From the moment we first visited we have experienced nothing but kindness, care and friendly attention and support.
Any concerns are quickly and efficiently dealt with by staff who are professional but very approachable.

Ideally we would like to see a quieter communal lounge, or at least more seating for those not wanting to watch TV.

Reply from Susan Clayden, Manager at Excelcare Stanley Wilson Lodge

thank yo for your positive comments which I will share with the team on Reynolds.Thre are quieter areas of the Home that you are welcome to use either in reception of there is a small room on the ground floor also which we can show you.

I have been here 12 days. I received an enthusiastic friendly welcoming which has continued. Everyone is so kind and helpful. Several staff I already know and one is related to my family. My visitors to much appreciate the welcome. I appreciated the pre Christmas carol singing and participated in game and was allowed to spend time with my neighbor and look forward to attending other social activities. I was able to present Stanley Wilson Lodge with an album of photographs I prepared in 2010 of the demolishing of the 1962-2008 building and the building of the present one. I've lived close by since 1972 and visited the lodge many times.

Since my father moved into Stanley Wilson Lodge, I have been delighted with the high standard of care and compassion he has received. This has enabled him to settle in very quickly and adapt to his new surroundings. He very much enjoys the company of other residents and is a regular at their activities. Overall, the whole family are so pleased we have taken this step and know he will be safe and well looked after 24 hours a day.

My Mum was very poorly in hospital and was worried about going into a care home. She didn't need to be, Stanley Wilson Lodge have been amazing.
She is very happy and is very looked after. The staff are amazing.
She is now eating well and her general and mental health has improved drastically.
I can't thank the staff enough.

She loves it in her room and said she wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Stanley Wilson Lodge could be used as an example of how care homes should be. From the initial outlook of the reception with its friendly staff to the communal rooms and dining areas serviced by friendly dedicated staff. Individual care and accommodation are excellent with a varied programme and entertainment. It is highly recommended.

Family member has recently moved from the residential to the dementia floor as his dementia has increased and, once again, I am so impressed with the care taken by the new team to get to know him, reassure and settle him in his new room (which he loves), and move all his pictures, etc., with minimum delay so that he had his familiar things around him right from the start. As is common, the dementia, and its frustrations for the sufferer, has brought its own challenges with some uncharacteristic behaviour developing but the team are tireless in their efforts to find solutions and to maximise all that he is able to do. Dementia or not, he absolutely understands this, and says frequently how lucky he is to be there and how lovely all the staff are. And he's right on both counts!

You could not wish for a better facility than Stanley Wilson Lodge. Reception, en-suite rooms, dining rooms, and day lounges are excellent. Only surpassed by the caring and dutiful actions of all the staff for the day and night care. Social meal times and entertainment activities create a full and active day for residents if they wish to take part. Eleven out of ten for Stanley Wilson Lodge.

I write on behalf of myself and my siblings to express our deep appreciation of the love and care our mum has received since July 2022 at Stanley Wilson Lodge by all the staff and carers.

It is a wonderful care home with dedicated staff such as the Team Leader, who spotted Mum's sepsis and has been very vigilant when Mum's health has deteriorated leading to specialist care at Addenbrookes. We are deeply grateful so thank you.

I am extremely grateful my dad is now in your care, as with his dementia it was not possible to stay at home and having carers in three times a day was still not enough. It has taken a lot of worry away from me as I'm not in the best of health.

My mother has been a resident at Stanley Wilson Lodge for over 2 years now and due to her stroke requires nursing care.
I can honestly say that from day one all of the staff have been magnificent. They genuinely care and their dedication, kindness, support and communication have been fantastic.

The location of the home is also perfect and we regularly take Mum into town via her wheelchair. Thank you. We appreciate each and every one of you all!

The dedication and devotion of the nursing home staff have made all the difference and eased my worries and concerns about my mother's welfare. I am truly grateful to them for their kindness, understanding, and professionalism and for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that promotes residents' independence, dignity, and quality of life. Whenever I visited my aunt (a resident in Stanley Wilson Lodge) over the last four years, I was always made to feel like one of the greater family. The carers and administrative staff knew me, and I knew them. I'll miss them all. I was particularly moved by the fact that three of them came to her funeral on their day off. Stanley Wilson Lodge is a truly homely and welcoming setting where my aunt's needs and desires were catered for. It is a home I would be happy to live in myself if ever the need arose.
