My mother-in-law, who is now 100, has had full care with friendly staff who keep the family up to date with all that is happening. They have patience when needed and carry out all of their duties to a high standard. When visiting, always have time for us too with updates as to how she is doing.

My mother-in-law had a fall and lay on the floor for eight house waiting for an ambulance. During these hours, she had at least one carer at her side keeping her calm and immobile. The dedication that day for her was second to none.

My mum has been a resident at Fullarton Care Home since March 2023. We were both very anxious about her moving into a care home but every member of staff has made my mum and me feel very welcome and helped her settle in quickly.
I visited several care homes before we settled on Fullarton as we were impressed with the facilities and the overall feeling of the home where it is clean, bright and has a friendly and calm atmosphere whenever I visit.
The staff are exceptional throughout Fullarton, showing a high level of professionalism and care for every resident and their families while being friendly and kind. My mum loves the activities which are planned and prepared throughout the week from the entertainers visiting to gardening and going for trips in the minibus (apparently the banter is great and they bring cake)!

We were visiting relatives today where my mum was full of praise for her new home, the staff and the food.

My mum is in Fullerton Care Home. The staff are all exceptional and care for the patients with such kindness. It's kept spotless and the facilities are great. My family visit with young children and they get to use a small sitting room.

My husband came to Fullarton on 24th July 2022. He has quite advanced dementia. I was exceptionally nervous and distressed at the thought of him going into care. He has been welcomed into his new home by all the staff team and seems to be setting down well. I feel a great sense of relief because he is now in a safe place. I am so grateful to all the staff team for the outstanding support they consistently give to my husband. Everyone I have come into contact with has been very kind but also professional. They inspire confidence.

Staff go above and beyond for residents, especially in the current situation with Covid. Communicate regularly with updates on my mother, who has not looked as well for a few years. I would recommend this care home and indeed have mentioned the care (which is fantastic) to many friends and relatives. Big shout out to all staff, especially the well-being.

I have found the whole experience extremely helpful and easy to deal with due to the care and understanding of the staff. The transition from living alone and lonely for my father has been a great comfort for all the family. As a family, we are more than happy with all the care provided and feel very confident the right decision to put my father in the hands of the professionals. We thank them for their help.

My stepmother has been in Fullarton since 2015 and her care has been excellent. Fullarton's greatest strength is its staff whose care and commitment have really helped to maintain the quality of life for my stepmother whose mobility is extremely poor. Particularly during lockdown dedicated staff successfully maintained her will to live when I could not visit.

Both my husband and I were residents here. He died a while ago, and I am still here. This is a lovely place to live with kind, caring staff.
I like my own company, but I always have friends in the home to chat to. The staff are very kind and caring with me.

They looked after my husband well until he passed away.

Dad moved in at the end of February 2019. The reception that day was very welcoming. I'd summarise Fullarton as being a very pleasant place for Dad to live. The staff are friendly and, as a care home, it seems to be run efficiently and well.
Aspects that can be improved are:-
1. Ensuring Dad's daily requirements are completed. For example, Dad wears compression socks on each leg which need to be put on the mornings and taken off before going to bed. On several occasions when visiting Dad we've noted, and reported to staff, that he was not wearing his stockings.

2. I'm not always convinced that if I make a request to one member of staff about Dad that it gets logged so that other members of staff are aware of the requirement. For example, Dad wears glasses, he has glaucoma and has previously had cataracts surgery. I asked a member of staff to organise his annual eye health test but, a couple of weeks later, when I queried a different member of staff they weren't aware of the request.

A lovely home. I have settled in really well. Staff are very helpful and friendly. There is plenty to do but you can also have time on your own. It’s great we have the community garden now and I like to help with that.

I have found the staff always to be helpful and friendly, the visitor's lounge is excellent with free tea, coffee and biscuits. The building is clean and tidy. One small negative is that there is grass growing in the roof gutters which spoils the building's appearance.

Reply from Clare Sheehan, at Fullarton Care Home

Thank you for your response and please be assured that the issue with grass in the gutters has been reported to our property team who have addressed this. As I am sure you are aware this can be an ongoing issue and will be monitored by the Manager and appropriate action taken when necessary.
