Overall am pleased with Mum's care. We do all washing, but sometimes nighties and socks disappear and don't reappear. Some staff have poor English, and it's hard to explain particular needs, as with a lot of care homes, some have great staff and a few who can be less enthusiastic.
Reply from Eldho Joy, Regional Support Manager at Bryansburn Care HomeThank you for your feedback. Were pleased to hear that overall youre happy with your mums care and appreciate your kind comments about our team. Were sorry to hear about the occasional missing clothing items and understand how frustrating this can be. Well remind staff to be extra mindful of residents belongings, however we strongly advice all families to put laundry labels on all clothing items. We also recognise the importance of clear communication and continue to support all staff with training to ensure residents individual needs are well understood. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.

My sister in law has been a resident here since February 2025 with Lewy Body Dementia. Absolutely WONDERFUL place. They treat her like family. We live in Wales and visit about once a Month but they keep us updated when we are not there. She is always smiling and since being with them she now walks with
an aid, taken up knitting again and enjoys all the Activities. The rooms are bright and airy. We have complete peace of mind knowing how well they care for her.
Reply from Gavin Kelly, Director at Bryansburn Care HomeThank you very much for taking the time to leave us this lovely review! It is wonderful to know that your sister-in-law has settled in so well to Bryansburn and is in particular enjoying our activities. We will do our very best to maintain these standards!

My mother has been in Bryansburn for 5 months now. This has been a difficult time for our family, but the support and care provided by the staff and management has helped with this transition. All staff are friendly, cheerful + helpful. My mother is always clean and well dressed. Her room is well maintained.

My brother was admitted to Bryansburn in February 2025 and the manager and staff quickly settled him and helped his wife and me to understand how we could be support each other. At all times we have felt content that he was safe and well cared for in his needy circumstances.

Throughout my nanny's time here, the staff were kind, attentive and thoughtful towards both her and our family. On special occasions, we were given tea and treats and a room was set aside and decorated for us. The staff were always welcoming and always went the extra mile, right up until her final days.
She was very content there and enjoyed all of the activities they had to offer. We will be endlessly grateful for the care and support given to us from all of the staff at Bryansburn Care Home.

My mother suffered a stroke as well as being diagnosed with dementia. Such was her conditions, it was impossible to care for her at home and maintain her dignity. The first care home my mother was placed in did not take into account of her bespoke needs so the transfer to Bryansburn Care Home has been
a breath of fresh air. They look after my mum's needs without question and treat her almost like family. This is witnessed by us, as a family, and evidenced by my mother bursting into a smile every time a member of staff enters her room. We couldn't wish for our mother to be cared for in a better place.

We have been using Bryansburn Care Home for about a year now. From the beginning, I liked the venue, it was welcoming, clean and friendly. I liked the introduction we received from the manager at the start, this welcome has continued to this day. My wife, in my experience, is well looked after by the
staff, I find them all very helpful in relation to both her and my needs. Everyone uses my wife's name when they see her and this helps her to relax when she comes in. She enjoys the food there and I feel safe leaving her there. No more space but I like Bryansburn Home, the staff and the experience there.

My father has been in this home since July 2024. The home is willing to listen and respond to any concerns or problems. Staff are friendly and there is always someone around when you need them. The home is clean. Residents are well-fed. There is good communication from the home to all services and a
willingness to work with other professionals and adapt if necessary.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.597)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.597) out of 10 for Bryansburn Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.697 for Bryansburn Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (143 Excellents x 5) + (28 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 185 Ratings = 4.697
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bryansburn Care Home is based on 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7, which has been reached with 16 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
