So glad my daughter found Buchanan Lodge, staff are so helpful in every way, the care plan was explained excellently, within a few weeks an optician was there to visit, so client very happy with new glasses. There are lots of staff about, homemade cooking, clean rooms, and all needs are met.
Please check care homes, don't just take the ones nearest at hand, shop around, as the previous care home was an absolute nightmare of a place. The client said herself, night and day between the last care home in Ruchill to the present one; Buchanan Lodge.

The client is so happy where she is and the family are delighted with all care given. Happy days, no more sleepless nights worrying. Excellent place.

I happened to be in visiting my friend unplanned visit and was delighted to find there was an Easter Bonnet parade on. It was absolutely lovely, laughter, games tea and cakes. We had a really lovely time together along with everyone else. I was made to feel really welcome by all the staff. I can't thank them enough for a lovely memory for my friend and I to have.

I feel that the staff have met my dad's needs in all areas. He is well cared for and there is always a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble. There is always a range of activities for residents to take part in and it's varied and stimulating. Staff are always there to talk to and answer questions. As a family, we have peace of mind that my dad is so well cared for.

My mother-in-law has only been in the home since Friday (5 days) but every visit I see the same staff who are all very caring.
My mother-in-law says the food is very good.

Today, an audiologist came in to measure for new hearing aids, she has been in many homes and she remarked how lovely this one is.

Buchanan Lodge provides a friendly caring environment for my Mum who has dementia. They ensure her safety at all times. They ensure her social, physical and nutritional needs are met. They ensure she is dressed to a high standard and that her hair and nails are done on a weekly basis.

It provides myself and my family great peace of mind that my mum is so well cared for in her declining years.

I was in to see my mum on Christmas day and she has been in Buchanan Lodge for over 10 years so I have got to know the staff over the years - the effort and spread of food for Christmas lunch was fantastic and it is a credit to all the staff who were in giving up their Christmas day - these people are a dedicated bunch of professionals and I can say nothing but good things about them - I would highly recommend Buchanan Lodge to anyone!!

My mother has been a resident at Buchanan Lodge Care Home for over a year now and we as a family have always found the home and staff to be very welcoming. One of the first things that we noticed - or should I say did not notice was the normal smell of urine that I have come to expect when visiting care homes as a contractor. We found that this was a welcome item that was missing and it has continued like this throughout mums stay (apart from times when obviously residents are being taken to toilets or first thing in the morning.)

The home has recently been redecorated with new chairs in the general lounge area. The staff are all very friendly and approachable and treat the residents with dignity - even when being subjected to some unfriendly moves from some residents at times.

With regards to costs, we find the costs quite steep but on a par with most other local homes.

Buchannan lodge has been a great home for my sister. Plenty of daily activities, hairdresser on a Wednesday and weekly outings. The staff are lovely and the activities coordinator is great. The only downside is the rooms which are in need of an overhaul. Would recommend to friends and family.
