Ashlea Court Care Home

Overall care of Mum by all staff has been excellent. She settled in very quickly with no problems at all.

The home is kept clean and I never smell odours to suggest negligence in hygiene. The staff have proved caring and attentive to residents whilst being helpful to relatives. Their record during the months of covid has been excellent. The meals are good and the food plentiful.

My mum has been residing at Ashlea Court for 13 years. During this time she has been cared for with dignity and understanding. Management and staff listen to her concerns with understanding and compassion. Working together as a team has always been my utmost goal since Mum entered the home. The cleaning staff, laundry staff, cooks have always provided the highest standards throughout the years as have the carers (again teamwork). During lockdown, all measures were adhered to impeccably and continue to be.

My wife has now been in Ashlea Court since the beginning of April 21. From day one to present, I have found the staff (from top to bottom) to be attentive to the needs and requirements of not only my wife as a resident but to me as well. Trusting that this continues.

As a family, we are delighted with the care my papa is receiving at Ashlea Court. He is always very well presented and the staff are always able to answer any questions that we have regarding his care. They treat him with dignity and respect and it is very comforting to know that he is being well looked after and being treated as an individual.

Very happy with the care Mum has had since she has been at Ashlea Court (Sept 2021). Mum is very well looked after by all staff members, very happy with everything from the care, food, and entertainment provided by everyone.

A big thank you to all the staff team for all the care and attention you give my mum. The manager and her team are always there to welcome us when we visit mum. We get regular telephone calls and emails on all the covid changes. My mum says she loves all the staff and that they are wonderful. My mum could not be in a better place.

Having known the care home for some time with my aunt being cared for in Ashlea Court, I had no hesitation in getting a place for my mother. The staff and care are first class. Thank you.

My wife was in your care and I found the home excellent. Staff kept me up to date and I know it would have been easy to nurse her in bed as she needed to be hoisted, but when I came to visit she was up and watching TV. I appreciate the work the staff did as the last home couldn't even take the time to wash her hair.

My Aunt has been in the home and she's settled in great, staff are fantastic, and she is well looked after, they had a cake for her 100th birthday in April and had balloons and cards, she was very happy, even though she lost her only Daughter (my cousin) last January. They look after her and she's always saying the staff here are wonderful, can't fault them.

My mother was struggling at home on her own and as a family, we decided to put her in a care home. After looking at a few on the website we opted for Ashlea Court Care Home. Our mother is now settled and well looked after.

My partner went into Ashlea Court on 6th April as he has early-onset Alzheimer's. The decision to put him into a home was the hardest decision I have ever made, but it has been made easier knowing that he is being so well looked after and cared for all the time. The staff are always friendly and accommodating and are doing all they can to support loved ones both inside and outside the home during this unsettled period of Covid restrictions. My partner always seems content in the home and I know that everyone there is looking out for him, keeping me updated on anything that is happening. I am looking forward to when restrictions are more relaxed so that visits can be a bit more spontaneous and I know the staff will welcome this as well. I am so grateful to you all for looking after him so well. Thank you so much.

My mother has had the most excellent care and attention since moving to respite care at the end of March 2021. We cannot thank the staff enough for all they have done to settle mum into her new environment. Thank you again.

Staff are obliging and go out of their way to facilitate requests. Family member treated with dignity and respect. Not able to review facilities, food and drink or activities as not in the home due to COVID. Food and drink appears to be varied.

My father has only been a resident of Ashlea for about 5/6 weeks. The staff have been fantastic in keeping us informed on how my father is doing during lockdown. We have visited twice for a window visit and he looked very settled and happy with the nursing staff that came in during the visit. Managed to get in for an inside visit last week and the staff were great doing the LFT and letting me in for a visit. During the visit my dad looked well looked after in himself and happy with his room. Spoke to staff while there about my dad and nothing seemed too much trouble for them to help my dad feel at home.

Since my husband became a resident in Ashlea Court in January 2020, I quickly became aware of the high level of compassionate and professional care extended to residents (and by extension to family). When deemed necessary, medical help is immediately on hand via a nurse and the local surgery. Staff are always amenable to answering phone calls from me, offering support and encouragement to me in the absence of internal visiting. (Covid-19.) Under excellent management, the staff have shown exceptional dedication in their care, enabling a family atmosphere to prevail. Activities continue, engaging and entertaining their 'family'. My Father has been a resident in Ashlea Court Care Home in Ashgill near Larkhall for nearly 2 years. Our family is very happy with the care he is receiving. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They are very good at communicating with us particularly during this time of us being unable to make normal visits. They keep us up to date on any changes to health and wellbeing situations. We would highly recommend this care home if you are looking for a homely and friendly place for your loved ones to live in their older years.

The care my mom has received since she came in the home has been excellent. The staff and management have always kept me informed on mom's wellbeing. Before covid, many times I arrived at the home unannounced. I found my mom to be clean at all times and she was always well-nourished and hydrated. There was always plenty of activities going on and a good atmosphere going on. The bedroom was always clean and tidy. The staff are caring and attentive to the residents and provide reassurance to people with dementia. The home is well run and I would recommend it to anyone.

Over the years I have built up a sense of trust with the staff and management of this care home, and I am happy to reinforce that trust in a positive manner in this review. My family and I greatly appreciate not only the care our relative receives but also the regular contact regarding health and treatment etc. All this from an interested and dedicated staff who continue to show remarkable resourcefulness in these unprecedented times. Prior to March 2020, I visited daily for years since then due to Covid-19, I have not visited. Aged 88, I am hopeful to be vaccinated within the next three to four weeks and if conditions allowed, I would visit again. Since March my daughter has been in daily contact by telephone with your staff who have been extremely helpful in advising my wife's condition which she relays to me, which is most reassuring.
