Buchanan Lodge Care Home, providing residential, nursing, dementia and respite care aims to enable each resident to make the most of every day by offering an active and friendly environment.

Located in Bearsden, Glasgow, the building was originally a convent building but has been sympathetically converted with residents' care and comfort in mind. Residents benefit from a varied activities programme, which includes everything from music and movement classes to quizzes and concerts to make each day fun and interesting.

The home features a TV lounge, a quiet sitting room and conservatory and a dining room where residents can socialise while enjoying tasty, nutritious home-cooked meals.

It gives me great peace knowing my grandmother is being cared for at Buchanan Lodge. The staff are warm, welcoming, and so friendly. I love seeing all the updates and photos of all the great activities they put on for the residents. Thank you to all the staff.

The staff are incredible and do everything with a smile. Mum is relaxed and happy. Her room is small but quiet - although it could do with brightening up, as could the outside of the building. Overall, we are very happy with Mum care.

Mum has been very well looked after by the staff, particularly considering the Coronavirus restrictions. Three carers deserve special mention, but all the staff have been kind and helpful.

Buchanan Lodge has a great team throughout - Activities coordinators, kitchen, laundry, carers, nurses and management.
It is very important to me and the family to have the best care and companionship for our loved ones. The past year or so has not been easy for any of us but the whole team kept going
and are still doing a great job.

Buchanan Lodge is a very pleasant space overall. Indoors it is clean, nicely decorated and full of comfortable seating. The tools are meticulously tidy, with decent bedding and chairs. The staff are friendly, attentive to each resident's personal requirement.

Dad has been a resident at Buchanan Lodge for over 18 months now, although we were initially sad to see him leave his house in the village, his friends and neighbours, we have been so happy with the service provided by this lovely home. It feels like being part of a family when we come to visit him,
it is hugely reassuring to know how well he is looked after by the very professional and kind staff. They go out their way to make sure he's not only comfortable but also happy and feeling valued. Our three children love visiting him and are all impressed by the quality of the activities and meals provided daily.

Having worked in nursing homes over the years, I can honestly say that Buchanan Lodge ticks all the boxes, as in staff being very nice and attentive to the residents and also to the visitors. It is very relaxing and I enjoy my visits. The residents are also kept clean and tidy. Bedrooms are spotless
too. Food is excellent and it's not any bother to the staff to make us visitors a cuppa. 10/10**

My sister in law is like a different person due to the care and attention given to her. She is talking, smiling, eating and drinking. Before she came to the home she didn't eat or talk. What a change in her. She will talk about entertainment which is great. It's nice for her to be included. She loves
the exercise, nails, hand massage. All this has made a big difference to her.
We as a family are delighted with what all staff have done for her. Everyone works hard and nothing is any bother.

My family often visit this home during the Christmas coffee mornings and the summer fayres, and it’s a lovely home. My granddad is a resident and he continually praises about how good it is. He loves the food and the weekly entertainment. They provide a warm and caring environment for my grandad when

My great aunt is a resident here and she absolutely loves it. The home is beautiful and all the staff are so kind and caring. Everyone makes her feel so at home and take care to attend to her specific needs. She is always entertained and especially enjoys the Christmas coffee morning, which we also
love - although we never win the tombola!! She absolutely loves the food and never has had one complaint about it. I could not recommend this home any more and would never trust anyone other than Brighterkind to look after my aunty!

So glad my daughter found Buchanan Lodge, staff are so helpful in every way, the care plan was explained excellently, within a few weeks an optician was there to visit, so client very happy with new glasses. There are lots of staff about, homemade cooking, clean rooms, and all needs are met.
Please
check care homes, don't just take the ones nearest at hand, shop around, as the previous care home was an absolute nightmare of a place. The client said herself, night and day between the last care home in Ruchill to the present one; Buchanan Lodge.
The client is so happy where she is and the family are delighted with all care given. Happy days, no more sleepless nights worrying. Excellent place.
