Sitting on the Prestwick Promenade, overlooking the beach, Queens is in a stunning location. The team provide residential, nursing, dementia and palliative care, as well as respite care breaks, which are ideal for family carers, who would like to plan a short break themselves.

The home is thriving with so much to do, from live music, therapy dog visits and cocktail making, to walks along the beach and pamper sessions, with manicures and hand massages.

The local community is embraced into life at Queens, with visits from musicians, singers and local school children. The residents enjoy rickshaw rides with Cycling Without Age Prestwick, and visits from members of the over 60s club.

The team organise so many trips out, keeping those community connections alive – from dances and panto performances to shopping. And there are visits to Sanctuary Care’s nearby home in Ayr, to enjoy their memory café and spend time with the residents.

Mealtimes are a real highlight of the day, with the home’s talented chef crowned Best Performing Chef for the entire region at Sanctuary Care’s annual Chefs’ Conference (2023). Residents enjoy delicious, home cooked meals, and freshly baked cakes for afternoon tea.

Inside the home there are welcoming lounges, including the Arran Lounge, with bay windows overlooking the seafront. Many of the bedrooms, as well as the front garden overlook the beach, with residents often sitting and watching the sunset.

The sun terrace is also a lovely place to relax with loved ones, who are welcome at any time. The home also has a private family and friends Facebook group, so relatives can see what the residents have been enjoying doing, even if they can’t be there in person.

Our weekly room fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly room fees start from £1580, but may be more. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

My sister deals with all relevant matters regarding my mother's stay in the home. I can only state my satisfaction at the standard of care being given to my mother since she was admitted in Dec 2016.

My mum has lived in Embrace for 5 and a half years. She is always treated with dignity and respect. She has good relationships with care staff and can let them know of any issues. There have been a lot of staff changes, however, this has not affected the standard of care she receives. The home has undergone
some decoration and new furniture, making and a lovely place for residents and every week there are activities which you can get involved in if you wish.

The first thing you notice is that it doesn't smell like an old person's care home - it is super clean. The atmosphere is calm and homely, yet bright and cheerful. Most importantly, all the staff are caring and kind, cheerful and patient. The home is managed thoughtfully and sensibly, with an eye on
improvement. Lots of activities, events and outings are increasingly put in place, which is obviously enjoyed and appreciated by the residents and is good stimulation for people like my Mum who has Alzheimer's. The home has been excellent at keeping in touch about Mum's health. I feel happy, relaxed, to leave Mum in their capable care. She likes the staff, enjoys the company and she would want me to add that the food is great!

My mother is treated as an individual, she is treated with humour, kindness and respect. Her wishes are taken into consideration in many ways. That she likes her coffee made from her own nespesso machine, that she needs assistance to clean her teeth with her electric toothbrush, that her perfume is
an addition to her routine. She has been enabled to paint again after a long time of not feeling she could express herself. All the staff are friendly and appreciate her for the gracious lady she has always been.

My mother was in the Queen's for about seven years was ok with the care she was getting at first then it started to decline as the years went on. Some of the staff are very good with the residents and there are others that don't put much into the level of care that should be given, so due to this I
have moved my mother to another care home and would not recommend this home to anyone

disabilities, neurodivergence, acute mental health conditions and cognitive

I am passionate about giving all our residents the best quality of life they can have in our home and ensuring they are all treated with respect and dignity, delivering truly person-centred care, ensuring every individual receives support tailored to their unique needs.
