Lornebank Care Centre is a purpose-built nursing home nestled in the heart of Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, providing a welcoming and supportive environment for up to 74 residents. The centre offers comprehensive, person-centred care, including advanced and early-stage dementia support, general nursing care, and respite care stays. Each of the 74 single rooms is equipped with en-suite facilities, and residents are encouraged to personalise their private space.

The facility is spread across two floors with a lift and features five units, each with shared and private communal spaces. My Dad is very much more contented since coming to Lornebank. The staff are very approachable and caring. He is always clean and obviously being well cared for. My Mum is 84 and has previously been concerned and worried about his care, but since moving here in November she and my sister, plus myself,
are a bit more content in the knowledge that he is safe.

The staff are very nice and friendly. The food looks first class, i felt safe for my mother being in this home. Nothing is a problem to the staff from domestics nurses, carers, all staff. The carers are very good to my family they keep us up to date with her needs and care.

Carers have made the experience so much easier, Nanna is treated like a person rather than a number. They really listen to her needs and help with our concerns. I have spoken to the staff to ask if my nanna can have a room with toilet facilities. There is an amazing atmosphere when entertainers come
in and would be great to see this often. Staff really take the time to make sure my nanna's needs are met. Food is really good my nanna eats most of it.

I always find the staff friendly and attentive, the facilities are very clean and tidy. I have seen a big difference in my sister-in-laws appearance and alertness, in other words due to the care and support I see a big difference in a good way in her overall appearance.

Think this home is superb, staff are very attentive and caring. They have good rapport with residents. There is activities every day and celebrations for dates in the calendar. They raise money for residents comfort fund which allows for outside entertainment. Only bugbear is Livingstone only staffed
with two at any shift which I feel is just inadequate.

I visit my aunt on a weekly basis and have always found the environment within the home to be very clean, free from hazards, no vile smells, warm and welcoming.
Staff are very approachable, keep me informed of my aunts health issues and needs and perform their duties to a high standard of professionalism.
There
are very regular activities provided for the residents and the activities are wide ranging and are planned after consulting the residents wishes, professional entertainers are hired to ensure quality entertainment at all times.

Staff are very friendly and always on hand to help my gran. My gran regularly says she likes it here. My gran is always encouraged to eat her food, which is often something that she need as she will say she's not hungry. My grans health always seems to be something which all staff are aware off.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

To share a bit about me, I have 25 years of experience in the health and social care sector, which has provided me with the necessary grounding and knowledge to embark on this new and exciting journey at Lornebank Care Centre. I began my career as a nurse in Mauritius and continued in this role when I moved to the UK in 2005. I have since become a Care Home Manager in 2013, have held an Operational Manager role – overseeing two separate care businesses – and have completed a degree in Management.
Ensuring the consistent provision of the highest quality care and support possible to residents, staff and relatives is my priority, and I very much look forward to the next chapter of my career here at Lornebank Care Centre.

My name is Aimee Ferguson, Home Manager of Lornebank Care Centre. I joined the team here in August 2021 as Deputy Manager and became appointed Home Manager in July 2022. My previous management experience lies within the NHS, where I worked for 7 years.
