She is settled and feels safe. The nurses and other medical staff are very good and proactive.
I could highly recommend this care home to anyone. The management are very approachable and helpful.
The service is going through a period of transition of management and work is being done in order to give more activities to our residents. We are currently organizing the following. Burns supper 25th January, Musical memories Feb 7th, valentines day 14th Feb, st paddy's day party 17th march and finally Easter events

Rowena has been part of the team at Abercorn for many years, proudly working her way up from Deputy Manager to her current role leading the home.
Since she became the home manager in 2023, Abercorn has received a 'Very Good' Care Inspectorate rating, with a 'Very Good' in every single area, as well as being named runner up in the Care Home of the Year Award (Scotland) in the Caring UK Awards 2024!
Coming to Scotland in 2004, Rowena graduated as a nurse in 1993 in Manila.
She is passionate about involving residents' loved ones in everyday life at Abercorn and champions residents to have an active role to play in how the home is run, with both resident and relative ambassadors.

First trained as a nurse, Wendy is our Unit Manager at Abercorn House. Wendy has worked with us for many years and she loves the comradery of the staff at the home, which you should feel as soon as you walk through our doors.
