Fullarton Care Home, situated in the lovely town centre of Irvine, supports older people to lead their best lives with personalised nursing and nursing dementia care.

Fullarton offers many comfortable areas for residents to relax, unwind and socialise. After undergoing a refurbishment in late 2021, the home had many communal areas modernised and decorated to enhance the daily life of every resident.

The catering team at Fullarton understands the nutritional needs of older people and creates delicious meals to ensure a lovely dining experience for all residents and visitors. The home also boasts a wide range of popular dining areas that provide a welcoming space to enjoy meals with fellow residents, or family and friends.

The dedicated and professional care team at Fullarton likes to learn about each resident’s hobbies and interests to design a comprehensive activity programme, supporting those living in the home to enjoy the things they love most. From building relationships with neighbours in local community groups and schools, to arranging sightseeing trips in the local area, at Fullarton, the team encourages residents to take an active role in the Irvine community.

Staff go above and beyond for residents, especially in the current situation with Covid. Communicate regularly with updates on my mother, who has not looked as well for a few years. I would recommend this care home and indeed have mentioned the care (which is fantastic) to many friends and relatives.
Big shout out to all staff, especially the well-being.

My mum was admitted as a resident on 10/02/22. We are extremely happy with her surroundings and level of care. Beautifully maintained and a high level of Covid precautions are in place and also one everyone adhered to. The staff are friendly, helpful and courteous I am so much more relaxed now that
mum is living so well and being so well looked after.

I have found the whole experience extremely helpful and easy to deal with due to the care and understanding of the staff. My stepmother has been in Fullarton since 2015 and her care has been excellent. Fullarton's greatest strength is its staff whose care and commitment have really helped to maintain the quality of life for my stepmother whose mobility is extremely poor. Particularly during lockdown dedicated staff successfully
maintained her will to live when I could not visit.

Both my husband and I were residents here. He died a while ago, and I am still here. This is a lovely place to live with kind, caring staff.
I like my own company, but I always have friends in the home to chat to. The staff are very kind and caring with me.

Dad moved in at the end of February 2019. The reception that day was very welcoming. I'd summarise Fullarton as being a very pleasant place for Dad to live. The staff are friendly and, as a care home, it seems to be run efficiently and well.
Aspects that can be improved are:-
1. Ensuring Dad's daily
requirements are completed. For example, Dad wears compression socks on each leg which need to be put on the mornings and taken off before going to bed. On several occasions when visiting Dad we've noted, and reported to staff, that he was not wearing his stockings.
2. I'm not always convinced that if I make a request to one member of staff about Dad that it gets logged so that other members of staff are aware of the requirement. For example, Dad wears glasses, he has glaucoma and has previously had cataracts surgery. I asked a member of staff to organise his annual eye health test but, a couple of weeks later, when I queried a different member of staff they weren't aware of the request.

A lovely home. I have settled in really well. Staff are very helpful and friendly. There is plenty to do but you can also have time on your own. It’s great we have the community garden now and I like to help with that.

I have found the staff always to be helpful and friendly, the visitor's lounge is excellent with free tea, coffee and biscuits. The building is clean and tidy. One small negative is that there is grass growing in the roof gutters which spoils the building's appearance.

My Mum sadly passed away in February of this year. She was a resident in Fullarton from December 2017. The care Mum received was wonderful and I speak for our whole family. She was treated with dignity and respect by all staff members and was always immaculate. Her room was fresh and clean at all
times. The staff cared for the whole family and we were kept informed at all times about Mum.
It is always a difficult time when a loved one has to leave their home to go into a Care Home but Mum settled, thanks to the loving care of the staff in Fullarton.

This is a great home to live in. We have plenty to keep us busy and with the rabbits and the garden, it is really like a 'home from home'. We now have our own sweet shop, which I help serve in. The staff are lovely. I am happy here.

Staff are always welcoming on arrival at Fullerton Care Home in Irvine.
The rooms are always very clean and my friend is kept clean and tidy.
The staff I have had contact with have been helpful and caring.

My relative was not happy at all at being put into residential care.
The staff have been excellent at helping him to settle. I can say at long last he seems to have accepted the situation. He is a lot happier now thanks to staff taking time to include and encourage him.

My sister and I visited this home along with a number of others in our immediate locality. On entering the large entrance hallway we were immediately struck by the homely ambience of the place. It was more like of a hotel and a breath of spring compared to some of the other homes that we had visited.
The residents' rooms, the showers/bathrooms, the corridors, the public lounge and dining room were all well decorated and well furnished. The staff seemed pleasant, professional and caring. Alas, they had no vacancies at that time.
Happily a week or so later we were contacted to say that a room had become available.
On the day of mum's admission, she was treated like a "royal" guest with a procession of staff coming into her room introducing themselves and explaining their function. All the staff did appear to be kind and caring people.
It is only a few weeks but mum has settled in well and is enjoying the company, entertainment, and nice food all provided by caring staff.

Fullarton has fully lived up to our hopes of being a first class care home for our mother. Every member of staff has been wonderful and make great efforts to ensure Mum is able to socialise to the best of her ability. They are professional, caring and considerate. My brother and I visit regularly and
are always made welcome and have always found staff willing to talk to us about Mum. Fullarton conducts regular reviews involving Mum and either my brother or me. We are very happy with the care she is getting.

As a Registered Nurse, Charlotte has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked at HC-One since 2004, Charlotte closely shares HC-One’s vision is aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Charlotte remarked:


“Being able to ensure that Residents receive the very best care”


Charlotte has also achieved much outside of work, she raised £2500 for Scottish Autism, running the Great North Run for her son Noah.
Outside of work Charlotte enjoys travelling, especially on her Florida holidays with her partner and 3 children.
