From the very first day, he received the very best attention from all staff, and he ate well, was entertained every day and his personal/medical care was excellent.
I was assured that I could contact Burnfoot at any time of the day or night, and every member of staff knew my husband and could keep me up to date on how he was that particular day. My husband was always interested in sport, and I took his badminton racquets to Burnfoot, and staff and another resident played with him most days and he loved this. In fact, before I could take racquets to Burnfoot, the activities coordinator had purchased a set to see if it was viable to play within the confines of the large day room. Whatever he fancied doing, the staff always tried to accommodate his wishes.
Thank you for the kind response, Helen; it was a pleasure to be part of his care. We always try to accommodate residents hobbies and wishes in the hope that we can make the transition as familiar as possible. The staff at Burnfoot were all very fond of him, and he is sadly missed.

My dad recently became a permanent resident in the home after a 4-week period of respite. On admission to the home, all the staff were very welcoming and were reassuring (as we were not able to actually go in with my dad due to COVID restrictions). Every time I have called to check how my dad has settled I have felt reassured. That has taken a huge amount of stress and pressure off our family. Having now visited Dad 3 times in the home he appears happy and content.
Hi Linda, It's great to hear you and your family are happy with your dad's care. We always do our best to keep families informed and involved. Thank you for taking the time to review Burnfoot House. I shall pass on your kind words to the staff.

Burnfoot Care home has cared for my gran for many years. They provide excellent daily care and she feels safe and comfortable in the environment. All the staff over the years have been really good with her and all take time to speak away to her and ensure her needs are met. The communication between the home and myself is also very good. I am more than happy with the care provided.
Thank you very much for your review. We will pass your kind words onto our staff team at Burnfoot.
I highly recommend Burnfoot Care Home, as I found the staff to be very helpful and caring.

Dad settled in straight away and...
Dad settled in straight away and seemed happy in his surroundings. It was difficult for us, to firstly accept a care home was the place he should be, we always thought he would come home after his stay in hospital. This was made easier by the care staff, who went above and beyond their remit, including using facetime to speak to my Dad and to actually see how happy he was. It is clear the staff know him really well, appreciate his sense of humour, even when he's being cheeky! Staff have organised visits for us in line with guidelines, this is important for us and we love to see him and listen to his stories.
He enjoys activities and has made friends. It is reassuring for us to know my Dad is settled, happy and safe.
Thank you so much for your review and your positive thoughts about Burnfoot. We will pass on your comments to the team. Best wishes.

My name is Tam Keller and it has been a privilege to work here at Burnfoot for the past five years.Three years ago I was promoted to a senior carer and this has allowed me to pass on my knowledge and passion for the job to my peers.
It has always been one of my core beliefs that all service users should be treated with the same dignity and respect that you would expect a family member to be treated with. I also think it is a valuable trait to be available whenever your colleagues need support and empathy whenever they might need you.

Hi my name is Eileen I have worked in Burnfoot House since 2017I started as a care assistant before taking up the full time role as Activity co-ordinator. I have an SVQ in Social Services and Health Care. My favourite part of my job is getting to Know the residents and their families. Getting to know them allows me to plan activities to suit their needs and preferences making them feel welcome and at home. we currently have a Daily monthly and Annual planner of activities which have been planned around the residents needs and wishes. The activities include one to one time, Karaoke, arts and crafts, gardening, bingo indoor bowels, golf, pamper sessions and when able we will enjoy shopping trips and outings again. My family are very important to me and i enjoying spending quality time with my husband and five children.
