Hallmark Penylan House

My experience of Penylan House is it's a very good nursing home. The staff are very welcoming and good at their job. The activities team go one step further to keep residents happy. They are amazing. This is the right environment for my husband. Food is of an excellent standard. Penylan House garden is beautiful.

I would not hesitate to recommend Penylan House. The facilities are great - even the artwork in the corridors is the real deal but it was the staff who made the place so outstanding.

My husband was treated with dignity and the staff were friendly, respectful and very caring and made it extremely comfortable for him. He is hoping to go back again in the near future. Thank you for all your kindness to me and my husband.

Penylan Care Home is a welcoming, safe place for your loved one. My father has been a Dementia resident here for 1 year and I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they have given him. It's a huge relief for us knowing that he is in a place that not only caters for his needs but respects his boundaries. The staff work hard and are always professional. There are daily activities for the residents and we love looking at the photos, seeing how the residents engage. Families are always welcomed and we've certainly become part of the furniture!

At the forefront of the staff's mind at Penylan is resident care first and foremost. Each member is friendly, empathetic and out to do their best for the residents.

The staff have gone over and above what is expected of them to enrich the lives of the residents.

Excellent care and service are provided by professional and caring staff. Lots of activities are organised to keep residents interested, happy and active. Mental and physical health are closely monitored, and we are kept fully informed of issues, concerns and what we can do to help. Staff are always willing to act on suggestions from us. So happy that they are happy and thriving.

A fantastic care home which offers loads of different activities for the residents and they also host amazing family days throughout the year. I highly recommend this care home. The staff are incredible with all residents.

My husband entered the care home six months ago, I was devastated, I didn't know what to expect but I did not need to worry. My husband has settled in far quicker than I expected. Everyone has been amazing, they are wonderful to me and my husband. It feels like, when I visit, I am coming to my second home. Thank you Penylan House Nursing Home, carers, management, activities, cleaners and everyone.

Since dads recent move into Penylan House Nursing Home, we have been reassured about his care. The staff have been so kind and caring to dad settling him in. As a family visiting, we have always been made to feel welcome. His dignity and the care given to dad we feel have been gold standard.

The staff, carers, and management make it a lot easier for us to make the decision to leave Mum in their care. Mother has settled to her new life and routines made easier by the care, help and compassion shown to her by everyone that comes into contact with Mum.

Since my father has been in the nursing home, it has been so reassuring to see how well looked after and respected he is. The staff are so friendly and caring towards him and all the family. Everybody that works there takes the time to say hello to my father and us, and they say what a pleasure he is to be around. We love seeing all the engaging activities staff arrange with residents and involve family too. To know that your loved one is in a place that truly cares for and looks after them is all any of us can ask for. Thank you.

The care home has a lovely warm atmosphere. The staff are very caring to my husband who has dementia and shows a lot of respect to him.

My father entered the home in August 2021 as he was finding life increasingly difficult in his own home. He has settled in far better than we could have hoped for, putting on half a stone in weight and looking much more relaxed. He is enjoying the care and attention he is receiving from the dedicated and very friendly staff. He has been able to enjoy video calls with my sister in Greece thanks to the help of the communications staff and he is eating and sleeping better. The best endorsement for the home is to hear dad himself saying how great the people are looking after him! It is a huge relief to know he is being so well cared for and that he is relaxed and contented - can’t recommend this home more highly!

Very kind caring staff. My mother is non-verbal, wheelchair-bound and has dementia. She has been there for years. Always pleased with how kind staff are to her. Nice feel about the place. We looked at so many places before feeling satisfied.

The staff are patient, caring and respectful. Nothing is too much trouble. They get to know each resident as an individual and accommodate their personal and dietary needs. There are also many varied, fun activities which residents are encouraged to enjoy but are also free to make their own decisions. The management are approachable and willing to discuss any concerns regarding the care and wellbeing of a resident. My mum is very happy and has lived here for over two years and I wouldn't want her to live anywhere else. The care and kindness shown by all is second to none. I am so pleased that my mum is part of the loving, caring family which is Penylan House. Thank you, everyone!

Penylan House changed my grandmother’s life for the better. The kindness and care that the staff have is second to none - I know that my Nan is in good hands every day and as a relative that is so important and reassuring. I love the varying amount of groups and activities that go on daily in the week. My Nan has Alzheimer’s disease which can make her agitated, however, the groups are so uplifting and can really improve her mood and wellbeing. The environment is so lovely - the rooms are homely and spacious which makes such a difference. I couldn’t recommend this nursing home enough, they are amazing!
