Situated on the outskirts of Bangor town centre, Bramblewood Care Home is a care home that offers professional nursing care.

It adopts a person-centred approach to all aspects of care taking into account each resident's unique qualities, abilities, interests, preferences and needs in a dignified and respectful manner.

Bramblewood offers care facilities whilst maintaining a homely environment. The home has a range of comfortable, tastefully decorated and well-equipped bedrooms which residents are encouraged to personalise.

Chefs pride themselves in knowing the tastes of residents and preparing a choice of fresh, nutritional meals catering for any dietary and cultural needs.

Staff believe that social interaction between residents and staff provides great mental stimulus to residents which can be far removed from those who live in isolation with only fleeting visits from carers.

Family and friends are encouraged to visit loved ones and to attend any events that are held.

Facilities include: hairdressing and beauty therapy, interdenominational church services and access to all medical professionals (podiatry, optician, dietician, dentist and therapists.)

I have found all the staff extremely helpful and caring. They are very accommodating when I visit and are always on hand to answer any questions I may have. Only negative is there is no call button in the day room and it is difficult to get attention when wanting to go to the toilet.

My granny was at this lovely care home and when I visited from Canada I could not get over how well she was treated along with all my aunts who visited every day. The staff treated Granny like she was a member of their family and with all the love and dignity she deserved.


Since our time at the care

home, I have and will continue to recommend this facility to any and all my friends and family in Northern Ireland. I know anyone who needs to place a family member in a care home could not ask for any better place to care for them than Bramblewood.

You are never prepared for that moment when a loved one needs to go into care. This is how we felt as a family, that no one could look after our loved one like we did. We were wrong. Each and every person from managers, carers, cooks, domestics male or female gave my granny all the care, respect, love
and attention she needed and deserved. This care and understanding was also shown to my extended family from here and in Canada at all times. Staff were so caring that a tree was planted and a bench placed at Bramblewood in memory of my wee granny. We as a family frequently attend any fundraising, open days and keep in touch with all the friendly staff. Staff went beyond the care of duty being a friend to all in the last years of my granny's long life. I would highly recommend BRAMBLEWOOD as the perfect care home for your loved one. Shall be putting my name down ... hopefully not for a while yet, though!

The staff at Bramblewood are excellent and treat the residents as they would treat their own family. Due to the kindness of the staff, I would have no hesitation in recommending Bramblewood to anyone in the need of a good care home.

Mummy is a resident of Bramblewood. I find the staff extremely lovely and I am happy with all aspects of mummy's care. Bramblewood have plenty of activities and mum is happy with the food and I often tell her I should come to Bramblewood for my dinner.

Since mum's arrival at Bramblewood, she has been shown so much affection and care by all the staff. They see to her needs quickly and without fuss, giving her complete dignity at all time.
They relate to her well and engage with her affectionately. She feels a part of things and valued. As a family,

Having dealt with a number of care homes and my experiences thereof together with my age and professionalism I can confidently recommend Bramblewood as one of the best, although facilities are now outdated.

The management and staff listen with understanding "on those days" from time to time when I would be anxious about our "loved one" (resident) and I leave feeling better for the words of reassurance. Bramblewood Care Home is large, bright and uplifting. In the large lounge I'm very happy to greet all

My mother has been a resident in the home for ten months. The care delivered by all the staff is second to none. Care, Laundry and domestic staff have developed a close relationship with my mother and she feels very much part of a family network. Nursing care is excellent and I am always kept up to
date with any changes in my mother's health. My mother has complex dietary needs and requires a modified diet. Over the past ten months she has put on weight (much needed) and is delighted with the food provided. As a family we believe the home to be the best in County Down.
