Thank you so much for everything you have done for mum. It's very much appreciated.

I was met with kindness and wise advice when I arrived for rehabilitation after I broke my leg. I had ready access to physiotherapy and occupational therapy. Members of staff willingly and diligently followed up exercises supplied by the physiotherapist and I paid a home visit with the occupational therapist. A care manager from the council monitored my progress at a meeting helped regularly. This kept my family up to date. I feel strongly that my improvement has been greatly helped by the gentle encouragement and continued support by staff members.

Extremely pleased with level of care provided. Only criticism is sometimes urine smell. Also, fuel rooms could be somewhat updated.
Our Mum was admitted to Burnside Care Home in May after a few days in Hospital. She was very poorly. The manager and staff made her very welcome and we immediately felt that Mum was in safe hands. Mums health improved under their care for a short time. However, despite their best efforts Mum passed away a few weeks later. The level of understanding and support from the nursing staff and carers was outstanding both for Mum and for us as a visiting family. They could not do enough and they work well together as a team, under caring leadership. We would not hesitate to recommend this care home to others, which is important in these times when there is so much negativity within the care system.

Staff are amazing. I believe it stems from the Manager. They are happy and a pleasure to be around. I was there for rehab and they let me do everything for myself, but I knew they were there if I needed them. I am sure that's why I was able to go home so quickly.

The conditions in the facility are excellent, the staff are attentive, friendly and very good interacting with the residents and visitors alike.
The meals are so good, my mother has said everything she has had has been excellent. The facility lounges, gardens and general surroundings make for an excellent environment for my mother to live out her remaining years in comfort and good company.
It is the kind of place that I would hope, if necessary, where I could go to either for recuperation or long term residency due to care requirements. No hesitation in recommending Burnside. Excellent staff, facilities and environment.

Care in the unit where my friend resides is good. The carers are kind and friendly and the unit has a good atmosphere. They all appear to work well as a team.

My husband moved into Burnside from another home in August 2018 and was settled in quickly with no problems. He always looks very comfortable, clean and pain-free, he is unable to communicate and walk but still manages a smile now and again. I am delighted to see him so settled.

I am very impressed with the care my father is receiving at Burnside. The carers in his unit are extremely professional and always very helpful and friendly. They have helped my dad get back to his sociable self. Any situation that has arisen has been dealt with in the proper manner and I am always kept up to date. I have already recommended Burnside to a work colleague whose mum now also stays there.

Everything was well communicated between the staff and they were all aware of their individual needs. We were welcomed by management and staff on arrival. Their rooms were arranged for a bedroom and sitting area to allow them care and privacy. They were very grateful for this. Staff were always attentive and could not do enough to help. They kept a very watchful eye on my dad to recuperate from his illness but allowed him his own space to regain his independence.
Food was excellent and without his time in Burnside, my dad's health would not have been at the much-improved level he was at when he went home. The time gave my mum the help she needs with daily living while my dad recuperated, and gave myself peace of mind knowing they were both being very well looked after and I could always ask staff what I needed to know. I am very grateful to all concerned and would have no hesitation in recommending Burnside.

The staff are fantastic with the residents and visitors. Nothing was ever too much trouble. When my grandmother had to go into a home I had no question that it had to be Burnside. Two of my great grannies were residents for many years. The communication from staff is faultless. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.

Mum wasn't in Burnside for long. She was very poorly. Staff were excellent. I spent quite a bit of time there and was always made welcome. They always treated mother with dignity and respect. Mum just didn't have long to enjoy the facilities.

The premises are set in a quiet area with good views of the countryside. A large pleasant secure garden area to the rear is provided for use by the residents/visitors. Inside, the building is bright and clean and there always seems to be sufficient staff on duty. Both management and staff are friendly and helpful and from what I have seen are keen to encourage residents to do as much for themselves as they can.

My father has been at Burnside since May 2017. The accommodation overall is good, although the room could be a bit bigger.
He is well cared for in his day to day needs, laundry, food etc.He is very well looked after medically with no hesitation to calling for a doctor if necessary,
All the staff treat my father well and with a lot of respect. They are very good at persuading him to carry out personal care.
He enjoys the trips out in the mini-bus that the care home run.
Overall, I am more than happy with how my dad is being cared for.

Residents seem happy and well looked after most of the time although a bit more regular visits for those unavailable to feed themselves like my Gran would be good. Rooms are a bit dated but given the budget etc it is as expected.
Food, refreshment and entertainment are very good and active attempts to get my Gran and even my Grandad involved even though he is not a resident but visits every day and gets meals too which is great.
The staff individually and collectively enabled her to make the most of her last year of life by finding out her needs and interests and making sure she could still enjoy them.
We were all made to feel at home there and that our feelings and wishes were important. I am so glad this particular home was recommended to us.
