Mum was in Springhill Nursing Home for one year, during that time she was treated with respect, love, genuine care and affection. A lovely bedroom excellent food and a full social calendar. I and my family/friends were afforded the same feelings of being welcomed. We tried to be with mum at the end,
but this wasn't possible, however, one of her loving carers sat with her and held her hand. The medical care was also excellent.

The staff in Lavendar area are fab and deserve a medal. All are very attentive and look after mum so well. My sister and I appreciate this so much as mum is hard work sometimes (think only with us). Any way I would recommend Springhill (which I have done) to friends. After viewing other homes we found

My Mum, who suffers from dementia, moved into Springhill last year following a failed placement in another care home and a 13-week stay in a hospital. Although her dementia is getting worse, the improved standard of care she is now receiving means that her levels of distress and agitation are much
reduced. The management and staff at Springhill achieve a rare balance of professionalism and kindness. Staff training and procedures are excellent, but the staff themselves are still allowed to be human and treat residents with affection. Everyone from the manager, to nursing/care staff, entertainment and cleaning staff take the trouble to notice my Mum as an individual. And while Mum isn't always able to participate fully in the available activities, a real effort is made to provide baking, music and visits from children, etc. I've seen another care home which looked fine on paper but didn't deliver in practice, so can appreciate the work that goes into delivering both at Springhill.

My mum has recently spent 2 weeks in Springfield for respite care. She was very anxious prior to this, her fears and anxiety were immediately dealt with on arrival by the reassuring, friendly and empathetic member of staff who greeted us. The room was welcoming and homely with small touches making it
more personal. My mum settled in well and has benefitted from her short stay, this I put down to the excellent food and stimulation of a variety of activities available. My dear mum was a resident from November 2015 until August 2018 when she sadly passed away. Her admission was due to her rapidly progressive vascular dementia which meant she became at significant risk had she remained in her own home. Our family will always be grateful for the loving care given and
the compassion shown by the staff to mum. They kept her safe and had to tolerate some challenging behaviours she was unaware she was demonstrating. Huge thanks to all staff.

This place is not suitable for dementia sufferers who are mobile and in the case of my mother, no action plan to deal with the progression of dementia, who became slightly aggressive and has since been moved to another care home. I think the ongoing plan is for the poor dementia people to sit and do
nothing but wither the days away waiting to die.

My mother's care is essentially very good. There is an ongoing issue with another resident persistently entering my mother's room and removing personal items. This is not being managed appropriately. Aside from this issue, I am happy with the overall care in the nursing home.

My Mum has settled extremely well into the nursing home, even though she has Alzheimer's. The staff are very caring and understand her needs very well, she has put on weight and her mobility has also improved due to the excellent care she is receiving. Can't thank them enough.

I have just returned home after visiting my Mum, she was admitted in mid-February. As I live down south and don't get to see my Mum regularly, I have come home extremely happy knowing she is having excellent care. My mum has been a resident for over five years. Her health has declined during this time. All the staff have been very caring and professional in providing her with a safe and happy place to live. The staff have thoroughly done their best to help my mum with all her needs.

First impression of Springhill was overall a feeling of a very comfortable happy home. Staff were very helpful and informative. Mum is very settled here and her mental health has greatly improved as she has plenty of stimulation by staff and has made friends with other residents. Myself and family are

My wife has been a resident for 5 years and I am still happy to have her cared for in Springhill. The previous owners did not have my confidence but the care staff and others have always compensated for short comings.


This present transitional period is being managed well with minimum disruptions

and with evidence of improvement to come. If all care staff could be brought to the standard of the best in the home then the overall standard would be enhanced greatly.
I have no reason to consider an alternative care setting.
