Cathkin House

From the minute we viewed Cathkin and then met the staff, we knew it was the absolute the right place for our dad. We have been able to enjoy him and not worry about him - for the first time years, we know he is getting the best care possible. Four members of staff, in particular, what a fabulous job you do for him, he is incredibly lucky to have access to such caring and considerate people. The home is clean, it doesn’t smell like a care home. It really is a home away from home and I will forever recommend it. 10/10.

We have only been using this service for five weeks but it has given us as a family peace of mind knowing our sister is being well looked after and is in a safe environment. The staff have made us as a family feel welcome whenever we come to visit.

Mum has been in the care home for approximately six weeks. Although it took her a few weeks to settle the staff and management have always been very attentive and available for family to talk too. Mum comments often how well-fed she is and how well she is taken care of. The change in her over the last six weeks has been remarkable and she is very happy.

The place is tidy, smart and the staff and management are excellent. My wife has put on weight since she came in the home and her pain is managed very well. Care delivery has been excellent and the staff could not do enough for her.

I find the care home to be very friendly and above all, my mum is well looked after. It is near to where I live and easy for me to get to on a regular basis.

What a delight it is to visit my sister at Cathkin House Care Home. Her care has been outstanding, carried out by extremely professional, courteous and caring staff, it is obvious that it is a great place to work. My sister is happy and her health and well-being have improved enormously in the last five months. Thank you all so much.

Since coming to the care home, I have seen a great improvement in my daughter's health and well-being.

Mum complained upon returning that her wrist was still painful even after the cast had been removed and it was clearly visible that her wrist was not right. Fast forward 4 weeks when mum again had a fall and I sat with her for 3 hours waiting for an ambulance. Then 3.5 hours in a hospital car park waiting to be triaged with no pain relief. Mum was discharged back to the home, however, she was complaining of terrible pain in her side and for 8 days was ignored by staff. I had requested additional pain relief and was ignored then finally a doctor was called and suspected her hip had been damaged. She had a broken pelvis, she lay for 8 days in agony with a broken pelvis being ignored by the staff.

I am really happy with the home, Mum has settled in well. She is happy and I see a change in her, more like her old self. Staff are very good.

I am so pleased with the home. The staff are great, very helpful. Mum is getting on well, I see a big change in her, she is content and happy and we have peace of mind that she is well looked after.

Both management and care staff have been very patient and attentive to my mother since her arrival in January 2023. Management's advice, help and sensitive listening to us have made things much easier for us. There is normally plenty of staff around when we visit which we find reassuring. Staff respond quickly to our requests and help facilitate special events, like my mother's recent birthday. We have been very happy with my mum's care at Cathkin House Care Home.

My mum unexpectedly and quickly needed professional, 24-hour care. This is the first place myself and sister viewed, we immediately had a very positive "feel" for the place. From day one, from the manager to every member of staff, to this day, have been so friendly, helpful and professional. I can only say that I feel comfortable, relaxed and positive that my mum is receiving exceptional care on a daily basis.

We are so grateful for the high standard of care given to my relative. She settled quickly due to the kindness, care and humour given by staff and the stimulating range of activities on offer. When we visit she looks happy, clean and content. Thank you all.

On entering this establishment we were greeted by lovely staff and welcomed in to see our friend who is being looked after very well and he is a very happy man.

Our friend is looking as good as I have seen. He is very alert and looks very at ease. I think the staff and the establishment have a lot to do with his health and well-being. I think all concerned should be proud of their work and dedication.

I felt very relaxed and secure when I came to review the care home for my mother-in-law. I was given a choice of rooms and was able to decorate as I wanted. Nothing was any problem if I required help. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Very impressed with the caring attitude of all staff. Leadership is also excellent.

Mum has only been a resident at Cathkin House Care Home for just over two weeks, it is, therefore, difficult to comment on all of the categories. To date, however, we have had a very positive experience and have received excellent support and guidance from the manager and other staff we have met so far, during what has been a very stressful time for our family. Mum appears to have settled reasonably well and we look forward to working with all staff to ensure her happiness and contentment.

The staff, including the managers, are wonderful and treat my mum with love and respect. She looks great and is settling in well. I can sleep again at night knowing she is being well looked after.
