Since my family friend has arrived at Tranent Care Home she has been tried with dignity and compassion. Staff have been very attendive. Myself and other relatives have been made to feel welcome. Her care needs have been met to a very high standard. She has been really enjoying all her meals since moving into the care home.

My husband Peter has been in home since July & the care he has been given is fantastic. Peter has Parkinson's & depends on staff for all personal care. All his needs are treated with professional care & kindness. Peter has great respect for the way he is treated.
As his wife I find the staff also treat myself & family as part of the caring team. This makes the whole atmosphere an extension of our family life. The Home is kept spotless & rooms deep cleaned regularly. The laundry service for clients clothes terrific all items tagged so returned to room. The food is excellent & always very varied. If the client not happy with what on menu that day. The chef can usually help to do something else. I would find it hard to understand how any family or client could find fault with this Home.

I would also say as someone who has worked as a manager in day care facility for the elderly & has on occasion visited most of care homes in East Lothian I find this one excellent.

All staff are very welcoming & approachable. If our family have an issue it is resolved fairly quickly. The food is excellent from what I see & what my father in law tells me. Down side I feel the bedrooms & bathrooms need updated. Much brighter paint on walls & new bathroom facilities, they are looking very old & tired. Also safety guards for the sides of the toilet that can lift up or down if needed for safety of client & to feel secure when sitting on the toilet.

I have rated activities as don't know . I haven't myself seen much going on in the home , but feel alot more stimulation for the clients could be improved upon. ie singsongs, story telling reminiscing, games for fun but would also help phyisically

Warm welcoming staff who treat residents and family members as if they are one of their own. Facilities are very good and always clean albeit some updating of fixtures and fittings would really make it stand out.

Meals are second to none and I know Dad looks forward to these each day especially as we look on enviously!

Location of home, and ample parking for visitors is perfect, and makes Dad still feel part of the local community.

Overall good in how the care home is run and how my mother is treated. Staff show a good level of training and dealing with residents. Staff are very approachable and nothing seems to be too much of a problem for them.

On arrival on October 18th 2022, he was given good support by the care staff. He settled fairly well, after two to three weeks I met with the manager to discuss two issues and she listened and suggested an alternative - the matter was done promptly.

My first experience of a nursing home and I was very impressed. My father needed intense care and was so well looked after by all levels of staff. His end of life comfort was wonderfully dealt with. A special mention to all the amazing laundry team who brought a ray of sunshine to every visit they made to his room. This home does a hard job really well and the staff make the place. A huge thank you to all involved in his care. You were excellent!

When I got in for the first time my dad's shoes were covered in food stains, and his TV was all splattered with juice; this is the first time I have come across an issue. Also, from day one, his toile never flushed right - still doesn't.

It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, putting my dad, who has Alzheimer's, in the care of others. However, my experience with the care home has been excellent, and I can't thank them enough for the support they have provided my dad. They have a good understanding of his needs, and he seems settled now, which makes the whole experience easier for me. I can't thank them all enough.

While visiting the care home during the pandemic, the staff have been very helpful. The centre is clean and organised, and all members of staff I have met are very friendly. They have been very supportive during the death of one of my grandparents while the other still resides at the care home. They are a very caring well-staffed facility, which makes them go the extra mile.
