Over all time Lornebank Care Centre has 100 reviews.
He has settled now really well. All the staff from Managerial, Carers, Activities, Domestic and Kitchen staff are excellent they interact with all the residents and keep them smiling even when they have an off day. The Activities Co-ordinator is excellent with the residents especially when it is sing-song time and it is lovely to see them singing and dancing enjoying themselves I've joined in myself. My dad has settled in really well (in his eyes he is in hospital for respite) and I can shut my eyes at night and know he is safe.
I recommend the Care Centre.
I am happy with the overall care. The food could be better. More variety to suit the individual residents and their needs. The dealing with Covid 19 has been brilliant. So overall it is very good, although expensive.
My mother entered the care home 14 months ago. She is a resident in the newest unit which opened within the last 2 years. The unit is clean and tidy and the rooms are well furnished with an ensuite. I believe she receives care of a high standard. The staff, on the whole, seem pleasant and attentive and my mother has developed a close relationship with a few. There seem to be a variety of activities organised for the residents. My mother found the food good for the first 6 months but has complained lately. It is not always easy to access the unit by telephone.
I am extremely happy with the care my husband is receiving in Lornebank. In the 18 months that he has been there, he has improved physically and he tries to communicate more. The manager and staff have done an excellent job in keeping residents safe during these difficult times.
The care my mum has received has been great. She is a person, not just a number. The nurses try hard to communicate with family in this, the hardest of times for patients, staff and family. This provided us with reassurance. It is never a bother to call and speak to them.
They try hard to find food she wants and monitored her closely.
I would not hesitate to recommend, it’s clean, modern with very caring staff who go the extra mile for their residents.
The care home is neat and tidy and clean. The staff are very easy to talk to and helpful. Great variety in meals and well prepared. The premises are very well ventilated with great views out to surrounding areas. Televisions are supplied in all bedrooms which is great for the elderly and those who are bedridden.
My sister and extended family are really pleased with the care my mum receives in the home. We had a very worrying time with my mum's health before she moved into the home but my sister and I can both be happy in the knowledge that our mum is safe and happy. The staff are also a great support to my sister and our family.
Staff friendly and polite and very attentive to my mother. Bedroom and en-suites very clean. No smell in corridors. Mum says meals are good.
The journey of our residents starts with the referral and meeting with the family as well as the residents. We are sensitive to the needs of our residents. This is why at Lornebank we have an open door policy to access the manager so that if there were any concerns these are addressed immediately....
Mum was very well cared for by all the staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lornebank Care Home.
Nice welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff giving good personal care.
I and my family have been very impressed with the staff in that they always find time to talk and explain about my mother's health and well being.
At Lornebank the staff are all friendly, caring and very professional in their care. My mother is very well cared for and has built up good relationships with the staff (certain members) of staff especially. The rooms in the home are very clean and comfortable for my mother's needs.
I am more than satisfied with the care and attention my husband receives in the Peacock Dementia unit at Lornebank Care Centre. The carers are very friendly and considerate and overall. The home exudes a homely atmosphere.
I am more than happy with the care and attention that my Mum receives in Lornebank Care Centre. The staff are very attentive to her needs and even considering my Mum's needs, she feels very comfortable and relaxed with them. Any problems that arise with my Mum have always been dealt with almost immediately and within a level of efficiency that could not be excelled anywhere else. If I have any negatives it would be the pettiness of other visitors but that is beyond the control of the staff.
They were also very caring to myself and my three daughters. They were so pleasant and good at what they could do for my husband.
Thank you to all the staff.
My sister was a resident in Lornebank for 6.5 years. The first 4.5 years were satisfactory as she was able to get herself to the toilet etc. and needed minimal care and attention. Owing to the restrictions on the review policy, I am limited to what I can say in my review, suffice to say my sister was given a 28-day notice to leave Lornebank as my expectation to care for her was too high.
Dear Isobel, thank you for your review. We are committed to providing the best standards of care to our residents. Sometimes we need to make difficult decisions based on what we consider to be in the best interests of all residents. On occasion, this means that we conclude that a person's needs can...
I’ve been a volunteer here for around six months and only have great things to say about Lornebank. The staff are extremely kind and attentive to the residents’ needs at all times. The residents have lots of company and are kept busy with various activities, from fun quizzes to their favourite films. The facilities themselves are spotless and of a high quality. Can’t think of a fault and my experience has been brilliant so far.
Meals are cooked on the premises and are extremely good.
All staff members provide a good quality of care.
Relatives can come and go at any time but are requested to try to avoid meal times. My uncle became a resident two weeks ago.
Visited our 97 year old aunt, made to feel very welcome. Staff appear very caring and appear fully aware of patient's needs, likes and dislikes. Very pleasant, homely atmosphere and most important our Aunt appears happy and extremely well cared for. Appear to promote all aspects of daily living. Staff definitely care and very happy in their work.
Lornebank is currently under a refurbishment programme and what they have done so far is looking good. Other areas are tired and will hopefully be upgraded too. There have been several changes in personnel (Management) which is not so good. Sometimes I feel they are maybe understaffed. The staff are friendly but I have felt at times they have gone on the defensive if concerns have been raised. Overall I think the care is satisfactory.

Meet the Team (1)

I recently joined Hudson Healthcare in May 2026, previously having worked across the NHS and private sector, covering roles such as general manager, senior general manager and recently regional director. I qualified as a nurse in 2006 and achieved my degree in nursing at Stirling University. Fifteen years of management experience have allowed me to bring experience that I am sure will benefit resident outcomes and make Lornebank a great home choice for the residents.
I am fortunate to have two grown-up children and four grandsons who live close by to me. I share my home with my partner and Baillie, who is my loveable boy, pet shih tzu.
Swimming and walking are how I enjoy my free time, alongside reading the odd Danielle Steele novel.
