The staff always treat Dad with respect and spend time with him when in a group of residents or on an individual basis. Their efforts in helping Dad with his exercises and needs are greeted with smiles and conversation (which can be confusing) but they will treat him as a valuable member of the home

When first entering the home the receptionist is always helpful. The helpers have encouraged Dad to get involved in activities and interact with the other residents. After Mum passed away who was also in the home they sat and helped Dad to understand what had happened. Mum painted a picture just before
she died which the helper framed and it is now hanging in Dad's room. The nurses always keep us informed of any changes. The overall appearance of the home is clean and inviting.

My mother became a resident at Stowford House as she required 24/7 nursing care following several weeks in hospital earlier this year. She had become seriously ill in her own home and has had to adapt to a new way of life since her recovery. All the staff involved with her care have displayed sensitivity
and an understanding of the difficult transition she has had to make. Personally I have appreciated the help and support that the reception, maintenance and management staff have given me while my mother has settled in. I am very pleased that my mother is at Stowford House as I know she is both safe and is having a high standard of care.

My sister has spent nearly two years at Stowford House after being transferred from the hospital. Her stay will soon be coming to an end, and she will be going home. I have visited every two weeks, as I live 50 miles away. I spend about 9 hours each visit so I have so I have got to know a lot of the
team. They have all been fantastic. I have witnessed the care they take when dealing with my sister who has multiple sclerosis and is bed-bound. I will miss not seeing them, but glad my sister is at last home.

I am very happy with Stowford House. My dad has settled in well. His room is spacious and nicely furnished. The bathroom is good too, with plenty of space for all his toiletries. The food is good, with choices for each meal and a rotating menu. Drinks and snacks are available whenever the residents
want. The activities provided are very varied. I particularly like the way activities are posted on social media. It is very comforting to see my dad joining in and enjoying himself.
The staff all seem very nice, and I feel my dad is well looked after.

Both Mum and Dad went into Stowford House at the end of March. They were both in rooms opposite one another as they didn't want to be separated as they would have had their 75th wedding anniversary in August. In April my mother who had dementia became very poorly and passed away on the 27th after being
in the home for just over 5 weeks. She was treated with respect, dignity and kindness right up until the end. They looked after my father superbly at a very difficult time for him. All the staff have been caring, and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for any of them.

My father has been staying a Stowford House Care for a month now, and the staff have been very patient and good at what they do with my father, as he is still settling in, but here is one person who I think has been outstanding and that is the events lead at the care home, and she has a very positive
attitude for the residents well fare.
There is a saying that is “mind over matter”, but her attitude is the other way around because she cares or she matters about people’s minds by having fun with the residents i.e. playing games, painting, puzzles, getting the residents all together to watch a film in the afternoon, which I think is great.
All the staff are on the ball with the residents, communicating with each other and always polite with the people in the care home.
I know Dementia is a horrible disease, which affects people’s minds, but keeping the residents happy is only going to be a good thing for everybody.
Mind over matter... the use of willpower to overcome physical problems.

Wonderful care home. My mother received excellent care from all the staff: the nurses were knowledgeable and always so helpful, and the carers couldn't do enough for her. Communication was excellent - from the home manager to the admin team. Mum always had a good choice of food and drinks, and the chef
comes around the rooms to check she was getting what she wanted. The home is very clean and kept in good condition. The activity lady came to see Mum most mornings to encourage her to join in the activities or just to read some of the newspaper with her or sing songs together. I cannot thank the staff at Stowford House enough for providing not just care but treating Mum as one of the family whilst always treating her with respect.

Both my mother and father were fortunate to spend the last few weeks of their lives in the care of Stowford. Previously both had been in different care homes or NHS hospitals. Stowford provided my mum and dad with exceptional care, and I cannot praise both staff and facilities highly enough. In addition,
visitors to residents are also treated well and with respect, something I found lacking at other establishments. The whole team at Stowford, manager, nurses, carers, cooks etc, went over and above what is normally deemed to be necessary.

My father spent 6 weeks respite here.
We found care lacking, visiting restrictions harsh and very poor communication with senior staff.
After registering a formal complaint a letter was sent denying all aspects of our concerns.
At no time was any apology acknowledged.
A very sad first experience
with the care home system.
My father is now well and thriving in a wonderful care home.
Would not recommend this home at all.

Every time I visit my aunt, I am so pleased to see her looking so happy and content. She has settled into the home so much better than I ever imagined. She has made friends with other residents and is taking part in some of the varied activities on offer. It is obvious to see that she is being well
cared for, and she appears to be very relaxed around the staff, who are so welcoming when I visit.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

After training to become a registered nurse, I specialised in the care of the elderly, working as a nurse consultant and a modern matron. This involved overseeing a couple of community hospitals, as well as an NHS nursing home.


The nature of the work meant that I subsequently progressed naturally into the management of care homes, all the while ensuring high standards of care.


Residents deserve a high standard of care and support – this is a matter that I am deeply passionate about.


Consequently, I ensure that all policies, procedures, values, and the ethos of the Future Care Group are adhered to. I have been working in the field of Adult Social Care since the early 2006s. I began as a Health Care Assistant and gradually progressed into a managerial role starting in the early 2020s.


Throughout my career, I have gained experience in both Public and Private services, primarily in Nursing and Residential Homes.


My background is in nursing, which has allowed me to expand my knowledge and understanding of the clinical aspects of care.


I am deeply passionate about supporting older individuals and delivering care that truly centres around their needs. To achieve this, I believe in involving individuals whose personal values align with mine and the ethos of the Future Care Group.


I am dedicated to supporting my colleagues in their personal and professional growth through coaching, mentoring, and training. Empowering them to be their best not only benefits them individually but also has a positive impact on the quality of care provided in our home.

My name is Kellie Shiers and I am the Administrator of Stowford House Care Home. I have worked at the Home for 3 years, starting my journey with the admin team.


I found Stowford House while looking for 24-hour care for my Grandparents who I was caring for at home. As soon as I met the team, I knew I not only wanted my Grandparents to live here, I wanted to join the team and be part of making a difference in people’s futures.


Outside of work, I love spending time with my little boy doing various activities like baking and crafts. I also enjoy playing/listening to music, singing and reading.

My name is Tina Jones and I am the Receptionist at Stowford House Care Home.


Stowford House is a great place to work; it has a warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
It’s wonderful to be part of a team that helps each other.


I really enjoy meeting the residents and their families as well as getting to know them. I feel it is a valuable part of my job.


When I’m not working, I like to do jigsaw puzzles, reading and spending time with my family including my Budgie called Bobby.

Hello, I'm Mel. I have worked at Stowford House for 7 years. I started my job here as a Kitchen Assistant helping prepare delicious meals for residents, but soon found myself very interested in maintaining a safe and clean home for our residents.

Since joining the team at Stowford House in 2018, I have gained experience working in a variety of pubs and restaurants. My job is very rewarding as I get to see the residents smile when they eat the meals prepared by me! No two days are the same as Stowford. I love daily interactions with the residents and colleagues.
In my free time, I enjoy making new memories with my family.
