My dad loved Almond Court. We, Dad and I, made a lot of friends there in staff and residents, it felt like a second family. When Dad passed away in Jan this year the staff took his passing hard. I so know how hard it is not to get close to people you look after but still be professional at the same
time. I'm still visiting the home and would like to help with activities to give back to the home for all they had done for Dad. If anyone is looking for a place I can't say enough of Almond Court.

My husband is more content and more engaged than he has been for a long time. The staff very quickly have the measure of his personality and encourage him to become more mobile. Friends that visit often say that he is on great form. One said, "Quite the best visit in years! Quite uplifting!" Other comments
from visitors are often how good the staff are.

My mother-in-law by March 2022 had advanced dementia, which was horrific for the family to see. We could not have gotten better care for her and for ourselves by everyone at the home, including management.
They went above and beyond every day. Everyone is treated like family and nothing is a bother.
When she died, it was dealt with with care and dignity. Almond Court Care Home is a wonderful place.

Really happy with the care my dad receives at Almond court. The staff are excellent, caring, and friendly. He is clean, shaved, and looks well cared for at every visit. The room is a great size, en suite spotless, and with an amazing view.
The only down points I have seen are the quality of the food
and menu, eg chicken drumsticks for elderly patients with dementia is ridiculous. Also although there are lovely big lounge areas there are no activity staff to engage with the residents.
Overall it’s a good home, with only a few easily remedied minus points and I would happily recommend Almond Court to anyone for a safe caring environment for their family member.

My father arrived at Almond Court during COVID restrictions, and we weren't able to view the home in advance, relying on good word of mouth and reviews. Dad needed a home that specialised in dementia care and we wanted one that wasn't too far from friends and family. Once visitor restrictions were lifted
a little, I was able to visit and was immediately impressed. Every staff member I met had taken the time to find out about Dad since he'd moved in and they couldn't do enough for him. His room is clean and tidy, the food very good, and the staff are always available to help. As a family, we feel very fortunate to have been directed towards Almond Court.

The ventilation in this home is very poor. The window design prevents the windows from opening in a manner that allows adequate fresh air to circulate whilst maintaining safety. The gardens and grounds surrounding the home have an air of neglect. No shelter provided to protect residents from the elements.

Our father is happy within the care home, which is what is important to us. He appears well fed and cared for. We have been able to have window visits and a visit outside near Christmas hosted by the care home. The staff work extremely hard to meet the needs of the residents and often give their time
off willingly to support residents' activities.

My mum receives excellent care and is well looked after. The staff are amazing and in particular, my mum's key worker is very good with her. I totally appreciate all that the staff do and without this service, I don't know that my mum would have still been with us. Thank you all, from the bottom of

My mother was transferred to your home from another as we had grave concerns about her wellbeing, justified as it turned out. However, from the moment we came through the door, my mother was made welcome, treated with dignity and a level of care that was of the highest standard. All staff that we met
had the same caring attitude and were very kind and professional.

Our mum has only been here for 6 weeks and so far we have found our mums care to be very good, nothing is to much bother for them, they look after her well. We really appreciate all you do for her. Especially when we had concerns about her coming to a nursing home.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.492)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.492) out of 10 for Almond Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.740 for Almond Court is calculated as follows: ( (73 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.74
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.752 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Almond Court is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.4 = 0.952
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
