Every time I come, I receive a lovely welcome. Staff are very friendly. My mother says she is happy and content staying here. She enjoys her game of bingo in the evening and afternoon. The home appears clean and tidy, and staff are very particular regarding health and safety surrounding Covid-19 procedures.

Mums room is extremely clean and comfortable. Bathroom facilities meet her needs. Staff communicate well to share/receive information, and this is on a regular basis. Mum is always clean and dressed. A soft food diet has been introduced as Mum currently has a teeth issue. Staff have accompanied Mum
for hospital visits and have liaised with a range of health professionals. The home is a lively and happy place. Mum enjoys the range of activities but particularly enjoys the silent disco and the sing a long session. Bingo sessions are enjoyed too.

My mother has settled in really well and I think that is all down to the staff, each and everyone I've met has gone above and beyond to make my mum welcome. Her wee room is already her own but she spent most of her time in the dayroom. Thanks for looking after my mum.

Since my cousin has been a resident here I feel she is very content and settled. This is of great comfort to the family. We have mostly had garden visits due to Covid-19 and the lovely summer weather. I feel this is a bonus to my cousin's well-being overall. The staff are extremely helpful and courteous
to both my cousin and visitors.

I have been a resident at Hillside View Care Home since 02/12/2019. I have been treated with respect and dignity. All staff have been so helpful through my stay and the manager has been supporting my independence. I would recommend of my age (46) to come and reside here.

The staff at Hillside are home dedicated people. My son has the best care for his needs. He showers every morning and the chef makes his favourite omelette at lunchtime. They also encourage him to exercise which is not an easy task. I now have peace of mind knowing he is in the best place.

I can sleep at night knowing my mum is safe at Hillside View. They have kept her safe during the pandemic and keeping us up to date at all times with how she is and any changes to the guidelines. We have been able to join in the choir via Zoom and the Thursday family quiz on Zoom for residents and families
is great fun and good to see mum and keep in touch.
Thank you to all the staff at Hillside as a family we could never repay you for the peace of mind you have given us.

Very pleasant staff who are very reliable at informing us of any changes during the lockdown. They could have better facilities for outdoor visits. It is good that more activities are now being introduced. All residents are treated well, with care and dignity.

I am extremely happy with the care my husband receives and the support the staff have given to myself and my children especially during the coronavirus. It must have been very difficult for the staff during this time, trying to keep the residents and themselves safe and happy. The zoom chats especially
kept our family connected to my husband. My husband now has an illness and once again the staff have gone above and beyond for us all as a family. I can't thank them enough.

I feel the standards and care at Hill View Care Home is of an exceptionally high standard. All staff are so helpful on the phone, my concerns for my husband disappear after having had a conversation by phone with staff members. Due to covid19 means, I haven't managed to see his room, which I feel will
ve absolutely perfect.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.383)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.383) out of 10 for Hillside View Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.694 for Hillside View Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (81 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.694
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.689 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hillside View Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.4 = 0.789
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
