Field Lodge is a purpose-built care home on the outskirts of St Ives in Cambridgeshire. The home offers a range of high-quality services from residential and nursing care, to respite and specialist dementia care.

Field Lodge boasts a range of amenities for residents to enjoy, no matter their likes and interests. From a tuck shop and contemporary café to an in-house cinema and hair salon and nail bar, there is always something on offer.

Each bedroom has been designed and decorated to offer ultimate comfort, they are spacious and complete with a widescreen TV and en-suite bathroom. Residents can also enjoy weekly activities in the lively home atmosphere.

At Field Lodge, there is a person-centred approach to care. The team takes time to get to know each resident before they move in to deliver individual care and lifestyle plans to suit their unique needs.

They are proud to have been internally accredited with the evidence-based, person-centred Care Fit for VIPS.

Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible.

Please note, the weekly fee does not include hairdressing, chiropody or other healthcare visits or

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

My son was in this wonderful place for such a short time recently. He was there for palliative care, but he got much more. They all couldn't do enough for him (and his family). The staff were very caring and nothing was too much trouble. He died there recently with dignity, and the care was excellent.
We will be forever grateful to them for their total commitment, given freely.

Just moved from another nursing home to have her closer to us since my dad pass away. From the very first visit, the welcome from all at Field Lodge was so friendly and warm. The process of moving mum was made as stress free as possible with the team as Field Lodge doing most of the work. Since mum
moved in it's felt like she's been there forever! Everyone from office staff to care staff, chefs and housekeepers are so happy to help and made it so easy for mum to settle in. Its like she's come alive since being there and her quality of life has been transformed.

On first visit was very impressed by the building and care shown by the staff in all aspects. After dad moved in I have been very impressed by the care given to my dad by all the staff from domestic to carers, nurses and management. He settled well and I am confident he is safe in his new home. The
food is also amazing more like a hotel.

My wife needed to move to be nearer to family from Warwickshire to Cambridgeshire. Field Lodge had just opened but we were impressed with the services and staff. My wife has vascular dementia, but was made to feel welcome with full nursing service being provided. Her special needs were well catered
for and the staff have always been caring and helpful. I would have no reservations about recommending this care home to future residents.

Since the moment my nana moved into Field Lodge my family couldn't wish for better care. My nana said daily how marvellous everyone was, and that she never knew places like Field Lodge existed. Every person who cared for my nana did so with compassion and respect we cannot thank all enough.

I was a temporary resident at Field Lodge due to having to leave my home for building repairs. I rather dreaded the experience but it became a most happy time and was quite sad when I had to return home. I would be quite content to consider becoming a permanent resident should I become unable to care
for myself.

Linda Martinez

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2004

As a Home Manager, I am constantly striving to make the home a better place. At Field Lodge, we’ve been a part of several firsts for Care UK, which I’m really proud of. We were the first Care UK home to provide residents with Namaste care and the first to be awarded the ‘Care for VIPs’ accreditation from Worcester University.


I’m very passionate about supporting individuals living with dementia, both initiatives acknowledge a gold-tier level of care as well as heightening support for relatives thanks to a strong focus on person-centred care. From the levels of support and care, I have been shortlisted for ‘Dementia Care Manager of the Year’ at the National Care Awards 2023.


I am keen to create an inclusive environment for everyone, we celebrate all cultures and LGBTQ+ with a variety of activities. Field Lodge has a homely atmosphere, I’m incredibly proud of the whole team who make the home such a comfortable place for everyone.

Job Title: Lifestyle Coordinator & Dementia Care Coach

I love the family feel of our care home and enjoy getting to know the residents and their families. Knowing I’ve made a difference in the resident's lives, especially those living with dementia, is the highlight of my day.


I’m a trained namaste practitioner, as part of my day I run namaste sessions which include hand or foot massages, music therapy, and themed sensory and gentle movement sessions. I’m very passionate about namaste as it gives people living with advanced dementia a way to communicate, it brings dignity, connection, and comfort, embracing the essence of each individual within the environment of the home.


Field Lodge is like no other care home, I love working here, and I’ve been at the home since 2014.

Job Title: Lifestyle Lead Joined: 2014

I put on a programme of activities every week, I love organising fun and exciting things for residents to do, whether that’s out in the minibus, or entertainment and activities in the home. Our location is a real treat as in a couple of minutes residents are in St Ives, where we can stop and get a coffee and feed the ducks.


But not everyone likes going out or group activities, I find it just as important to have a cup of tea and a natter, this can be about their life history or life at home, I always ensure activities are resident-led, to ensure maximum enjoyment and engagement.


I have worked at Care UK since 2014, it’s a fantastic organisation, everyone cares about delivering the highest quality care.

I have over 30 years’ experience in catering in hotels and restaurants, when I joined Field Lodge in 2020 it was my first experience of working in a care home.


I’m passionate about great food and about delivering interesting, satisfying meals to residents. My favourite part of the day is serving the meals, seeing happy faces and gaining feedback from residents.
