What an amazing place, they are taking great care of my granddad and all the staff are amazing and very friendly and very helpful. I was very worried about my granddad going into a home but from day one they made him very welcome and care for him very well.

My Dad's carer has made us feel special and very helpful. Thanks to her coming back from maternity leave. My Dad was happy you are back at work. I think she is his favourite, and ours. She even brought him a jar of coffee when he ran out. She paid for it out of her own pocket, this is beyond the care, so thank you.

I had reservations about using a care home as you hear a lot of stories but from day one the staff were great. The rooms were kept clean, plenty of entertainment for the residents and they take great care of Dad which is a blessing.

From the reception area all through this care home, the atmosphere was calm and peaceful. It is not possible to single out one member of staff as all were superb, kind and caring.
Unfortunately, my husband was unable to participate in any of the activities or enjoy the food so I cannot comment on them.

But the care he received in his short stay was outstanding and after he died the staff treated me with great sensitivity.

I have been delighted by the effort of everyone in Greenfield Park - for the fantastic care offered to my mother in her end of life care. I would recommend this placement to anyone who believes the end of life care should be tailored to meet individual needs, preferences and wishes. This home is immaculate with delicious food, entertainment, space and décor. All the staff are friendly, professional and genuinely seem to care and enjoy their roles in supporting and caring for elderly adults.

During the final days of my gran's life, she resided in the Finlay Suite. The staff there offered my gran the best possible care within a comfortable cosy environment, supporting the family during a very difficult time - over several days. The residents were treated with genuine care and compassion and it was evident that the staff team work together to accommodate individual needs, wishes and preferences to ensure every one of the residents feels respected and cared for during the day and night.

During the 3 weeks of my grandmothers stay, I found the standard of care and support she received within the Finlay Suite to be impeccable. The staff provided consistent stimulation to keep my gran active, comfortable and contented within a nurturing homely environment. Visitors were welcomed and involved in activities - myself and my 3-year old daughter enjoyed the Cinderella panto, along with my gran and the staff made my daughter feel included in songs and later found a photo of this great memory in my grans room, a wonderful personal touch! Every one of the staff team made the final 3 weeks of my gran's life as enjoyable and comfortable as we could have hoped for.

My mother is being well cared for and her needs being seen to. She is in the "End of Life" period and kept pain free, clean and comfortable.
The staff talk to her and tell me stories of her day.

Happy with her care and her room though the drawers and wardrobes are looking worn and due for replacements, apart from that I have been happy with my mother's care and the compassion shown by the staff.

Reply from Clare Sheehan, Care Advisor at Greenfield Park Care Home

Thank you for your feedback. The wardrobe and drawers were built into the bedroom, these will be replaced as part of our ongoing refurbishment of residents' bedrooms.

My mother-in-law stayed at the home since February 2016. The family are extremely happy with the care she has been given.

She was in end of life care until February this year and has put on over a stone in weight which are delighted.

The staff in the care home are very friendly and welcoming when the family visit. We are encouraged to contact them at any time either to check on my mother or if we have any question or concerns. I feel my mother is safe and well taken care of. We are kept up to date on her condition and status. She is always clean and tidy and enjoys the activities especially the weekly concerts. The home is very well maintained and is kept spotlessly clean.

For 1 week my husband had to use a bed not long enough. The carers always put people's t-shirts on him, even though he had plenty of nice cotton shirts of his own, not even his cotton pyjamas. He developed a sweat rash (Urticaria) and the doctor had to treat him. He was very itchy and uncomfortable. Staff did not listen when he asked to use his own clothes, not t-shirts.

The bedroom wasn't clean, unsanitary. Pads left on the bathroom floor and food spillage on. The bedstead was never cleaned away, all the time he was in bed - he was bed bound.

Reply from Katie Price, Careline Advisor at Greenfield Park Care Home

“Our beds are of a standard size, as soon as we became aware of the need for an extension for this bed it was ordered. We now have a stock of bed extensions on site so we can access to these as and when needed.

We are sorry that you felt the standard of cleanliness was not up to our usual...

The care given to my gran in her time in Greenfield Park was second to none. I could find no fault in a thing. My gran thoroughly enjoyed herself here and regularly attended daily activities. The support given to us as a family after her passing will never be forgotten. My gran was treated with utmost respect and dignity and I appreciate every member of staff that looked after her.

My dad was transferred from hospital to the Finway Unit (palliative care) of Greenfield Park Care Home. He was treated with kindness, patience, and dignity by all the staff until his death.

As a family, we went through a very sad and difficult time but the staff went out of their way day and night to try to make us a comfortable as possible. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They are an asset to their profession.

My mammy was admitted to intermediate unit, then accessed as requiring nursing care and moved into Roselea Unit. As primary carer I was distraught and I felt so guilty that I could no longer care for her. My mammy was in Roselea Unit for 16 months before she passed away on 10 July 2017.
I cannot praise the manager and his staff highly enough for the love, care, respect and compassion they gave to both my mammy and us. We were daily visitors, including a 2 and 3 year old, who quickly took over the place, running around, chatting to all. We quickly accepted all the staff as extended family and became very close to many of them.
During my mammy's last weeks, we took over a sitting room and were there 24/7. Staff were ever attentive, supportive and caring towards us.

I have fond memories of the many happy times we spent with my mammy and the staff; and am forever grateful to them all, and miss them all; and I know that the staff will miss the kids running around.

My father passed away at Greenfield Park Nursing Home on the 19th of April, after 2 1/2 years as a resident. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all nursing staff, carers and management for the care and compassion shown to my father during the time of his stay in the home.

Like many people, I had read various horror stories of the treatment of the elderly in some care homes, and it was with some apprehension that my family agreed that dad now required full-time care.

Thankfully, Greenfield Park was his salvation, and ours. When he was admitted, we felt that he might live for only a few weeks. Thanks to the care he received, he had a good quality of life for 2 1/2 years. We shall be forever grateful for this extra time with dad.

All credit management and staff also. We respect reception and admin for the most courteous and helpful manner they carried out on a daily basis. Must make a mention to all the care staff I have been in contact with who are very efficient in a very stressful and demanding job they have to deal with 24 hours.
