Darnley Court Care Home, located in the thriving community of Glasgow, provides personalised nursing and nursing dementia care to older people.

With sitting rooms, space for residents to pursue their hobbies and interests and a lovely dining room, Darnley Court has a host of places in which to relax, dine, exercise, socialise and be creative.

The catering team prides itself on ensuring that each meal is an enjoyable and heart-warming experience for every resident and visitor to the home.

The professional care team at Darnley Court takes the time to learn about each resident’s individual hobbies and interests, to help those living in the home to lead an active and fulfilling life. In addition to the range of activities available, the team also encourages residents to take an active role in the Glasgow community, from building relationships with neighbours in local community groups and schools, to arranging sightseeing trips in the local area.

Staff are very diligent, always kind and caring. Professional attitude, treat the residents with dignity. Staff have a laugh with the residents and visitors and encourage the other residents to join in.

Service is good - rooms are good. Plenty of cupboards and drawers. Staff are both friendly and helpful. Also, staff will seek advice about medical matters. Management and office including utility staff are marvellous.

This is a great place. The Carmichael Unit is fab, with great caring staff, bright and welcoming and very clean.
Very pleasant staff who are always on hand to help or answer a query.
I would highly recommend this unit.
The unit manager is always on hand to have a chat and put worries at ease, she
runs a very effective, pleasant unit.

Some staff virtually ignore me, and are quite unhelpful. Team working is not evident. I find that when visiting my sister at above named nursing home, there is a failure in their communication system in the unit. Staff are very reluctant to engage in a meaningful, relevant dialogue.
When I ask for
information about my sister's general well-being there are various responses such as; "I don't know" "I am just back from days off!, "I was on holiday", "It has been agency staff working on some shifts". It is my opinion that such responses are highly unsatisfactory and concerning, communication is 'key' in any care setting.

Since my aunt has come to Darnley Court the staff have being very helpful and kind not just to my aunt but to the family. It makes us as a family feel good that she is being given a good and caring time for as long as she is here and we give thanks to all the staff in the care home.

Since my dad arrived as a resident (March 2015) he has been very well looked after. Having been a resident in quite a few places previously, Darnley Court Care Home had provided my dad with the specialist care and compassion that so many people with dementia require. Our family are more than happy with
the knowledge that my dad is being looked after so well. Each and every member of staff here go above and beyond what we would expect, not only the nurses and care staff, kitchen, cleaners, office staff etc. Thank you.
