Visiting my dad last Thursday, 2nd February, the residents were enjoying musical bingo. They all had a very good experience, and the staff were brilliant. Very impressed.

Whenever I visited my aunt (a resident in Stanley Wilson Lodge) over the last four years, I was always made to feel like one of the greater family. The carers and administrative staff knew me, and I knew them. I'll miss them all. I was particularly moved by the fact that three of them came to her funeral
on their day off. Stanley Wilson Lodge is a truly homely and welcoming setting where my aunt's needs and desires were catered for. It is a home I would be happy to live in myself if ever the need arose.

I have only good feedback regarding the home. The carers are always approachable and are happy to answer any questions we may have. On occasions, my mother can be very difficult (she has dementia), but nothing is too much trouble when it comes to her care. Meals are very good, and additional requirements
are happily accepted and dealt with. Not forgetting the laundry staff, who are equally helpful, and along with the other staff work very hard.

Having been a carer for one person suffering from dementia for so long and all the stresses and strains in that role, I looked forward with interest to seeing how a whole group of people with different degrees and kinds of dementia would be managed.
I think they have found the right formula at Stanley
Wilson Lodge for coping with them all, and I am impressed.
My wife has settled in well with the care and attention she has been given. She has started to mix with other residents, which came as surprise, and her natural anxiety has dissipated. She is very enthusiastic about the food, which is great since she was once a very good cook.
The staff are cheerful, friendly and efficient, and very patient. There is no cajolery, just gentle guidance when needed.
There is a nice air of calm and efficiency.
I am happy that my wife is in such good hands.

I have found the staff helpful, friendly and kind. My husband hasn't been there very long and is gradually settling in. Having been to another first, Stanley Wilson Lodge is by far nicer.

Stanley Wilson Lodge is a purpose-built facility. It is clean, bright, friendly, with good facilities and pleasant staff. However, it is clear that on the nursing floor, there isn't enough staff, and unfortunately, are mostly agency workers and not permanent, so don't build a rapport with residents.
I have spoken with staff and management about issues and nothing has been done to resolve them.

My mother became a resident after Christmas 2021. On arrival, staff were amazing not only taking excellent care of Mum but also us. All staff are welcoming, and Mum is relaxed and happy whenever we visit. Residents always look cared for. Mum is so relaxed, putting on weight, which always gives us peace
of mind, and she is safe.

I cannot rate Stanley Wilson Lodge highly enough. My mother-in-law has been a resident since December 2021 and is very happy there, thanks to the excellent care provided by every member of staff, without exception. My mother-in-law cannot fault the care provided, and all interaction that our family
has with the staff is extremely friendly, highly professional and always very helpful. This is a fantastic care home, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Thank you so much!

The staff are very helpful and attentive. I found the home to be very clean, and bright and residents are encouraged to socialise. The food, I am told on good authority, is very good and varied. The resident's rooms are clean and airy.

The staff and surroundings are without a doubt impressive. They are so committed and go above and beyond. The current difficulty getting medical help in some situations was sadness and frustration for staff and family. It's a great shame external outings are curtailed due to staff shortage. Daily fresh

Our aunt has been a resident since June 2021. We have found all staff, reception, carers, nurses, admin staff, domestic staff to be friendly, professional and they always have time to chat or for a more serious conversation if required.
Our aunt always looks clean and tidy. It took some time for her
to settle in, but the patience and love of all encouraged her to settle and, when she could, join in with activities.
It is always a pleasure to visit the home. It is apparent that the residents are the number one priority.
I would not hesitate to recommend Stanley Wilson Lodge.

With Covid, it makes things harder for Mum to have visitors, which is really what she likes. Mum has first-class carers, and they do everything they can for their residents. I can't compare with other care homes as I haven't seen any others.

My mother lived in the nursing care section for two and a half months after breaking her leg in a fall and becoming bed-bound. The staff were understanding of her needs and treated her with care and respect. A hoist was used to move her from bed to a wheelchair and to an armchair by careful and expert
staff. Several members of staff were especially friendly with her and bought a smile to her face and made her last days as happy as possible. She died of old age and frailty and was well cared for until the end.

Stanley Wilson Lodge is a wonderful home for my dad in the last two years as the outstanding manager and her teams are very compassionate, caring and doing their best to provide a fantastic level of care to the residents. Special thanks also to the second floor care team and the male lead nurse for
doing an awesome job in caring for and supporting my dad through difficult times. Recently, my mum has just joined this care home too and she is cared for very well and is enjoying her stay there. Many thanks to Stanley Wilson Lodge for their amazing work.

Job Title: Care Manager

Shilpa is a Registered Nurse, a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and The Royal College of Nursing. Shilpa holds a Bachelor Degree in Nursing Science and a Diploma in Mentoring.
Shilpa joined Stanley Wilson Lodge as an RGN in October 2011 and has been an eminent part of the Nursing Team since then. Shilpa has worked in the Health and Social Care sector for over 10 years. Her experience covers Emergency Nursing, Critical Care (ITU) Nursing and Elderly Frail Nursing. Shilpa is a very experienced nurse and has in depth clinical knowledge and skills.
Shilpa is Sue Clayden’s deputy and in charge of the home when the Home Manager is not present.
