My first impression is of a very warm and welcoming place. The staff are all fantastic and help whenever needed. You can always find a staff member with a smile. The food is also excellent and it is great that it is made fresh on the premises. The rooms are all comfortable and very clean.

I enjoyed my stay at this establishment. The staff, as well as some of the residents, made me feel welcome.
My only issue was that my laundry went missing on a number of occasions. The staff at night time (through the night) sometimes appeared unhelpful but overall my stay helped me in a number of
ways and it was close to my family to visit.

My father became more settled and relaxed soon after arriving from a long and often difficult hospitalisation. His medical needs were varied and he needed wound management in some areas. All were very well managed and looked after. Nursing staff and carers we met were respectful, kind and caring. Many
went the extra mile to meet his needs and wishes. As a family, we were delighted to see my father become more like his old self and we're extremely grateful and thankful.

The care and help shown towards our father completely changed him from being a frail, frightened man to a happy, smiling man. My sister and I were stunned at the rapid improvement in him. The staff not only looked after him, they also took great care of us.
We will be forever grateful to them all.

My mum went into Northgate House Care Home intermediate care March 2019 after being really unwell. The 4weeks in intermediate care she was very well looked after my mum had given up on most things in life and after a couple of weeks, my mum started to improve the staff are amazing with her. She then
moved down to residential care in April 2019. We were allowed to decorate her room and bring some of her own furniture up and make it as homely as possible for her in her “single end” as she calls it. My mum now has a new lease of life she’s doing amazing and settled very well thanks to the wonderful staff in this home we now feel like we have our mum back again. She is now a permanent resident and loves her new home. For the first time in years, we can put our head on the pillow at night and know our mum is safe and happy.

All the management and the whole team do an amazing job from the heart. My mum had given up on most things, can be stubborn and difficult, the team have brought her back to her old self which was a big challenge!
They have got to know Mum inside and out and she is loving life again, feels safe, loved,
has made new friends and gets involved in activities. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, homely and very professional, the personal care is also very good. For the first time in 18 months we as a family have peace of mind knowing Mum is well looked after and very happy in her new house (as she sees it).
Mum still says to me "No way will I ever go into a care home full of old people". Mum celebrated her 80th birthday today with family friends and the team in her new house and I'm sure there will be many more birthdays to come thanks to Northgate House.
Mum's days also have lots of laughter and fun and my time with Mum is now quality time.

Since the day my father went into Northgate house he was cared for extremely well and made to feel at home. His changing condition and needs were well anticipated and catered for. We, the family, were always well informed on matters; communication from management and staff was excellent. End of life
care and support was exceptional. The nurses and carers could not have been more thoughtful and considerate and my father was allowed to pass away comfortably and peacefully. We were also supported and looked after at this time exceptionally well.

Communication terrible. Care home staff failed to make contact with family after an incident.
Care within the home was not as I would have expected after reading the reviews.
One staff member, in particular, was very nice and caring.
Too many supply/cover staff.

My mother seems to be comfortable enough in her room. Meals are always served on time and cleaning staff always working. When I visit, other nursing staff are always visible, as are other staff.

My father receives excellent care.
He is well looked after.
All of his needs are well catered for.
The staff are great, not only with my father but all of the residents in his unit.
It is a great relief that he is safe and secure in the home.

If with could move Northgate House Care Home and it's staff nearer to us, we wouldn't move our mum.
Our mum loves the staff, the company of other residents and sitting watching TV with everyone.
She gets her hair done weekly and loves the food. Staff care here.
