Burnside Nursing Home

Staff, especially carers are excellent. They certainly go the extra mile. Cleaners are also excellent and are respectful of belongings, management is also very approachable. I feel as a family, we communicate with the home very well, they are very welcoming. Regarding food - it varies according to my mother but that is maybe a personal thing or how she is feeling. Access to home - the road is terrible and is not wheelchair friendly, it is getting worse.

I found the care and kindness shown to both my mother and father at a very difficult time in their lives to be excellent. My mother had many nursing needs and everyone went about their duties in such a friendly yet professional way that she felt secure and happy in their care. My father was able to be with my mother all day due to the excellent way they had arranged the rooms. They had an amazing chair for my mother to use and she was able to go outside into the beautiful garden. The smile on her face was something we will never forget and we will always be grateful to the staff for making this possible. Nothing was ever too much trouble and their dedication was without fault. The staff also could see the needs of my father and supported him throughout the saddest time of his life. It was touching to see the genuine way the staff cared for both my parents and I knew without any doubt they were in safe hands which, as their daughter, was a comforting feeling.

The care and attention of all the staff at Burnside was excellent. The rooms were ideal for all mum's needs. The staff were always there to look after mum and all her needs.

My mum was in Burnside for only a few months having moved there from respite care at another home in the area. She was much happier at Burnside and felt there was more attention to her care than previously experienced. Had one negative experience with one member of staff from a different area of the home and had concerns over a resident with dementia who would try to enter her room, otherwise very positive. Staff were excellent, particularly with my wife and I during the time my mum passed away. Very caring and helpful at a difficult time.

My mother has expressed constant praise on all the staff and repeats "how good they are". It is reassuring that she is receiving such a high level of supportive care.

Burnside is a lovely friendly home. It very much creates the feeling of 'home'. I fully believe my aunt is cared for by warm, caring and friendly individuals. There always appears to be plenty staff watching over and intermingling with residents. On a personal note whenever we visit we are made very welcome and can enjoy a cup of coffee/tea with my aunt. I am extremely happy with the care and attention my aunt receives which provides peace of mind to the family.

All the staff have been very friendly and accommodating.

Over winter the lady in question was poorly but the staff were very attentive and she has recovered well with their nursing.

I am very happy, the staff are excellent. Food is good.

Mum was only in Burnside but the difference in her skin and overall health was incredible, the carers and nurses were genuine and very caring, she was warm and well fed. During her final days the staff were wonderful to mum and also looked after me, made sure I was holding up. It's very difficult to choose a care home for your mum but I am glad I chose Burnside.

Visited Dad on an "open day". There was entertainment which was age group appropriate. All relatives were invited to join residents for a "high tea" which I have to say was exceptional! All the staff from management, carers, activities staff and catering have really done themselves proud. Even off duty staff were there, which all adds to the "family feel" which is evident here. Extremely happy with the care given.

Very welcoming environment, safe made to feel part of an extended family. Cater for needs of spouse makes transition easier. Rooms comfortable, clean and warm. Friendly staff.

I cannot recommend Burnside highly enough and would like to thank all the staff who made my mother's stay beneficial to her well-being and enjoyable.

My father moved into Burnside when he was unable to live at home and required 24 hour care he was a very fun loving person who loved life and even after having his stroke he remained positive. The staff in Burnside made him welcome and cared for him as if he was one of their own and he wanted for nothing The family and his many visitors were always made welcome and he was able to live his life in a safe happy environment looked after by people who genuinely cared.

When I arrived here 2 weeks ago from hospital in Dundee. I was reluctant to go home and it was arranged for me to come here where I had help with washing and toilet and a nice room to myself. My first week I did a lot of rest with my legs up. My second week I got into the habit of making my own breakfast and as much walking as possible. The hospitality here is first class in my eyes and everyone is so nice. Staff wise nothing is a bother. I will certainly recommend the home to anyone in the same position as myself.

After my gran had a short spell in hospital, we realised as a family gran would no longer manage at home alone. She was to move to my in-laws but before that gran went to Burnside. The first week she was there, gran was a new person, happy, chatty, alert and just enjoying life. The staff were top notch! The second week gran was there she took ill and sadly passed away. We couldn't of asked for a better team of nurses/carers/cleaners, as a family we wanted for nothing, the ream at Burnside looked after gran but also made sure we had everything we needed. We will never be able to thank them enough!

The whole team at Burnside are fantastic! took excellent care of my gran whilst she was there. I wouldn't be able to thank them enough!
