Sadly mum passed away but in the last few days before her passing the staff were supportive, sympathetic and caring to mum and all the family in equal measure. We were allowed to sit with mum and were brought tea/coffee/cake to sustain us as we sat with mum during this very sad time. We have nothing but good things to say about the care mum received whilst at the home.
My mother likes plain food, no curries, and the fish is mostly over cooked. I know they get 2 choices on main courses - could they not get 2 on dessert? Other than that she gets on fine. I think she has settled in now and she gets on well with the staff. Thank you.

Our Chef at Tranent welcomes feedback regarding the menu and current choices. If the dessert is not to a resident’s liking we have ice cream, custard, cream rice or a variety of yoghurt flavours. The fish is cooked so that it is flaky or cooked in a sauce and can be easily eaten by all residents in the Home. The other option is to have your fish breaded or crumbed.
You couldn't ask for better staff to look after your loved one my mother was there for 8 months and the care she got was up and beyond what you would expect the staff couldn't do enough to make my mother's stay restful and happy I'm pleased she had her last days there can't thank them enough

We as a family have had no problems with the care our mother has received at the nursing home since her admission in 2015. Any problems we have had, have been dealt with promptly. Nursing staff helpful and polite.

My Mother-in-law has changed completely. No longer sitting in her room anymore on her own and is also eating her meals at the table in the dining room now and is happy within herself.

I have found a great improvement in the laundry service and as all clothes are now tagged with the resident's name, only my Mothers clothes are now placed in the wardrobe.
The staff are very good at their job, and when I had concerns with an agency carer this was resolved quickly and effectively.
I still have concerns during meal times, when residents are placed at the table 1 hour prior to the meals being served, residents are wandering about the dining room and in and out of the dining room and noise levels increasing. I don't believe that this environment is safe, secure or a nice place to sit and have a meal.
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about the home and we are pleased to hear that you are seeing improvements. We have employed two new very experienced Chefs and are continuing to work with our staff to improve the mealtime experience for all our residents.

The home is really good, apart from the shower room, think the flooring needs replacing. The staff are super, great, also the food is great and I get the choice if I don't like whats on the menu.

Both my parents have been cared for in this care home. Sadly my dad passed away in September 2015. Every single member of staff gives 100% care. I can't thank them enough.
