Lunan Court Care Home

I have visited regularly two close friends over the last five years and have found the care at Lunan Court to be of a very high standard. The care home is kept to a very good standard of decor, cleanliness and comfort for the residents. The staff are courteous, kind and caring, making visits always a positive and welcoming experience.

The staff are absolute gems. My husband's eyes brighten up when they come in to see him. They have the patience of a saint. Everyone makes you so welcome.

Mum was admitted to Lunan Court just a week before Christmas 2020 and only one year into the pandemic, in the early stages of vascular dementia. From day one mum was treated with dignity and respect during some very difficult times when lockdown and restricted visiting was at a high. The staff were always accommodating and warm, wouldn't have asked for better care. Even more so in mum's last few days where compassion and sensitivity were shown throughout. This gave comfort and I can't express my thanks enough to all the staff involved with mum during her stay.

My mother in law sadly declined in health over a short period of time. At end of life her care from staff at Lunan Court was second to none. I witnessed at first hand the gentleness of moving and handling, speaking to her at every step making sure she was comfortable. From management to carers - domestic to front office everyone had a kind word to say about my mother in law. That means a lot. Thank you to everyone.

During COVID crisis Lunan Court staff have gone above and beyond to make sure all regulations were adhered to. Results show there has been very little infection at the home. Now that we are able to visit more freely precautions are still in place. All staff have been under a terrible strain but everyone I have had contact with have been so caring and determined to keep standards high. Somehow we all manage to have a laugh with my mother-in-law to keep spirits up.

Due to COVID it's hard to judge but under the circumstances, staff have worked hard at making sure visiting goes to plan and are very friendly and welcoming. Also, put lots of photos with activities carried out. Overall as far as I can see, doing a great job.

My husband went into a care home to give me a rest and to see how it went. It has now been nearly 6 months where I have been trying to get him home which is what he wants and I am power of attorney. I spoke to the doctor who is attending him, he said it's up to the social worker to arrange. I have looked after my husband for 13 years with dementia. I would even like him for the weekend to see how he would manage. I hope you can sort this problem out, only once I have had him out. I have never seen the rooms or the place since my husband was taken in.

I have recently started indoor visits again to see my Dad. The recent situation of COVID-19 guidelines have limited face to face contact however Lunan Court staff have found other ways of communication and have always assured me I am up to date with my Dad's care and welfare. Well done to all the staff at Lunan Court Care Home.

I have found the staff to be very helpful and open when asking questions. They seem to be very caring, both to the residents and visitors, and have patience when dealing with both. The premises are kept scrupulously clean and I consider my husband to be well cared for. It is run in a professional, but caring way.

My father recently passed away and the staff were very professional and kept us updated during this time. We were allowed in to visit him which meant a lot as hasn't been in the home since March. Staff popping into his room regularly to check on him, ask if we needed cup of coffee etc.

My father was in this care home for 5years and I can honestly say that he loved it. Whenever I visit him it was a pleasant experience for myself. The staff at Lunan Court are lovely and always there to help. My father passed away at the start of December and the home couldn’t have helped myself and sister anymore over the distress of losing a loved one, I cannot thank them enough. I would recommend this home very highly.

I could not get a better care home than this for my parents. Staff and colleagues are so friendly, patient and very helpful. Caring for our loved ones is no trouble. They go above and beyond, even asking how I am doing all the time, so considerate for all.

It was lovely to see my mum looking happy and well turned out. The carers were happy as always and very helpful. It was a great visit.

I found this place very clean and homely. Everyone was clean and well dressed.

My Great Uncle has been prompted to enjoy the good weather and sunshine, attributing to his elevated mood. The staff work so hard and nothing is ever a bother. Very grateful.

The staff are very helpful, the room is clean and tidy. The food is good and there is always something going on, concerts, visiting pets etc. Or journeys out of the home. Open days, fetes etc.

During his end of life care, it was clear to see that they were doing all they could to make him comfortable and treated him with dignity at all times, while also updating us on any changes. I was continuously impressed with Lunan Court and would highly recommend it.

Staff provided a lovely afternoon at their open day for the residents and their families. Staff are very attentive to the residents and always try to keep them comfortable.
