Our mum settled in quickly to Bramblewood in Nov. 23. Both my sister and I are more than happy with the level of care mum receives. We find the staff are always pleasant and make time to speak with us whenever we visit.

Overall Experience

My Mum became a resident of Bramblewood from January 2025 until she passed in June 2025

Despite enormous reluctance on my mother's part to go into a care home, quite literally from day 1 my mother found the home a positive experience, as did myself and the rest of my family who visited. It brought my Mum much comfort and reassurance in her final months to be somewhere so caring, and again, the family and I felt the same.

There isn't an element of the care my mum received at Bramblewood that I can fault. The staff are all fantastic, the facilities are up to the job, it is clean and well looked after and overall, there is a big focus on ensuring that residents can enjoy their lives in whatever capacity that might be, considering care needs.

I really can't say a bad word about Bramblewood and we'd be in a utopia of a world if all care and medical facilities were up to this standard. I hope this standard of excellence is maintained

Bramblewood Care Home is an excellent care home, the staff are very attentive and kind. I regard them as almost an extension of family. The home is well laid out and well-maintained and is kept clean. If there was a suggestion then I think they could update furniture and fixings.

My wife, who has Alzheimer's. went into the home at the beginning of January 2024.
The care staff and nurses are generally very good and helpful. A small number of them might be a little more friendly towards relatives who call to visit their loved ones.
Some things in the past have annoyed me. For example, my wife's glasses and denture went missing and never were found.

A new manager started a couple of months ago and is very helpful, friendly and approachable.

Reply from Eldho Joy, Support Manager at Bramblewood Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I note that missing glasses and dentures are not located, we are sorry this happened. We are grateful for your kind words about our home manager and staff. We will continue to maintain and improve our standards where possible.

From the time my dear dad has been in Bramblewood Care Home I can honestly say he has always been treated with tender loving care and have no complaints whatsoever. All the staff always find a kind word not only to say to my dad, but to myself as well as always ready to listen when I have concerns about his health. He was in palliative care for 5 days last year in Bramblewood as we didn't want him to be in hospital, he got the highest level of care that you could imagine, as did all the family.

My mother came in February 2022, after a major stroke. The care has been exceptional. My mother is always washed and her hair blow-dried by staff. The staff, two in particular and all the girls are fantastic at their job. One other staff member makes sure the inpatients have activities to do and special days when family can attend. The rooms are kept clean and bedding is changed regularly. The nurses are always ready to answer any question.

My mum has been a resident at Bramblewood Care Home for two years. She transferred to Bramblewood following a sudden deterioration in her health. I appreciated how the staff and management listened to me and helped get her back out of bed and enjoying socialising (as best she can) with the other residents. The love and care from the staff made this possible at a very difficult time due to Covid. The staff are attentive and kind to the residents. A lot of effort goes into celebrating all occasions and the inclusion of both families and the residents. I am very happy and content leaving the care of my mum with the management and staff of Bramblewood, I am very grateful. Thank you.

Carol, we all loved your mum like she was one of our own. She was so lovely. Her wee voice and her little quirks were adorable.
I am glad we cared for you well too and all the staff will appreciate the fact they have been able to do a good job.
Thank you,

Clair.

My aunt, for whom I am next of kin, is presently 97 years old and has been in Bramblewood since January 2020. She has severe dementia and requires constant care. We have always been very content with all aspects of her care. The staff know her well and are very caring towards her. She is always clean, neat and appropriately dressed. We find the staff friendly and helpful and are kept well informed at all times. We have no hesitation in recommending Bramblewood to any family.

Thank you, Eric, for your lovely comments, much appreciated by all of us here. Hard to believe it has been 3 years since your aunt was admitted and as you say staff have got to know her and you well. I am glad her care is to your expectations and also that your experience and care for yourself has been good. Regards.

My mum moved into the care home in November 2021. I found the home’s standard of care for my mum and the visiting family, to be excellent. My mum was always treated with respect and dignity. Whilst no one wants to move their loved ones into a home, Mum was very happy there and asked me frequently ‘how did you find this place?’ She liked the meals served (a choice was provided) and put weight on whilst she was there having regular and home-cooked meals. Knowing that my mum felt safe, was well looked after, gave me and my family great reassurance. I’d fully recommend this care home.

My mum moved into Bramblewood in October 2021 from another excellent care home because she needs nursing care. I was very worried about her making such a big change, but need not have been. The staff are exceptionally kind and dedicated. They pride themselves on being like a big family and have given my mum (and me) a very warm welcome. I've seen firsthand the kindness, warmth and affection shown to the residents and feel confident that my mum is truly well cared for.

My father moved to Bramblewood from another nursing home at the beginning of 2021. Unfortunately, my father was only with Bramblewood for a short time, as he passed away, so I did not have the pleasure of getting to know all the staff a lot better. However, from my initial point of contact with the manager, it was evident that the staff treated their residents with kindness and respect in a friendly, happy, homely environment. I would like to pay particular thanks to the deputy manager and the nurse who were a great support to me at the end of his life. They showed such care and sympathy and I will never forget this.

Thank you to all the staff - you all are a professional, dedicated and caring team.
