My mum had a choking incident which required nursing staff and paramedics. She was giving cpr and a tube down her throat to clear her airways by the staff and manager at balclutha

Ambulance arrived by the time i got there they were giving my mum oxygen. My mum was taking to hospital were she recovered and is now back at balclutha. The nursing staff Heather and cindy and anna were outstanding. John was very supportive to me and my family. I cannnot thank you enough for all the you do for my mum, not just on that day but the whole time my mum as been in your care. The carers and staff go above and beyond even when short staff. You are all one in a million. Thank you all so so much x

All staff are very friendly and helpful and make everyone whether residents or visitors to the home feel very welcome and they are led by an excellent management team. My mother's care home closed down very unexpectedly a few months ago and the transition to Balclutha was made seamless by all concerned. From day one my mother, myself and family have been made to feel very welcome by all the lovely staff and she settled in very quickly. I take great comfort in the knowledge that she is being looked after so well by such dedicated hard working staff and that she is happy and content. It is always a pleasure to go into the home for a visit and I really appreciate that relatives are kept well informed about everything and are included in activities and social events. I am very thankful that my mother found a wonderful home in what could have been a very difficult time for her and myself.

Looked around at several care homes with my mother to make her feel included and this was by far the best decision we have made for my mother, its not too big, feels very homely and safe and my mother just clicked instantly with it, she has never looked or been happier. The staff are amazing would bend over backwards for the residents nothings ever a bother.

On first visit, myself and the family thought this was the best place for our family member to live and be looked after. The friendly staff made us all feel welcomed, and we felt reassured that all her needs would be met in a compassionate and professional manner. Now that she's been there for a few weeks, we are sure we made the right decision. We look forward to our visits with our family member, and are content that she is happy and safe.

My dad was a resident in Barchester Balclutha Court Care Home for 9 months. The home is warm and friendly and so welcoming. The staff treated my dad like he was their own family and made the experience so much easier. He was loved by all the staff and we are very grateful for their excellent care and attention from the day he was admitted until he passed away.

My gran has been a resident now for a few months. When she first arrived she was very unsettled but I can honestly say, thanks to the staff on the floor, nurses and management, my gran has become more settled as time goes on. She has dementia and limited mobility and the staff provide a person-centred approach to care for her. Activities are well-planned and my gran has been enjoying a few of these while she has been a resident. Staff within the care home are very approachable and are willing to work with my family to make sure my gran receives the best care. No complaints at all - excellent care with supportive and caring staff.

Our mum has been a resident at Barchester Balclutha Court Care Home for nine months. As a family, we feel we can trust the staff.
We appreciate the transparency from the care home, in general, and are happy with the regular communication.
We are aware that the building is older and it would be good if all residents could have an en-suite bathroom. The recent redecorating is nice, especially the garden room. The staff, in general, are caring and we feel our mum gets treated with respect.
The activity staff are great also.

Appreciate that working and running a care home is a very difficult job, with every day bringing different challenges. Despite this, the manager, deputy manager and team do a great job.

As a family, we could never fault this place my father-in-law just loves it. The staff are all lovely very welcoming and also very professional in thier roles.

The manager and deputy manager's doors are always left open if you need a chat about anything. When my father-in-law was unwell they were on the phone to us straight away to tell us he had to hospital. All I can say is this home is 10 out of 10 for everything

Cannot recommend Barchester Balclutha Court Care Home highly enough. They give the residents so much care and attention. You only have to ask for something once and it is done, from hospital appointments to what are the residents favourite things to do. The staff are just the best and the home is spotless. The residents all like to stop you in the corridor to have a wee chat, they all seem to know each other. We can pop in at any time with no notice to see our loved ones. Keep up the great work guys and thank you all.

It is always a pleasure to visit Barchester Balclutha Court Care Home. I visit 22 people from our church going once a week doing the top and bottom floors alternate weeks. Due to fewer to visit on the top floor, I usually manage a few on the bottom floor every week. The staff are very helpful and welcoming and the people I visit are very happy with their care. I have got to know some relatives too as I do my rounds.

Balclutha has taken my sister at a critical time. She was discharged from the hospital with several issues, including Parkinson's as well as cognitive dysfunction. You have stabilised these issues and helped her through the loss of ability to stand and the related loss of independence issues and difficulties as her world shrank. She has responded to being treated with respect whilst being aware of the realities and limitations of her condition. Thank you.

My mother was recently in respite at Barchester Balclutha Court Care Home in Greenock. The overall experience was excellent, from a warm welcome at reception through to every member of staff I encountered being friendly and attentive to my mother. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the food looked very good and activities were available for my mother. Medication was handled professionally and promptly, my mother felt safe within the home and only had praise for all the staff, including management. Should we require respite in the future, Balclutha will be not only ours but my mother’s preferred option. Well done to the manager and all the staff at Balclutha.

I feel most thankful for the care provided. I only have a few "quibbles" which might be considered. why does perfection matter if we lose human contact as a result? Can staff be allowed to get on with what they're doing without interference? They manage better when pairs are required! We would enjoy our meals more if there wasn't pressure to get finished. Let us recognise that we all have value - staff and residents alike.

I cannot recommend the home enough in terms of how it’s run and the care that is provided to the residents; the staff are super friendly and really care about their residents. The activities that they organise are fantastic.
Our uncle was well looked after, and the staff took the time to get to know him and what his passions were.
The only downside is the rooms don’t have en-suites compared to some of the more modern homes, but the home itself is spotless.

This is the second time we’ve had a relative in the home, and I would recommend it to anyone thinking about it.
