Since I have been a daily visitor to this home since March 2018, I have been welcomed at the desk when signing in, always with a smiling face, same with all nursing staff, carers and management. There is always a fresh smell when you enter and the rooms are always clean and well aired. There is always
some kind of entertainment. All in all, I don't have any complaints. They are always ready to answer any questions I may have always ready to help.

My mum is always cheerful and well dressed. All members of staff take time to chat and make her laugh. We are kept informed of mum's progress, how much she eats and drinks and if she is taking her medication. I fell she is always treated with dignity and well cared for. All staff and management are
approachable and always act professionally.

My mum has been in Four Hills since January. Her health and general well being has improved greatly, she has company outside lots. Staff are fab and keep you up to date with things and are all so lovely. My mum is so happy there, always keep them occupied with stuff. Her room is nice and clean. I see
a great improvement in her. I would highly recommend Four Hills.

Dad was in Four Hills for almost a month with a terminal illness. Staff worked to make him feel at home and were universally kind. The home was spotlessly clean, warm and well ventilated. Rooms are small, which made it difficult for staff using equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers and toilet equipment.
Food was excellent with plenty of choices, served in various locations or residents’ rooms according to their preference. I was not aware of any activities but dad receives a thoughtful gift from Santa. Staff provided excellent care for dad as he deteriorated, protecting him from falls and ensuring he was as comfortable as possible. The carers were always upbeat with a sense of humour, ensuring his dignity was preserved and nothing was a bother. Nurses were open and responsive to my queries and concerns. It was tricky contacting the off-site doctor for permission to alter treatment. Staff ensured I was supplied with tea and meals while sitting with Dad. A well-run home.

Mum received palliative care in the Firhill Unit from August 2017 until she passed away in November. During her stay, she was treated with nothing but love and kindness. At the slightest sign of any pain or discomfort, Mum was treated quickly and appropriately by the nursing team so that she was able
to live out her final weeks in relative comfort.


The care staff made sure that Mum was clean and comfortable and also paid attention to her medical needs in addition to their normal duties. All staff treated Mum as an individual, and their warmth and humour made things so much easier to bear. Many of them went ‘above and beyond’ what we would have expected. As a family, we could not have got through Mum’s final days and hours without the support of all the staff. They provided reassurance and comfort, brought us food, gave us hugs and sent us home for rest when we were on our knees. When Mum passed away, she was treated with such dignity - we couldn’t have asked for more.

Four Hills is well administered as well as clean and tidy, both individual rooms and common areas.
The home is well staffed and the staff are skilled in all relevant areas, very competent and take a friendly and individual interest in all the residents.
Small events take place frequently and visitors
are very welcome.

Dad's diabetes has been out of control for some months whilst in hospital. Four Hills nursing and care staff have made significant efforts to control his blood sugar by testing his blood up to six times a day adjusting his insulin as required and carefully receiving his food intake. He has other health
problems which exacerbate diabetes and they have helped to manage and control his condition while dealing expertly and sympathetically with is other problems.

Our mum will be in Four Hills Care Home 2 years April this year 2017. The standard of care is very good. The staff do a great job and make the family feel welcome when we visit mum, from the girls at the front desk to nurses, carers and the domestic staff.

My father was cared for in the Lambhill Unit by wonderful staff who not only looked after him but the whole family. Nothing was a bother and made us feel still very much part of his care. My dad loved the banter with the staff and had a wicked sense of humour which he maintained to the end. In the
last few days of my dad's life the staff went about the business with compassion, care, understanding and were very unobtrusive when dealing with such a painful situation for family.
Sadly I was unable to be there with my dad at the end, my sisters were, as I live in Australia but never in his time there did the staff make me feel I was a nuisance when I called. The care he received was second to none and I would have no hesitation in recommending Fourhills to anyone looking for a care facility for their loved one. The staff made us feel they treated the residents like their own family, sadly something not every care home does.
Some areas looked tired but the care made up for that.

My dad was transferred from the royal infirmary Glasgow to Four Hills for palliative care where the staff have been lovely to my dad, nothing is too much for any of the staff as dad is getting better I would just like to say a big thank you to all the staff for Excellent care. Dad has his up's and downs,

Our aunt was transferred from Glasgow Royal Infirmary to Four Hills for palliative care and she was very worried about "going into a home". When we visited her on her first day we were very impressed with the ambience and overall condition, appearance and feeling of the home. We cannot overstate the
level of personal care and attention ALL of the carers in Firhill section provided to us personally as relatives and visitors, and more importantly the care that our aunt received during her short stay at Four Hills. The knowledge that everyone at Four Hills eased the passing of our beloved aunt made our experience considerably less anxious and more bearable.

John Cunningham

Job Title: General Manager

I am a registered nurse by profession with over 35 years of experience working in the private care home sector and I am very proud to be leading the team here at Four Hills.


My aim is to provide person centred care alongside the highest level of service possible to each and every one of our residents. Our team is focused on designing an individual life enrichment programme to ensure each resident has activities tailored to them and their individual interests.


Nutrition is an integral part of daily living. At Four Hills our fully qualified chefs have developed a bespoke seasonal menu using fresh locally sourced produce to ensure each resident has a well-balanced choice whether at breakfast, lunch or supper.


I am extremely passionate in my job role and strive to ensure that my team work to the highest standards and share my knowledge with them to ensure that all have full understanding of what my expectations as the general manager are to deliver exceptional and compassionate care to our residents.


Supporting, reassuring and communicating with residents and their loved ones is my highest priority and enriching our residents lives to the fullest.

Job Title: Deputy Home Manager - Non Clinical

Tracy is the Deputy Manager here at Four Hills. She combines her expertise in providing not only first-class care in the home but also ensures that everyone is trained to a high standard ensuring that the team develop their skills.


Tracy was the BHC Divisional Winner for Care Practitioner of the Year in 2019. Tracy is a valuable team member for both Four Hills and Barchester and has worked with us since 1997!

Annie Murray

Job Title: Home Administrator

Joined: 2014

Annie joined Four Hills in 2014 in the Laundry department before moving to the front-of-house in Jun 2015. After Annie's hard work and continuous support to the home, Annie was promoted to Administrator in February 2022.


Annie loves to interact with residents and families and does not only a great job at supporting our residents but our staff too.

Eileen Orr

Job Title: Activities Coordinator

Eileen joined the Four Hills Family in 1999 and has worked in various roles since. Eileen originally started as a Kitchen Assistant, then moved on to Domestic, before moving on to her current role as Activities Assistant since 2017.


Eileen loves to bring joy to residents' lives by putting on meaningful and engaging activities. From in-house entertainment to trips out, our Activities team always have something going on to keep our residents engaged and stimulated.
