My mother has been very well cared for at Stanley Wilson's. She has only been here three weeks. The third floor is a bit bare of Christmas decorations and cheer, but she is very well looked after. Her room is comfortable and clean.

Stanley Wilson house is a great environment for my mother.
Yez in particular has been a great help and support and also to my Mother.
All of the Staff are caring and kind and take time to explain what is going on with my Mother and her current status.

Having cared for my husband at home for two and a half years, I was anxious about finding a care home where he would be treated as an individual by a team of warm, caring and highly skilled staff. I needn't have worried.
My instinct that this was an extremely well run care home was soon borne out. It
became clear that administrative, care, nursing and "behind the scene" staff had worked successfully together for a long while.
My husband sees familiar faces every day and, should anyone be absent, that place is filled by someone from Stanley Wilson's own staff bank.
I feel we have a real rapport with staff and sense of working together for my husband's health and wellbeing.
Friends and family who have visited always report how they were welcomed in reception and by care and nursing staff.
When my visit is over, I always leave feeling relaxed and with a smile on my face knowing my husband is receiving the best of care.

The Care Home has been amazing, following a fall that left my uncle unable to continue living independently. It has proven to be a home away from home. Providing excellent care while adapting to his changing needs. It has allowed the family to feel welcome with a warm environment when visiting. It is
spotlessly clean, has a bright friendly reception, and a relaxing garden for one to one time. I have every confidence the nursing care he is receiving is of the highest standard. All the staff are friendly and approachable while continuing to be professional. I am very grateful to have found it, and would not hesitate to recommend it.

I am extremely happy with the care given to my relative. The carers are very attentive and are always cheerful, polite and helpful. The home is kept clean and all staff work together to provide a first class service. The meals are very good and there are always options to choose from. I would definitely
recommend Stanley Wilson Lodge to anyone who is looking for a care home for their loved one. Also the activities program each week has something for everyone.

From the moment we first visited we have experienced nothing but kindness, care and friendly attention and support.
Any concerns are quickly and efficiently dealt with by staff who are professional but very approachable.
Ideally we would like to see a quieter communal lounge, or at least more seating
for those not wanting to watch TV.
Reply from Susan Clayden, Manager at Stanley Wilson Lodgethank yo for your positive comments which I will share with the team on Reynolds.Thre are quieter areas of the Home that you are welcome to use either in reception of there is a small room on the ground floor also which we can show you.

I have been here 12 days. I received an enthusiastic friendly welcoming which has continued. Everyone is so kind and helpful. Several staff I already know and one is related to my family. My visitors to much appreciate the welcome. I appreciated the pre Christmas carol singing and participated in game
and was allowed to spend time with my neighbor and look forward to attending other social activities. I was able to present Stanley Wilson Lodge with an album of photographs I prepared in 2010 of the demolishing of the 1962-2008 building and the building of the present one. I've lived close by since 1972 and visited the lodge many times.

Since my father moved into Stanley Wilson Lodge, I have been delighted with the high standard of care and compassion he has received. This has enabled him to settle in very quickly and adapt to his new surroundings. He very much enjoys the company of other residents and is a regular at their activities.
Overall, the whole family are so pleased we have taken this step and know he will be safe and well looked after 24 hours a day.

Family member has recently moved from the residential to the dementia floor as his dementia has increased and, once again, I am so impressed with the care taken by the new team to get to know him, reassure and settle him in his new room (which he loves), and move all his pictures, etc., with minimum
delay so that he had his familiar things around him right from the start. As is common, the dementia, and its frustrations for the sufferer, has brought its own challenges with some uncharacteristic behaviour developing but the team are tireless in their efforts to find solutions and to maximise all that he is able to do. Dementia or not, he absolutely understands this, and says frequently how lucky he is to be there and how lovely all the staff are. And he's right on both counts!

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.876)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.876) out of 10 for Stanley Wilson Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.901 for Stanley Wilson Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (200 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 222 Ratings = 4.901
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stanley Wilson Lodge is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 75 registered maximum number of service users is 15, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
