Darnley Court Care Home, located in the thriving community of Glasgow, provides personalised nursing and nursing dementia care to older people.

From the moment we came the care has been outstanding and very happy as a family with our decision to come to Darnley. The staff are so helpful and friendly and can’t do enough for us. The management team are always around and I was very reassured to see them around in the evenings and weekends as well.
The office staff always have a warm welcome and the kitchen have exceeded in providing a specialised diet needed where other places we visited told us we would need to buy things ourself. The company should be very proud of the team in this home.

My mum came in for respite and ended up staying. We are over the moon with the care and I can now relax at night knowing Mum is safe and well looked after. I can now get back to a mum/daughter relationship after being her carer which is great. Thanks to all the staff.

I visit my friend every week and she loves it here. I never thought that I would say that. She even helps in the hairdresser throughout the day to keep her busy and she learned how to do french plaits. Who says you are too old to learn new things. It's a great home. The new management team are outstanding.
The staff can't do enough for my friend - and me when I visit!

All the staff are extremely helpful, will answer any questions I have; they involve my uncle in activities if he is able and allow him some quiet time when he needs it. Everyone, nursing staff, caregivers, kitchen staff and domestic staff are very approachable. Senior staff keep me informed of any
changes to his health or care plan.


It is good that they have an optician, dentist, hairdresser and a podiatrist visit the unit. For some of the residents, it may be better to have the religious services more frequently.

I feel that my relative receives very good care, even though I sometimes think the staff are pushed and work very hard, they get a good job done.
The environment is always friendly and the décor, although adequate, would benefit from a little upgrade. Overall, I am happy with the care my relative receives.

Dad seems happy. He is well cared for. Staff really nice and helpful. Only problem is getting in or out of building, sometimes difficult waiting around until people free to open door, especially at weekend. Sticky floors? Are they for benefit of residents?

Generally speaking, the home satisfies my mother's needs. However, there never seems to be enough staff to attend to all the resident's needs. If this issue was sorted out then my review would be higher.

All of the staff at Darnley Court are very efficient and friendly. They have treated both my husband and I as part of one big happy family.

The standard of care has been consistent and excellent. The staff work well as a team and their approach is kind and very professional. My mother is being treated with dignity and this is very important to us as a family. Facilities are very good with freshly prepared food at meal times and a well stocked
kitchen for anyone eating at night. The staff communicate well with all family members. The care workers and nurses are just amazing and everything seems to be planned and organised. It is clear that the staff nurses and managers are experienced and well respected.

My dad, who has complex needs, including dementia and a brain injury, is well cared for by the lovely staff at Darnley Court. They make sure his needs are met and keep the family informed of any changes in his care or if any incidents occur.
It would benefit the home if there were more staff employed
in order to take some of the stress off the staff that already work there.

My mum's care took a while to get to our satisfaction but happy with it just now. We visit twice a day some other people don't get any visit and I feel don't get as good care as others. Staff seem busy all the time, I feel there's not enough staff, not enough time to interact with residents.

The staffing levels in the home are agreed with the Care Inspectorate and take into consideration resident dependency needs. Unfortunately, some Residents receive little or no visitors and staff try to ensure that they spend additional time with these Residents. Activities are ongoing throughout the home and a weekly planner is displayed in each of the units informing Residents and visitors what activities are happening and when. Care staff also encourage Residents to participate in meaningful activity throughout the day.

I have found the level of service and the standard of care to be excellent. The staff are not only professional at all times, they are friendly, very caring and extremely patient. They also keep the atmosphere 'upbeat' at all times. They have my utmost respect and admiration. My mother could not be
