At Tranent Care Home, located in the town of Tranent, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, the team supports older people to lead their best lives with personalised nursing and nursing dementia care.

Tranent is a friendly home which offers many areas for residents to relax and socialise with friends and family. The fantastic amenities include a lovely garden which is tended to by residents, an on-site hair salon, cinema and hobby room.

My Mother-in-law has changed completely. No longer sitting in her room anymore on her own and is also eating her meals at the table in the dining room now and is happy within herself.

As you will be aware there have been a number of issues that have either been dealt with or are continuing to be dealt with.


I have found a great improvement in the laundry service and as all clothes are now tagged with the resident's name, only my Mothers clothes are now placed in the wardrobe.


The

staff are very good at their job, and when I had concerns with an agency carer this was resolved quickly and effectively.


I still have concerns during meal times, when residents are placed at the table 1 hour prior to the meals being served, residents are wandering about the dining room and in and out of the dining room and noise levels increasing. I don't believe that this environment is safe, secure or a nice place to sit and have a meal.

The home is really good, apart from the shower room, think the flooring needs replacing. The staff are super, great, also the food is great and I get the choice if I don't like whats on the menu.

This has recently been refitted, we can assure you all fittings are safe and fit for purpose and the flooring is new. My time at the care home has been a good one and has opened my eyes to the way the staff and carers are so helpful towards the residents, treating us with respect and kindness. They look after the day to day needs of each person during the day and also during the night, I would be happy to recommend

Both my parents have been cared for in this care home. Sadly my dad passed away in September 2015. Every single member of staff gives 100% care. I can't thank them enough.
