I cannot say enough about this home! It is wonderful. They are taking such good care of my mother. She is very happy here. The staff seem very attentive.
My aunt has lived at Archview for 2 years. I have always found the staff friendly, professional and approachable. The standard of care that she receives has been first class. Her care needs are carefully attended to and she always looks content and well cared for. The home is well maintained and a pleasant place to be.
Best care home. My Mother in Law has improved 100% living in Archview Lodge. Conditions are amazing. Staff are very caring.
My mother moved into Archview Lodge 6 months ago, after she broke her hip and wrist, which meant she needed full-time care. The transition from assisted living to a care home is not easy, but the staff at Archview Lodge have been fantastic. My mother feels very well cared for and safe and there has been a consistent team of staff she has got to know since she moved in. The atmosphere is very warm and all the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Everyone's needs are met with great kindness and patience and they go out of their way to resolve any problems that might arise.
My mother was very poorly in the last 2 weeks. The care she received in Barchester Archview Lodge Care Home was second to none. The care and understanding shown to myself and my family was fantastic. In my view, they were all angels. Thankfully, my mum is on the mend and I could not wish for a better place for her to be.
Since I moved in here, I am very well looked after. Plus my family know I am happy and safe and well fed. The staff are first class and very friendly.
My husband has been in Archview for 3 months. I have been very happy about the care and attention he receives. Initially, he found it a bit difficult but now he seems very happy. He enjoys the activities especially the entertainers. He joins in the singing. He also enjoys the food and I have had lunch with him a few times which I have enjoyed. The staff are all friendly and caring.
When not quite right the GP is called and I am informed (mum been there 3 years now)
Immediately felt comfortable on entering the premises. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Grounds outside were very pleasing to the eye. All the staff are very caring to residents and visitors. If I have to use the facilities myself anytime at a nursing home I would be pleased to enter Archview Lodge Care Home.
Since arriving at Archview Lodge Care Home my mother has enjoyed daily activities which she enjoys. She loves to sing and watch films that I brought in for her and the staff regularly have film evenings which other residents enjoy. All of the staff are friendly and caring and has made my mother's stay here very happy.
I would like to thank all the staff for the care that they are giving my mother. They are all Angels.
Our relative has been in Archview for nearly 2 years now and we are very happy with the care she is being given. She is treated as an individual rather than a number. She is always clean and attention given to her hair which is always nicely done. These little touches are important. Shows people care.
Our overall experience at Archview is very good with the professional attitude of the staff form all areas of the home. If we have had any problems they have been resolved very quickly. My mother is very well looked after.
I like the appearance of the building and like the weather to sit in the garden, like having the entertainment. My health has improved with the good care. No more panic attacks. I've learned to crochet, knitted incubator covers, making scarves, made loads of friends from other residents to relatives kindly bringing me in wool. Like getting my hair done by the hairdresser.
Since I became a resident in Archview I have had a very positive experience. The staff can't do enough for me. There is a very happy atmosphere around the home. There are plenty of activities of all types. Entertainment as well, singers, links with schools, animal-friendly, I can enjoy my family visits with the dog. The manager here runs the home to a very high standard. The food is also excellent.
The building is well maintained and staff keep me informed of any matter affecting my mother.
All staff, regardless of their position are very professional and caring.
I would have no hesitation to recommend Archview Lodge to anyone who has a relative or friend needing care.
Archview Lodge is the best home in Midlothian. Everyone is so helpful, friendly. The place is spotless. I am always kept in touch with any changes, it's like one big happy family. 100% perfect.
In my view, it is one of the best care homes in the area.
Very well trained staff in all areas of elderly people care.
Very reassuring for family and relatives.
Dad passed away in late April 2017 having enjoyed nearly 10 years of excellent compassionate friendly care. In his final few days the staff were fantastic in their loving, professional care of dad and me and they facilitated what was a very sad moment, making it calm and serene and peaceful. The home is run by loving attentive staff and managed with professional high standards ensuring residents have respect, dignity, safety and caring in a loving, friendly, pleasant home-from-home atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Meet the Team (5)

Hi, my name is Sarah and I am the General Manager here at Archview Lodge.
Here you will have the opportunity to look further into what Archview Lodge can offer you and your loved one. You will also be able to familiarise yourself with the team who all assist in delivering quality person-centred care daily.
I have over 30 years of nursing experience; I trained and worked in London teaching hospitals before living abroad and then moving back to Scotland to be nearer to family. I love being a nurse and particularly enjoy looking after older adults, who I feel can offer us new insights into life. I find this area of nursing very rewarding and it’s a privilege to work with the team at Archview.

I was inspired to become a nurse by my mother, who was also a nurse at Archview Lodge many years ago.
I successfully joined Archview as a Nurse with the support of the staff. I can truly say that I was mentored well by the Senior Nurse and have developed many skills attributed to high-quality care. I am now proud to be the Deputy Home Manager after a period leading the ground floor unit and I strive to inspire others to become positive leaders who deliver a high standard of care to residents.

Hi, my name is Kasia and I have been an Admin Assistant at Archview Lodge since 2014. I am originally from Poland but have lived in Scotland since 2006. I find Scotland such a friendly and welcoming country to live in.

I’ve worked at Archview from August 1997. I am married and have 3 children and 2 granddaughters. My ambition in life is to enjoy every day and make people smile.

Hello, my name is Mary. I have worked in Archview for 15 years and love my job.
As an Activity Coordinator I work along side Diane and Sally and must say we are a great team! I love organising outings and other activities, like our Archview Shows, for our wonderful residents!
